One of my most hype moments was the first fight against Baldur. I thought he was a skinny guy that was going to get wrecked easily then WHAM! He does some super saiyan stuff and knocks Kratos over his home. That’s the kind of stuff that puts someone on the edge of their seat.

Then there’s the finale of RDR2, going through those mountains. The music, John standing alone, and wearing Arthur’s hat on the way. I don’t think I was ever more happy to see a villain killed, I know some people had shot him in the chest or the balls, but I shot him in the face. That has to be my favorite moment of 2018.

Then there’s the assault on Braithwaite Manor, it felt like I was watching a finale to an abc series.

Last but not least, all of Goldpaw in Ni No Kuni 2.

@Hapuc I never hyped up the rumors, moron. I already explained why I won’t have time to sit down and play a 100 hour JRPG all the time and what do you mean I don’t know how to play a JRPG? I’ve been playing them for years, you just keep making yourself look stupid. I have all systems so I don’t need to port beg and I don’t miss out on anything. So you’ll be the one sending threats over exclusivity while I enjoy everything.

@Octane I have SoTC and it’s great indeed, I just don’t think remakes (especially ones that have been remade twice) or games that require you to purchase highly priced accessories should be on lists. That’s just me though

@gbanas92 I know the devs put hard work into it, which is why I believe God of War deserved best game direction for taking its franchise somewhere else. But I fail to see how this game is revolutionary or a bar raiser when everything in the game has been done before. God of War isn’t a bad game, but I’ve played better. Barely cracks my top 5 of the year.

@dark_knightmare2 A lot of people don’t have the attention span for a game like RDR2 and they weren’t able to finish the game. Everyone I know who finished the game said it has the best story.

Yeah...I’m starting to think this site is PlayStation biased. Nearly everywhere else I go I see people say Red Dead Redemption 2 had the better story. God of War is fun to play for the gameplay, but the story itself wasn’t very memorable and was actually dull. I think Arthur Morgan is a way better character.

I dunno if I’ll buy this. I’m already 57% through platinuming Persona 5, but I wouldn’t get this game unless it came out for Switch. That’s the only way I can see myself buying an updated version.

I’m expecting you to list a lot of Nintendo games since that’s what so-called old school gamers love quoting.

Easily one of the best games of the year. But gamers have short attention spans and feel like they have to kill something every five minutes, so of course this is overlooked.

@Ralizah idk man...Persona Q2 being on 3DS, SMT 5 coming to Switch, Joker being in Smash...if Persona 5 R ends up on Switch I wouldn’t be surprised. A lot of devs are getting hip to the Switch, even Bayonetta is now a Switch exclusive, but we’ll see

I don’t think God of War is game of the generation in any way. People who go that far probably haven’t played many action-adventure games.

When it won best game direction I was pleased because it definitely deserved it, but I’ve played many action-adventure games & GoW wasn’t what everyone made it out to be. All I’m saying on here is that I’m not surprised a PS exclusive won on a PlayStation site, but people are making it like I don’t agree.

@AyanamiReign And the Witcher 3 isn’t clunky? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to run away from a fight & I end up rolling instead, then I get killed. Also, TW3 is a fantasy RPG where RDR2 is a western so there isn’t much combat to be expected outside of shooting.
