"There are clearly legal concerns here, as the company frets over potential lawsuits. But if that’s what has prompted the platform holder to put a lock around this beta, then how the hell is it going to cope with the commercial release?"
This question has been asked time and time again and the answer is very simple: "The same as what they did with LBP and very close to what Youtube is doing".
This game isn't even out yet, and they don't want the game to get legal action attention prior to all of these pipelines have been properly established. This is a creator beta, not a DMCA beta.
Edit: Just wanted to add that Sony has a huge department concerned with these things and that is what is used to LBP currently. However, that department can't work with Dreams before Mm has properly implemented a moderation system.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Shuhei removed his retweet. You all have to remember that they are basically marketing Dreams with Konami's IP with this. 0% chance it gets to stay up.
I got into the beta on the 19th and I thought it was common knowledge that closed betas worked like this. They didn't do this as a marketing stunt like your industry molded brain thinks they did it. This isn't EA trying to get the word out about the game, this is Mm trying to get end-user testers in a controlled environment. Just like with God of War and with Days Gone currently, the marketing campaign has not yet started on this game.
@kyleforrester87 Well even at 100" it would still have twice the pixel density of a 50" and they also said they had an 85" version which just further increases the pixel density ratio. It should be said that higher pixel density has diminishing returns at smaller view distances. TVs at that size utilizes that.
@kyleforrester87 You are wrong. It would still be twice the resolution per cm^2 on a tv half the size. 8k is 4 times the resolution of 4k. And the TV isn't big enough to be twice as large as most TV's in use anyway. It is bigger than average but nowhere near close to twice the size.
"You don't have to be a youtuber to enjoy youtube" This is the quintessential thing people tend to forget about this game. Sure there will be an ocean of trash games but there are going to be dusins upon dusins of amazing ones aswell.
It is a sleeper for now. But i betcha when the game enters its beta and we get to see what the community can make with it, i think it is going to turn a lot of heads. I am personally a creative type so ofc i am sold on it. Can't wait for that beta though.
