Lara Croft is my favourite video game character of all time but even I couldn’t get through the first episode of this show. Hated the animation and no one cares about Jonah or Roth (please can we be done with them once and for all). They should focus 100% on Lara and forget about these dull side characters.
I’m actually done with ‘Survivor’ Lara in general tbh. It would have been fine to explore the survivor aspects in a single game but we didn’t need a whole trilogy of her whining and being a victim. Nobody wants a weak Lara who’s struggling with her mental health or whatever. We want fierce, intelligent Lara who’s a total badass and loves adventure. And she shouldn’t apologise for robbing tombs either.
I get it, she’s a woman and she should be a perfect role model… no. We need more morally grey female characters. Nobody cared that Nathan Drake was a treasure seeking a-hole. Why are women held to a different standard?
Nintendo can charge what they want because the wait between their first party games is so long, people are willing to pay anything just to have something to play.
Sony is going the same way, especially with all the live-service nonsense - their good first party games are scarce these days. We shouldn’t have to pay more because of their poor, misguided investments.
I’ll just wait for a sale or borrow the game off a friend.
I haven’t finished the main storyline yet but is it ever explained how we can play as two genetically unrelated characters? In the previous games you needed a genetic connection to replay the memories of your ancestors. Was this changed in AC Shadows?
AC Shadows. I’m not a fan of the modern RPG AC games (prefer Classic AC) but this game is great. I was worried that Yasuke would feel forced and pandering but it works. The dual characters doesn’t make sense (because how can you play as two genetically unrelated characters?). But the game feels more serious than the previous RPG AC games (none of the forced same-sex relationships which amount to nothing). As a gay person myself I hated the dlc retcon in Odyssey that forced a hetero encounter to make sense of the lineage aspect, when I had played the main game as a gay person. Obviously a gay person of that era could not continue the bloodline. Unless they changed the lore so anyone can access the memories of anyone without the genetic connection? I haven’t finished the main storyline in Shadows yet.
Worst casting in the history of tv shows. I liked Bella in GoT and have nothing against her as an actor but she is not Ellie. Pedro is not Joel. Thandiwe Newtons daughter is not Sarah. The show feels so inauthentic and more like a platform to promote those with the right connections. TLoU is one of the greatest games ever made and the tv show could and should have been so much more than this. But it’s been reduced to favouritism and nepotism. It’s a real shame.
9 from me and I’m not a big fan of the RPG AC games.
I’m addicted to the open world stuff in this game. 42 hours in and I haven’t even finished act 1 of the story. Capturing forts in stealth and doing the side stories is too much fun.
I know Ubisoft get a lot of hate (some of it justified) but this is the most polished AC game to date. So they have listened in that regard at least.
Plus, there’s no dlc roadmap yet either. But this is one AC game I’m actually looking forward to getting dlc for.
This HBO series is a bit of a bust tbh. S1 was terrible. They butchered the story and the casting was way off. They couldn’t have picked worse actors for the lead roles.
@ITZz3PICZz it wasn’t as big an issue as I feared tbf. I’ve just reached the point where you get to choose between characters at the push of a button (after spending 20 hours exploring the map as Naoe) and the second time playing as Yasuke was much better. Their play styles are so different but it works and stops the game from feeling repetitive. I also love what they’ve done with the story so far. It’s much more interesting than any of the other modern AC games.
I’m really enjoying it so far. It feels very polished (compared to previous EA games). Love Naoe’s gameplay. I’ve been avoiding progressing the story because I don’t want to play as Yasuke/Samurai gameplay.
Currently level 26 and just exploring the map, clearing out fortresses in stealth and upgrading my hideout.
Enjoying it way more than Valhalla and Odyssey so far.
Edit: Love the featured music during certain fights. It feels straight up Kill Bill inspired.
I will absolutely consider switching to Xbox next gen if Sony don’t get their act together. If their next gen console is cheaper, has a disc drive and comes with a stand in the box - sign me up.
I’ll keep my PS5 for exclusives, which will no doubt be backwards compatible for ‘next gen’ exclusives. Because without a disc drive, PS6 would be a massive downgrade as far as I’m concerned. The only benefit is that we can play slightly better versions of the games we can already play right now… eh 🤷
And Sony’s exclusive games aren’t nearly as strong as they were in the PS3 era anyway. Do we really need another reskinned, narratively safe, open-world collectathon that plays almost identically to the last one? It’s so safe and boring at this point. I can’t remember the last time I was excited for a PS exclusive. TLoU part 2 perhaps? And look how that turned out.
If they play their cards right, Microsoft have an opportunity to reclaim some of that lost ground and level the playing field again. I hope they do and I hope it serves to remind Sony of who they used to be and what they used to represent, which was not what they represent today (greed).
Stripping out the disc drive, the stand and charging $700… 😂 I want whatever Sony was smoking when they thought this was a good idea.
What does this mean for the PS6? They’re going to have a hard time trying to convince regular gamers and parents to spend this kind of money for such a minimal upgrade. Especially when the quality of their first party output isn’t what it used to be either.
Is it still successful though? I played it once at launch and didn’t like it. It felt like another MultiVersus (huge numbers at launch and a massive drop in player count).
I loved the modern controls in the I-III remaster. Felt a little weird at first but I wouldn’t play them any other way now. They improve the games so much.
I’m still working my way through TRIII so I’m hoping there will be a few patches before I start playing the new collection.
The trophy challenges were insane in the first trilogy so it didn’t bother me one bit that there were no platinums for the PS5 version. I was never going to get them all, so I decided to just play the games for fun and not worry about the trophies one bit.
It did disrupt my plans but glad it was only one day.
Not like when my internet went down a few months ago for 9 days (on my week off) because some numpty decided to cut all the cables for the entire street when they were trimming their hedges.
I didn’t get any compensation from the service provider because it wasn’t their fault and there was a clause in the contract to that effect.
@Jessicolonthree Thanks. My PS5 is already set to primary but I can’t enable offline play because ‘We’re doing some maintenance on PSN right now. Please try again later.’ So it looks like I’m just going to have to wait ☹️
I only just found out about this because I was playing the Tomb Raider Remastered Trilogy and a message popped up saying, ‘This application will be suspended in 15 minutes as we are unable to verify the license.’ What fresh hell is this???
Angel of Darkness had so much potential but it was released in a really poor state. The atmosphere, music and art direction were great though. Can’t wait to play the remaster.
Honestly, it’s been so long since I completed the other games, I barely remember anything that happened. I feel like I’d want to replay them all again before starting this new one and I just can’t be bothered. I might pick it up when it’s in a sale
I don’t buy games at all anymore tbh, physical or digital.
I pay a monthly fee to rent new games (discs) and any other games I play are F2P (Fortnite, Dreamlight Valley).
The last game I bought was the Tomb Raider 1-3 remaster in February 2024 and that was only because it was digital only (a physical version was released months later).
If the option to rent discs ever goes away I’ll probably only play the F2P games. Anything else I would wait until they were 50-75% off in a sale.
I would never spend £70 on a digital game. Not a chance.
Finishing Dragon Age The Veilguard, which is surprisingly good. Also thinking about buying Telltale’s The Expanse in the sale. Plus Fortnite and Dreamlight Valley in between.
I also have Alan Wake 2 to finish but the silly Waitress dlc mission really broke the flow and I haven’t played the game now for over a month. Not sure if I’ll even finish it but we’ll see. Wish I could have played the game without the dlc integrated into it. It really ruined the mood.
Excellent. Lots of surprises. I kept waiting for the GTA VI trailer and thought they might sneak it in at the end but no. That would have made it the greatest awards show ever but even without it, it was still excellent.
Erdtree probably. My choice would be Astrobot but as much as I liked it, I’m not sure it’s GOTY worthy. I preferred Playroom tbh. I think it just goes to show what an average year it has been for gaming. Some good games but no truly great ones.
I dread the day when physical media is gone and we’re all held at the mercy of Sony’s terrible digital prices. I think I’ll only play Fortnite and Dreamlight Valley when that day comes 😂 At least until there are heavy discounts on psn.
I missed it sadly but I’m not a huge fan of any of the artists involved. If it had been Gaga, Britney, Madonna Ari and Miley, I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Can’t wait for the new season tomorrow 😁
I bought a PS4 Pro on day one but I won’t be buying a PS5 Pro. The price with no disc drive and no stand just feels cheeky. I can wait for the PS6, which will probably cost a grand and come without a Dualsense or cables (all sold separately).
Strange that they don’t have level/mission select like the older games. It’s like when they removed character creation from the LEGO Star Wars Saga game. That was a feature my Nephews enjoyed most and they still play LEGO Villains (and one of the Marvel games) for the character creation even now. They haven’t touched LEGO Star Wars since they finished the main story.
I only really knew Snoop from the movie Pitch Perfect 2 (‘Groovy like a drive-in movie!’ 😎). But I recognise some of his older songs. Ice Spice, I don’t know her. M&M, I don’t want to know her.
The rappers are front and centre in the trailer but you can ignore them for the most part in the actual game.
Most of the locations are the same as they were originally. And it’s great to be back on the best map with the best weapons.
@KundaliniRising333 but the number of gamers visiting gaming sites like this one are a minority of the overall number of gamers. So 80% of the minority are ‘haters for the sake of hating.’
You’ll find the majority of people visiting sites like this one are overwhelmingly anti-live service (and view live service games as a cancer of the gaming industry). So their opinion is heavily biased and the result of the poll isn’t surprising in the least.
Most of the people voting haven’t played it and don’t intend to play it (watching videos on YouTube doesn’t count).
If Push Square published reviews without playing a game but based on watching a few videos on YouTube, we’d all think it was dumb. Because it is. How can you review a game (or form an opinion of it) without playing it?

Mariah has hits for dayz. Get some real talent up in here Epic Games!
Re: Poll: What Are Your Most Anticipated PS5 Games of 2025?
Yotei and Tomb Raider. The others I can take or leave.
No way GTA6 is coming next year. We still have 12 months of random screenshots to endure (if they follow the GTA5 marketing strategy).
Feel like we’re due another Ratchet & Clank game too tbh.
