The fact all these have better performance on the Pro, and I do remember some stutters and having to wait occasionally on FFXVI. It makes me wonder if the Pro is actually some super powered console, or if the base PS5 was underpowered to begin with in that it couldn’t properly run its games well…
It kinda creeps me out how they publish this stuff. Like, why do they need to publish the statistics of what players choose to do? I could understand in an MMO, but not a single player game…
@IamJT I just feel it’s more important to be factual and point things out rather than let everyone suddenly pick up their pitchforks over something so vague.
@Medic_alert “Stifles creativity”? Isn’t the guy behind the company on record for saying he’d rather just steal from other games than do anything original?
Plus there’s so many games inspired by others. Seems like there’s a new Metroidvania game every week lately. It’s fine to be inspired by something, just not copy it as close as you can. Which is basically what this is about.
Also the “ride a creature” mechanic is apparently more in depth in that the patent is about riding them in specific environments to perform certain tasks, probably like Sun & Moon.
I’m not necessarily siding with Nintendo per se, just more pointing out the fact that they are within reason to sue Pocket Pal.
@Medic_alert Except you can’t exactly patent stuff like that…Pretty sure sword characters and elves in games existed long before Nintendo made games with them. Like on Atari…
This is one game by a notoriously bad company. It’s not going to turn the entire industry upside down. There’s TONS of monster catching games. Yet they’re all perfectly fine and even available, and a couple were even promoted by Nintendo on their Indie Showcases.
Honestly if Palworld did something wrong, then yes, Nintendo has every right to pursue legal action. Like it or not. Plus Pocket Pal is notorious for being scummy as hell. So I don’t see why everyone is quick to side with them who are in the wrong. While that apparent “riding mechanic” seems a bit of a stretch, if there’s other patents infringed on, Nintendo has the right to sue.
So based on that math, how many games would the average PS5 owner have? 65.5 million consoles sold, 77.7 million games. I’m not great at math, but since people typically don’t think there’s many games worth buying on PS5, my brother included, it’d be interesting to see.
Huh, I felt like this game was fairly popular. I heard about it often, plus saw plenty of ads and they even just started a comic book. I thought for sure it was successful. Especially given how upset people got when the beta or original version, whatever it was went away the first time around.
69? Really way too specific. This has got to be some kind of joke, right? That said, I’ve never heard of “Don’t Nod”. Seems like there’s barely any good news with game companies these days outside Nintendo stuff…
Seems like everything is either closing or being sold/acquired these days. Meanwhile Nintendo announced no plans to make acquisitions. Hopefully this doesn’t lead to them going under. While I don’t play anything they have made, it’s just tiring seeing gaming companies close lately…
30 million?! When the hell was the last time a game sold that well!? That’s insane! I never would have imagined this game would do so well, I guess I don’t have much faith in “licensed” titles, especially in the current game industry…
Maybe I’m just old fashioned, but anyone else remember being able to just buy a console to play a fun game without worrying about how powerful or “upscaling” it could do?
Sure, Jan. Not like you haven’t said that before…How about figuring out how to keep your company going long enough to even release this game, THEN you can plan ahead.
My only real question about this is why not just have gone with the Pro in the beginning? Why even release the base PS5? I get these things are always planned in advance, but if this was always the idea... Were they concerned over backlash over a high priced console like back when the PS3 was released? I’m not really sure how to explain what I’m trying to say.
@ecurb7 Agreed. While I do understand the complaints people have, I’m always quick to just say “I have fun” when commenting on these posts. I don’t play games a lot, and I don’t plan to get a Pro. I have older systems and consoles, nothing newer ones than a PS Vita. And I have fun and enjoy playing games. I’m not into all these new things, but I’m not going to necessarily complain. I just stick with what I enjoy and have fun.
@Nei As long as you can still play games on it, no system I’d ever really worthless. Not everyone wants to play the newest releases. Hell, I’m looking to get a PS1 this weekend.
I’d rather get a PS4 and even looked into it a little. The only things that I’m really wanting to try on PS5 that I haven’t played with my brother are Stellar Blade and Infinity Nikki. Aside from those, nothing has really grabbed my attention compared to the numerous releases on PS4…But that’s just me.
@torquex Honestly? With how much attention the game gets, with about an article a week, and the interest for it in Japan, I think it’ll be the best selling Assassin’s Creed game in the series.
@PSme Agreed. While I don’t have a PS5 in any form. I’d rather have a base or slim model, these “Pro Enchantments” mean nothing to me, and I can still have plenty of fun.
Let’s see if Ubisoft even survives that long…I do have high hopes for this game being successful though, don’t get me wrong. I’m not going to play it myself, but I believe it will do rather well or rather poorly, but it all depends on if Ubisoft can stay afloat until then. And lately all the news we hear about the company is less than stellar…
Kinda crazy how incredibly mismanaged or even the baffling decisions lately coming from PlayStation and Xbox. And Nintendo is doing better than ever before. Definitely some wild times we live in for gaming lately…
That’s actually insane. It’s only been out for three days? I guess people still enjoy Sonic games. Or at least Shadow. I’m a casual Sonic fan, and collect a few figures here and there. But it always seems nobody is happy with these games anymore. I guess since this one was so popular when it came out and the Shadow story tacked on really helped.
As much as I dislike this whole “Roblox” thing and hate seeing it. I do think it’s good it has a lot of parental controls. Not that I have children. But I feel like there just so much hands-off parenting these days…
Sheese. Talk about slime balls. They’re not going to succeed, so why not just quit? The first game was a scam, right? I only read that article about a second game. The second game clearly wasn’t going to happen. What’s the point of this? All these companies lately have layoffs or shut down, and then there’s this one that SHOULD shut down.
Considering the state Ubisoft is currently in, let’s see if this actually gets a release. Or like @Danloaded said, it’ll just be another empty promise remake everyone will be waiting forever for.
Are games just getting hornier these days or something? This or Baldur’s Gate 3 was…Well you know. Kinda miss when it was just a niche thing for anime type games that made people side eye you.
I really want to try this game. Hopefully my brother buys it after Christmas, then I’ll have a chance. Or “gift” it to him so I can have the opportunity myself!
@CutchuSlow I don’t so much want it to flop. I just don’t think Ubisoft will last long enough for the game to be released. In my honest opinion, I can see this becoming the best selling Assassin’s Creed game with all the buzz and headlines it makes every week, it is definitely on everyone’s raft at this point.
Wow. That’s unheard of these days. A positive article about Ubisoft? But I do like this. I’m actually shocked they’d even cut down the cost just because the season pass no longer exists. One would figure it’d stay the same, especially with their current financial state.
Everyone got too used to Ubi’s sales huh? Honestly since they do these huge sales soon after a game is released that I’ve only heard about, I don’t game much, it but them in the ass. Also, it’s like what, every other day now that Ubisoft is in the news? Now if there IS truth to this rumor, then yeah, how much longer before they start closing up more of their divisions until none remain?
I’m not trying to be all doom and gloom or a naysayer on all these Ubisoft articles. But it’s honestly just starting to look like their days truly are numbered. Especially when nearly every single article is negative about what is happening inside the company. Strikes, buyouts, financials, it’s not looking good.

@KawakiisaFraud You do realize Nintendo is working WITH Sony to produce a Legend of Zelda movie, right? This lawsuit has ZERO to do with them.
