Re: April PlayStation Plus Content Reveal Incoming This Week

KillTheG1mp

@stubiedoo Metro: Last Light came out in may 2013. So less than a year... just saying!

The PS4 has almost been out for 6 months now. So it could be possible but highly improbable that it would be a AAA title in the next few months. My money would be on Rayman Legends thought. It's about 30$ on PSN and 40$ in stores and the game has been out on other platforms since august 2013 so.

Re: You're Probably Eligible for a Free Download of Hotline Miami on PS4

KillTheG1mp

I have this on my Vita and on Steam. I'm going to play this game again on my PS4, that's how awesome it is!

@Swiket I tried playing with a mouse/keyboard on PC and it's actually harder (for me) than playing this with a console controller/Vita buttons. It's hard at first but once you get the hang of it you can pull off some sweet death combos on unsuspecting mafiosi. So gratifying!

Re: Wait, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Has Had Another Price Cut?

KillTheG1mp

@LDXD exactly mate! Cheers! So many negative reviews just criticize the main mission's lenght that it gives it the false impression that there is no replay value. It's not for everyone mind you, but it's still a 10+ hour game to 100% the game. And it's fun to replay and explore the base using new unlocked weapons and finding new details and approaches to do the missions.

Re: Wait, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Has Had Another Price Cut?

KillTheG1mp

@LDXD Aladdin? Contra 3? Those were expensive back in the day and were about an hour to finish.

Yes MGS:GZ is short if you only play the story mission once. But it is meant to be played several times, to experiment with it and to master it.

My first run of the main mission lasted me 70 minutes, I got a B rank and only did 10% completion. There is two difficulty levels, 5 extra ops, cassettes and XOF patches to find. The replayability is way higher than most reviews state and therefore people "believe" the game only has 2 hours of gameplay content in it, which the game clearly excels.

Like I stated previously, you can skip all the cutscenes in the MGS games and finish thr games in under 3 hours.

All I'm saying is the game is longer than most other games where you're not encouraged to replay through them and those games ask for 60$ when MGS:GZ, at 30$, offers more depth and replay factor.

Re: Wait, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Has Had Another Price Cut?

KillTheG1mp

@get2sammyb sorry about the language but sometimes people bash on something great for no reason and it is upsetting.

I remember a time here in Canada when SNES game cartridges were 99,99$ each. For games that lasted an hour to finish and we didn't complain. Modern gamers seem to judge solely on price first regardless of actual content.

MGS:GZ has more meat on it than most games on the market. So it ain't a 30$ demo, nor is it glorified DLC.

Re: Review: inFAMOUS: Second Son (PlayStation 4)

KillTheG1mp

I'm getting my copy in an hour and I'll have to wait until tonight to play it. But I'm eager to try this.

@get2sammyb: is expert difficulty really THAT hard? I always play my games on the hardest possible difficulty from the start because I like a challenge but if it's stupidly hard I might reconsider for this one.

Re: Review: Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PlayStation 4)

KillTheG1mp

If you skip the cutscenes and codec calls, most MGS games can be completed under 3 hours. Besides, those games are all about the experience and the replayability. So what if the main mission lasts an hour? There's stuff to unlock, tapes and XOF patches to find, two difficulty settings, trials to beat. I mean, the game HAS some meat to it!

I loved Tomb Raider, played it once on hard and sold it? Why? Cause there's no replay value. Here? I'll play the MGS games over and over and still play a different experience each and every time.

30$ seems like a damn good deal for the game in my opinion!

Re: Store Update: 18th March 2014 (North America)

KillTheG1mp

@SimonAdebisi 50% of 30$ is 15$. So 30$ - 20$ is 10$, therefore not a 50% hike in price...

If you take the retail value of the physical copy VS the digital PS3 version, then yes, you would be correct. But the physical copy on all platforms is 35$ here in Canada.

Re: Store Update: 18th March 2014 (North America)

KillTheG1mp

@SimonAdebisi 10$ dude is not 50%.

And there's no tax for digital downloads in Canada. So I paid my copy 29,99$ instead of 34,99$ + taxes for a physical copy.

Infamous Second Son is also 10$ cheaper on the PSN store than retail in Canada.

Re: In Some Parts of the World, the PS4's Price Is Increasing

KillTheG1mp

@Gamer83 you would get used to it. Everything used to be more expensive in Canada than the US before. When the US dollar went lower than the Canadian dollar the prices on electeonics went pretty equal but now with the currency so low... it's back to the old times again...

It sucks but that's the way it is. Sony are just the first to make the move but everyone else will follow them soon enough.

Re: In Some Parts of the World, the PS4's Price Is Increasing

KillTheG1mp

Also, I noticed that on the Canadian PSN store on my PS4 that inFAMOUS: Second Son is 59.99$ for the digital version, but is 69.99$ in stores for the pre-orders.

Will they sell cheaper versions for the digital versions? Perhaps, I know we don't pay taxes on them here in Canada, so there's still a way to get games a little bit cheaper.

Re: In Some Parts of the World, the PS4's Price Is Increasing

KillTheG1mp

Guys it's not a question of low supplies and high demand. Our dollar is simply worth jack at the moment! So selling stuff as the same price as our southern neighbors means they are losing money by offering the same product for a lower value.

Thank heavens I bought mine at 399.99$ in late december though!

Re: Hands On: Scouting Out Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on PS4

KillTheG1mp

I just finished MGS: PW (with the final and true ending...20 hours later! gaaah!) and man am I psyched to play this next tuesday! And of course I had to have a ****ing off-hours obligatory meeting at my job and pull a 12 hours shift the very same day!

Even though it's just the prologue, I'll play this until my thumbs are bleeding and then I'm gonna play some more until the Phantom Pain releases. The MGS games are timeless classics and meant to be played over and over again I believe!

P.S.: Will the review be out on Pushsquare the 18th or only the 21st?

Re: Hardware Review: PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset - Sound Buy

KillTheG1mp

Since my girlfriend goes to bed before I do and I like playing videogames while she's meeting Morpheus, knowing that the PS4 came with headphone support was a blessing for me. So far I'm playing with my normal 40$ in-ear headphones but my sight is set on the Gold Wireless Headset! Thanks for the review!

Might I suggest adding an addedum when inFAMOUS Second Son comes out? I heard Sucker Punch will be the first to offer a pre-made custom sound for the game with the PS4 App when it launches. I'd love to see how it will end up being, gimmicky or really well done?

Re: Sony's Spring Fever Will Empty Your Wallet This March

KillTheG1mp

@Tsuzura I actually do. But I'm running Ubuntu on my 7 year old laptop barely meeting Fez's minimum requirements and it's playable but not perfect. So 10$ for an awesome indie game made by a fellow quebeccer like me is not that bad hehe. Besides: cross-buy for vita and ps4 ftw!

Re: Round Up: Reviews Sneak into View for Thief on PS4

KillTheG1mp

First of all, hi all, I've been reading you for a while but I hadn't bothered making an account yet.

Second, I wanted to buy Thief tomorrow but I bailed... I'm a stealth game fan and I loved Deus Ex: Human Revolution from Eidos Montréal and I guess my expectations were extremely high for the Thief reboot. Yet today's metacritic results made me extremely disappointed and unsure about the game. So I decided to buy Tomb Raider instead, which I had not played yet before waiting for MGS:GZ and inFamous: Second Son to come out next month.

I'll probably end up buying it when the price drops a bit as 69% on Metacritic ain't great at all and usually, the score represents my appreciation of a title.

Too bad for me I guess.
