Re: Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Has More Games to Reveal, But Don't Hold Your Breath for PS2 Era

NicolausCamp

I just picked up Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon and Shaolin Monks for the PS2, and I already own MK vs DC Universe on 360 and 9, XL, 11 and 1 on Steam, so if they can just include those original spin offs, Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Special Forces, along with the console ports of MK4 (N64, PS1, DC) that would be great and in a sense complete my collection! Really looking forward to this one either way!

I HATE that they retroactively renamed the first game to "part 1", making it harder to just have that game as a stand alone experience.
I haven't played the second game, but I've watched the show, and season 2 takes an enormous plunge. The first game ended perfectly, there was no need to keep going after that.

@tangyzesty I have always loved Forza, both Motorsport and Horizon, Gears of War, Halo, before going multiplatform, Hi-Fi Rush was an amazing get! Quantum Break was a solid addition to Remedy's roster, I know a lot of people loved Sea of Thives for years before going multiplat, Hellblade II was a solid sequel and I look forward to what Ninja Theory will work on next. Killer Instinct is one of the best fighting games ever made, the Ori games are magnificent etc.
It may not be your cup of tea, but to me, those are the kinds of experiences that drew me to the Xbox ecosystem!

@ChrisDeku I get what you're saying and I don't necessarily disagree. Thing is, I've been playing mostly on Xbox since the 360 days, I got my Series X on release (and good thing too considering the insane price hike now!) and I'm just saying I haven't regretted it even once! It makes sense to me to stick with Xbox since I've already invested so much in that ecosystem. My Xbox game library is there and I wouldn't trade it for a handful of exclusives on Sony's platform, and my computer really isn't up to snuff for the high end stuff that I use Game Pass for, but when I do upgrade to a new computer, it will be just that, a PC, not an Xbox, not a PS. The Xbox is great for me for the time being, but like I said, it'll most likely be the last high end console I ever get, and I'll be going exclusively PC and Nintendo after I make the jump to stronger PC hardware.
If you're a new player, don't have a PC, and want to choose one console over the other, I do think it's a little more complicated. For someone like me who usually just play through a game once and then move on, Game Pass can save you a ton of money. On the other hand, the PS5's library is undoubtedly larger and more diverse. I don't really think you can go wrong either way depending on what you prioritize, but I WOULD suggest to that person "Have you considered getting a computer?" as well.

@PlatinumMikey That's almost like asking "Why would anyone buy a PS5 when there's PC?". Most Sony first party games come to PC, you can use Game Pass, it's literally the best of both worlds.
I probably won't buy an Xbox again, but I won't get a PlayStation either. I have a Series X and I use it for high end Game Pass-titles and for playing backwards compatible game, of which I have a vast library. Oh, and I use it as my dedicated 4K UHD Blu-ray player too. That's good enough for me. The rest I use my PC and Switch for and I don't feel like I'm missing out anything really by skipping both the PS4 and 5.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5?

NicolausCamp

@puddinggirl I'd say it's a VERY different game from Uncharted. A lot more focus on exploration, way more open-ended, and a surprisingly light focus on any sort of combat.
I feel the PlayStation ad, which pitted Nolan North against Troy Baker, discussing what it means to be an adventurer really captured what set the two franchises apart.
They are both great, but in very different ways.

Re: Preview: Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Is Shaping Up to Be Another PS4 Compilation That Slaps

NicolausCamp

@djlard Well, like I said, both of those are tied to licenses not owned by Capcom (Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is based on Xenozoic Tales, an American comic book). And while the Dungeons and Dragons games are still being sold as a double pack on various platforms, I'd guess Capcom would have to pay a big licensing fee to include them in yet another compilation, something they might not be willing to do since the games are readilly available as is... (you can buy it on Steam or Xbox as Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara)

Re: Preview: Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Is Shaping Up to Be Another PS4 Compilation That Slaps

NicolausCamp

@djlard That would be great, but considering what's left it seems like a licensing nightmare...
Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, the two Dungeons and Dragons games, Alien vs Predator... all four are based on licenses not owned by Capcom, and that's just 4 games... maybe if they added the SNES Final Fight 2 & 3 as well for a total of 6 games.
I'd love another collection, but I have a hard time seeing it happen...

Re: Poll: 5 Years Later, How Do You Feel About Final Fantasy 7 Remake?

NicolausCamp

I first played through FF7Remake last year on Steam, and honestly, I was not overly fond of it at all. Way too drawn out, boring buttonmashy battles (boss battles were fun though, but usually dragged on for far too long)
This is to me the perfect example of less is more, because when I rolled credits, I just wanted to go back to the original FF7, and I have no intention of engaging with the rest of the trilogy.
This is glitzy, unecessarily padded and drawn out, and adds NOTHING to the original game. Resident Evil 2 Remake this is not.
