Cant wait to have a Portable Playstation 6, I do not care about Disks I have two PS5s with disk drives, so I can play my disk games on my ps5 if I really want to play an old game when ever I want. Most of my library has been digital since the PS5, I hate having to swap the disks out and I like to bounce between games. PS6 day one Wolverine,GTA, Elden Ring The Witcher 4 anywhere I want, its the portable everyone thought the Switch 2 would be, but Nintendo let us down just like they will with the new Zelda remake.

Sounds like he is not up to par with how gaming works. I can forever and will be allowed to download PS3 games that I purchased, got an email from Sony letting me know my ps3 games will always be available to download, key info so low information haters cant chime in. I have had no games deleted from my library on any platform, steam Xbox any of them. Backwards compatibility is a nice thing but I dont think this needs to be offered at all. I have a PS5 a ps5 pro a PS4 Pro and a PS3 they all work great. I can play any game I purchased. I dont think PS6 should have to be backwards compatible with PS5 Disk games, what happened to your PS5? Use your PS5 makes sense to me, also not hard at all to grasp.

Already got two PS5 with disk drives. I got launch version with built in, and baught one of the attachments for my Pro. This is why I day one my stuff. If your just now buying a PS5 oh well is what I say. If you come to a party late dont expect a full meal, everyone that wanted a disc attachment has had plenty of time to get one.

Both my ps5s have disk drives but I am ready for the all digital ps6 whoop whoop lets go Sony. 93 million PS5s sold already GTA VI lets go 120 million

I loved Halo when in first came out over 20 years ago. It was amazing hooking up multiple Xboxs and playing local multi-player. Halo was a super fun game that set the stage for Xbox and in my eyes call of duty. I cant stand call of duty but OG Halo I can dig. I hope this sells real well because I do love Halo I just think it wasn't the same after Bungie.

I am going to keep playing my PS5 Pro. Waiting for Wolverine and GTA VI. Life is good no hate for Sony from me. I'm gonna keep buying the games I want to succeed on day one no sale, and I am going to do the same with hardware. Playstation for life, everything plays better on it, not just GTA VI!!! PS6 cant wait whoop whoop, it will be the portable we thought the switch 2 was gonna be.

@Dogmanstar 2023 is a long time ago the industry has changed alot since then, it will change even more by 2028.

@Porco they sold over 93 million PS5s, GTA VI will make that way more. The PS6 will be a portable Playstation, that is going to sell like hotcakes. Sony is cooking and there is no slowing down their cash cow. PS6 Day one for me. Sony has Spiderman, Wolverine, God of War, Death Stranding and PSYINT. PSYINT will be a PS6 launch title. No one cares if its digital only. They also have a Kights of the old Republic in development. These alone will move consoles.

@Bingoboyop no my brain isn't shut down you are just feelings over facts. I laid out facts and you still are sad with feelings about this. No one cares, Apple is doing it Steam is doing it. 15% of consumers is nothing, a little drop that will be picked up with an exclusive or 2. Sony doesn't care about you or me but about revenue and anyone with half a brain can see why they are doing it. Feelings over Facts, Revenue over Loss and wasted time and resources. No one cares if you stop buying Playstations, disk owners are a minority now. Restating your feelings doesn't make them any more prevalent just shows how sad you are with feelings because Sony made a smart business move.

@Bingoboyop making discs that no one buys is a loss. They have to pay a company to make the disk, put the game on a disk and then ship to retailers before any money is made. If any game on disc does not sell, time and money have been wasted. Do you know what games are going to sell better on disc then another, how would you know how many discs to make? The 15% is an average some sell better than others, some games sell better period, physcal games that do not get sold are waste, waste is a loss, not a profit. It's a loss of money and time already spent. Lean Six Sigma basic business principles.

@Porco PS6 will have a portable version. GTA VI from anywhere. Also the 60fps for GTA VI is going to be on the PS6. This alone will sell the PS6. Then add in a Spiderman, a Venom, Last of Us and Sony will do just fine. Also the most loyal are the ones spending money, not talking ***** every chance they get on the internet.

@Bingoboyop 15 percent of games are baught physically, thats not alot of money bud. Thats a low number, and yes Sony loses profit when discs are made and sold. Sony gets a 30% cut of all games sold on their store. Printing discs that no one buys cost money. Lean Six Sigma cmon. Another point why should Sony have to keep supporting consoles that are decades old? Should they just burn their money also? If you have a PS3 or a Vita and you have not already downloaded your games, oh well no one cares, should of downloaded them during the 20 years of support. Seems like a personal problem.

@Bingoboyop They lose money when they make disc games. Games are pirated and leaked when discs are made. There is no reason to make discs anymore. That 15 percent is going down. Cost vs waste basic business fundamentals, read a book about it. Thats why the CEO is choosing an all digital future, is for profits. Sony likes to make money, discs do not make money. They are not tone deaf, they are just not listening to a minority of gamers, instead they are listing to the people that spend money and they spend it on digital games. You should of baught more discs then Sony might listen to you, but its too late.

@Bizzy I can access all of my library just fine. Pretty sure no one on steam is buying physical games and there library is fine. Apple doesnt sell CDs and everyones music library is still there. Your arguments are moot. Your collection will most likely be worth nothing. Except for a few rare gems, games go down in value. Ebay less the a month after First Light came out I can get half price, games go down in value not up. Only a few are worth more than they were brand new especially when inflation is factored in. Like I said no one cares, have fun with your old games and having to swap disks and carts everytime you want to play a different game.

No one cares, a minority is in an echo chamber yelling very loud they want physical games. But No one buys disks anymore, this loud minority should of been buying disks. Either way this is good and will help stop piracy. More good then bad going all digital. GTA VI is digital only and no one cares. Switch 2 has mostly codes in a box already. Welcome to 2026.

Xbox cant make a good decision if it was handed to them. They are closing all there studios and dont want games on PS5 there are more than 3 times the amount of PS5 owners to Xbox. But lets not put games on a system that can make you money oh cause sony will get money also. Well just like the article says the hate for xbox will last quite a while.

The PS5 has 93 million consoles sold. Thats more than triple of the amount of Xboxs and more than quadruple the switch 2. The amount of PS5 sold already is amazing and is better than expected. I dont think they can beat the PS2 numbers 160 million, but just getting to 100 or 110 million is more than enough. So PS5 is moving just fine even with a slow summer month. Trashbox and switch are not in that many people's hands. Sony won this generation hands down, and if the PS6 is delayed then they might hit the 160 million either way more people are adopting a PS5 more than any other gaming system easy win for Sony.

I love my portal. I hope they make it. Only concern is with price. Everyone jumping on the AI bandwagon, even if the AIs are dumb as rocks, chips will be expensive. There should be a point where the supply should out pace demand and price goes down, but corporate greed is at an all time high. Some companies once people pay a price they dont bring it down they just make more profit.

Guess they know how Rockstars engine works. I guess RDR2 isn't one of the prettiest games out, still. Just like they said the trailer doesn't have gameplay the whole trailer was pretty much game play. Experts yeah right this is the rest of the industry trying to gaslight GTA VI. The game is going to put others to shame.

So if they cant play it for free they dont want it. This is why there are no disc and day one downloads.

@atthegates thats a personal problem its the same with CDs cant put them in a car no more. I do not expect PS3 games to work on PS4 or PS5 same with PS2 and PS1. Would be cool but not a big deal as any game on those old systems isn't worth playing again, or trying. Maybe Metal Gear 4 and Metal Gear Rising, but my ps3 works fine so I can play them on that.

I loved cyberpunk never got to play with the super update that changed the game. I got it off ebay for 10 bucks when it first came out and as soon as most of the crashing issues were fixed I jumped in and had a blast. I need to play with the update and phantom liberty, so many games to play and its summer and for some reason I hopped back into GTA V online. What is wrong with me

Let's go Game of the year, Game of the next decade. I started playing GTA5 again had 4 million from when I stopped playing. Still dont get why people purchase shark cards I can make 2-4 mil in one day of grinding.

More than half of PC players pirate the game why would anyone release on PC unless you want your game stolen.

A) Why would the force an anti piracy restraint on them selves. They want it to sell on trashbox Sony takes a 30% cut of all game sales on Playstation.

B) They just got their new CEO, Phil was nice a bit loopy but wouldn't stoop this low. We already know this new CEO has no professionalism and is okay with corporate sabotage, by the Showcase and Gears.

C) They dont care about Steam they are trying to integrate a steam launcher on the new Xbox/PC that they are working on.

@ElectricWizard are you serious they get to make it seem like Sony wants everyone to have accounts, this was easily an xbox choice and they can use pirating as an excuse. It only takes half a brain to figure this out.

@Friendly how would you know? Going on evidence this is all xbox because all PS5 games with local co op do not do this. Only a Microsoft port is requiring this. Ok use your brain and put 2 and 2 together. It's not hard to see what Microsoft is doing.

More Microsoft being Microsoft. I knew they were going low when the new ceo came in to play. Dirty tactics by a dirty company with a nasty ceo. This is fine with me I thought this might be the Trojan that gets people to buy a trash box but now that plan will not work. We have to purchase the game have loads of fun and then the New Halo is exclusive, I guess that formula isn't working so try to make the other version worse, contracts were signed so they have to release on Playstation. How Microsoft treated the halo franchise is why I can never return. Trash box and there dirty tactics is why no one has one. It's not even in conversations all anybody wants is a PS5 or a Switch 2, RIP Xbox, have fun going the way of Sega.

I think they could release for 50 dollars just to make the industry look like they are crooks. Less then 20 hour campaigns for 70 dollars gimme a break. Cmon Rockstar bring the industry back to 50 bucks a game. Why would anyone get any game before this if its only 50. Microsoft is doing it for alot of their releases. The real money will be in the online so they want this game in everyone's hands.
