I don't really know if this rumor has any weight to it. Japan Studio has closed and Team Gravity moved on long ago so I don't know who would even be doing it. I guess Bluepoint(?) since they did GR Remastered. Don't know if they'd really need a new version personally, but still happy to see.
Really love the Horizon community so seeing this one hurts. Especially when it's someone who clearly, genuinely cared about their role and what they were doing.
Really sad to see all these people lose their jobs along with the projects they put all their time and effort into. But if most of these were live service games as rumored then at least Sony was smart enough to look at the perception and current state of live service and realize they really didn't need that many. Jim Ryan's push for that really screwed alot of their studios.
"Still, Nomura has some hope for humanity left in him." Well I guess we'll see if that gets knocked out of him lol but in all seriousness, trusting people with anything is a tad unwise to say the least. As sad as that is to admit.
It's an interesting choice because while it's a very fun game and worth checking out if you're a fan of the GBA it's also one most people wouldn't know/care about. So I can't help but wonder why. But I'm glad that Konami has remembered that it used to make games and not just pachinko machines.
I have a lot of nostalgia for this game. It's terrible but also incredible(for the wrong reasons lol) at the same time. I've been emulating it for years at this point but getting to play it on PS5 was something I didn't know I wanted. Still difficult though, without enabling the invincibility hack I probably wouldn't be able to beat it.
I kinda feel like he's missing the point a bit; shipping is just based on personal thoughts or feelings, a fun thing for fans to talk about. It's not meant to detract from the actual material. If I ship Cloud and Tifa it shouldn't affect the stories the creators tell because it's just a personal opinion and doesn't/shouldn't actually matter. People can definitely take things too far but that goes for any fandom, shippers or not.
This really sucks. Even though there's no "good" time for something like this to happen it's especially rough to happen right now. The devs should just be enjoying the holidays with their families not having to stress about their personal info leaking online. Stay strong Insomniac โค
As sad as I am for the studio and all the time and effort the devs put into this project, after seeing that menu... yeah I'm glad they're focusing on what they know and do best instead. This is Naughty Dog after all and I would've hated to see them of all studios cannibalized into live service hell. Really sucks for the players excited for it though.
I wonder why the devs bothered going through all the smoke and mirrors to begin with. They went from hovering around scam territory all the way to full on scam by fleeing into the abyss. If that was the payoff then what was the point of even shoving a garbage product out at all? Should've just cancelled the game then disappear. Just seems very high effort for no reason.
I really love the design on them. I definitely would've bought these had they been available to buy at retail instead of having to make my own Horizon plates. Come on Sony ๐
I'm personally really excited for this. Kudos to Naughty Dog for adding more to this release. Though not too happy that the trailer had to remind me of RatKing ๐
Really wish more companies would just do open pre orders for their products; they make as many as they need and everyone that wants them can get them. Then if it does well they can just do another round later. Any time the word "limited" gets put on something that just opens it up to scalping.
That's always unfortunate but tbh at this point I'm way more surprised when a game doesn't have spoilers released. Guess I'll just have to live like a hermit again for a week and a half ๐
This game was one I was really looking forward to so I hope they drop more info on it soon. Though I hope they save the release for next year so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle, 2023 was just too stacked.
Looking great! While I always love the care and attention to detail Insomniac puts in I think the biggest question on everyone's mind is... how big are the puddles? ๐ค
I don't know if "unfinished" is entirely correct, I mean plenty of non live service games release unfinished or in poor states too these days. For most live service games (unfinished or not) I think it's more just the companies try to see what they can get away with, especially with greedy aggressive monetization. If nobody notices or speaks up about it then there's no way any of those companies would fix or change anything later on.
Really hope Guerrilla doesn't do the same for Horizon. As much as I love Sylens I would rather they just retire the character and give his role to another. Especially after the memorial they gave him in Burning Shores.
Not surprising, when they market products as "limited" this will always happen. It's still baffling why they release these things in such short supply, especially considering how long people have waited for unique plates. If they made enough product for everyone that wanted them they'd sell more and in turn make more money. ๐คทโโ๏ธ Oh well, I guess we'll see if more get made closer to Spidey's release.
It's nice to see the plates and dualsense being sold separately too. It's kinda weird that Sony haven't already been making unique plates for their first party ip. I would've bought Horizon ones. Hopefully that's a trend that continues. Just please don't make them Japan exclusive like the FF16 ones. ๐
Not too surprising but still kinda sad to see. I still prefer having a physical copy just for stability like in case there's an issue with the game's licensing later on then gets wiped off digital storefronts. Or if I need to sell it later it's nice to have that option. But I guess in a few years all the game companies will get what they always wanted; an end to the used video game market.
I personally really loved that game and would definitely play it again, but probably only if there's an upgrade path. I don't know if I could justify spending 70 bucks for it. It was incredible even on the base PS4, and looks and plays even better on PS5 already, so hopefully there's an upgrade option at least for PS owners.
I like it, but probably not for the right reasons lol It reminds me of some of the terrible, poorly thought out 90s-00s game boxart that you just don't see much of anymore.
If they're going to continue pc ports then at least the way they usually do it makes sense business wise. It doesn't interfere with the console side and gives devs more time to actually finish the product. Plus waiting until the games fall out of public relevance allows Sony to give those games a "new" boost and squeeze whatever's left out of them. ๐ค
I'd say I'm surprised or shocked, but I learned people can always go lower. It's weird, sad, and kinda pathetic, but stuff like this has almost become the new "normal".
Finally! It was kinda weird that you couldn't buy it standalone or upgrade the PS4 version before. I might choose to upgrade my PS4 copy eventually although I wish there was a way to upgrade the performance and graphical quality while still retaining Pete's original face ๐
Considering how tough it was for some to even get a PS5 in the first place (some recently at that) I can't imagine most would be to happy having to "upgrade" so soon.
I didn't feel it was that rushed tbh, it was built and executed well at least to me. For Aloy as a character and the growth she's had up to that point in the story it made the most sense to do it here. But kudos to Guerrilla for doing what they want to do. Though obviously they're probably going to get backlash or weird "outrage" from certain types of people which is always unfortunate. But still, thank you Guerrilla ๐ค
