Arcade Archives 2 Receives a Big Price Hike with Ridge Racer on PS5

Iconic game, especially for playstation fans, but that does seem a bit high if you remove the nostalgia. Modern day racers can be found cheaper lol.

I'd much rather have a remake of ridge racer or rage racer..actually I'd take a remake of ridge racer revolution any day.

@Cornpop76 I won't settle for remasters...I want full on remakes that make full use of the ps5. Nothing else is even worth considering.

No dice. I thought the regular price for the ACA releases was a bit too steep, but this will just guarantee that I won't be getting a single one of these releases...

Charging more for the upgrade than the price difference between them is scummy as heck.

VRR in a 30 old game lol along with "time attack" never seen time attack modes before.....

I'd love for Road Rash 2 to be released again. Man that was fun but EA don't seem to like putting their old catalogue out there

Yeah nope at that price, maybe when it discounted, the psp version has a lot of content but I remember the psone/arcade version is only having 3 or more track.

Problem with waiting for a sale is arcade archives releases rarely ever do go on sale. And when they do the prices don't drop too much.

I remain interested but these price increases are getting too much. Doubling the price of a normal AA release even for the base version is hard to swallow.

Remember when Daytona USA got a HD remaster for just £6? Those were the days.

@Stale-Bread yeah, there's a whole host of classic EOA games from the 16 Bit era that are just ripe for a compilation: Road Rash, the Strike series, The Immortal, F22/LHX, hell even some of the older EA Sports titles like Hockey and PGA would be worth a revisit

As if Namco avoids getting money. Truly the japanese EA.

@Northern_munkey I loved Syphon Filter on the PS1 but its impossible to play for me the controls are that horrible for me now.

I would be able to accept it if the modernised the controls. Because damn those old controls are horrible.

There's no way this should be more than a tenner, plus they should have combined the arcade perfection with the features of the ps version. What's the point in playing 'till you die'?

I'm not sure how you can sell the original ridge racer on it's own since it has so little going for it. Most of the stuff it has is in the other games in the series, and the fact that there is only 1 track means it's going to get stale quickly. The fact this is somehow the most expensive arcade archives release is horrendous. There are so many other arcade racers out there that offer way more, even for the same price.

It's been so long since I played ridge racer and ridge racer 2 on psone, I already forgot about the number of tracks. I do remember ridge racer type 4 is the best rr on psone, I finished the story for each of the car club 😃
