Why on earth did Microsoft go to all the trouble of acquiring activision? I can understand some of those titles going multi platform. But I won’t believe the rumors of Microsoft going all in third party and “ending the console wars” until Phil confirms them.
Can you imagine the excitement generated and impact if Microsoft did a mid-gen refresh or early start on the next console generation with a new exclusive single player offline Doom/Wolfenstein title?
Microsoft has to recognize they have some unique positioning with all of their new IP. Waaaay premature to throw in the towel at this stage. These rumors are great for content creators, but ultimately just rumors. Just my opinion at this stage tho.
Curious to see the community response - I am lucky own all the consoles. The vast majority of my digital library is on Xbox. If Microsoft gets discouraged in light of all that is going on and decides to “get out of console gaming” like sega did, is that library at risk of just…disappearing.
Three day weekend with Monday off. I have decided that I will NOT be buying any additional games (not even on sale) until I’ve cleared some essentials from my backlog (Ff7R, RDr2, MGs phantom pain, Tsushima, death stranding, P5R, ff15, doom eternal, Valhalla, Immortals FR, Evil within 2, dishonored 2, control, Arkham knight, sekiro, demons souls, miles morales, Visage, Alien Isolation).
I really want to play things like ninja gaiden and mass effect trilogies, biomutant, scarlet nexus, ratchet and clank….not to mention several switch games Ive never gotten around to.
The digital storefronts have been killing my ability to start and sticks with something. Working on REmake, Valhalla, and latest gears/cod campaigns.
I booted up AC Valhalla on Series X. I think it’s fun, beautiful to explore. Tempted to buy Biomutant but have a feeling if I wait 2 weeks the urge will abate. Have a great weekend all!
-Skyrim - some main story and thieves guild. -Battletoads -Intimidates to start MH Rise. Never played a MH before. Seems like quite the time investment and so many good games to play in backlog.
Xbox - RDR2. Finished the medium, hoping for a new silent hill. Playstation - Spider-Man remastered. Nintendo - Diablo 3. Just starting, and not sure I understand the appeal of this genre.
Probably get distracted from my RDR2 playthrough (chapter 4), and dabble in some shadows of the damned on gamepass. Can’t seem to plow through the longer games these days.

Skyrim - difficult to stay on task. These long games out a damper on the ability to get anything else done.
