Path of Exile 2's come under pretty heavy criticism across the last week or so, following the release of its first major update — but developer Grinding Gear Games has been quick to respond, promising numerous improvements based on player feedback.
Said update, titled Dawn of the Hunt, dropped last week on the 4th April. It introduced an entirely new character class, along with a bunch of subclasses for existing heroes. It also made a lot of gameplay-related adjustments.
But again, plenty of invested players ain't happy. The overriding reaction is that the action RPG now feels too slow; it's become harder to cleave through hordes of foes even with a previously effective build, and it's killing the game's overall pacing.

Fortunately, a big 'What We're Working On' post has appeared on the title's official site, and while it doesn't delve into too much detail, it does try to address the community's most common complaints.
In particular, it covers numerous factors that may be contributing to the game feeling overly slow. It brings up player damage, enemy health, and the large size of some areas.
In fact, the post mentions that monster health values have already been walked back to what they were in the previous version. A promising sign, and a change that will hopefully restore some positivity amongst players.
It's easy to forget, by the way, that Path of Exile 2 is still in early access, with the finished (and free-to-play) release not expected until later this year — in the summer, at the earliest. We'd bet on the game going through a number of fundamental tweaks between now and version 1.0.
Have you been playing Path of Exile 2 since the update arrived? Patiently await those adjustments in the comments section below.

Can it patch the tutorial boss please, too hard and I lost connection and died. Thanks.
It’s very much worth playing and frankly the 45 CAD price tag easily gets you your moneys worth. That being said, I definitely don’t recommend it if you aren’t into very grindy games and dont like to number crunch. It’s not for everyone, think of it like a more complex Diablo. For better or worse.
Thats not great news, I didnt play this “season” yet, but tge game was already pretty slow. Especially in the endgame, +movement speed on boots were absolute must-have.
It would be cool if they would address the connection issues that both PS5 & Xbox have. Right now actually getting to play without disconnecting (or pausing in the PS5 case) is a more pressing issue.
As usual though console players are not even acknowledged.
@BiosNova
Found Musk's PushSquare account! 😂
Played for a few hours yesterday. Maybe I don't play enough to notice the nuances of the updates, but game felt the same to me.
I love this game. I love the diablo series but this game is just a superior experience.@Coffeeglitch Bob on..this game is so much more than a mere diablo clone and really does require a lot of thinking about how you go about building your class and it has many, many more variations on builds. It's not going to outstay its welcome with me and it's the first early access game I've bought into..no regrets.
I really don't like the slow paced soulslike combat that poe2 is trying to pull off.
It really doesn't fit the arpg genre imo.
I'll probably just play Last Epoch on pc this season.
lol Musk got embarrassed
I'm waiting for FTP to release, but I'll probably play a bit. I enjoyed POE1 a fair bit
