Re: Two Point Museum (PS5) - Laugh Out Loud Tycoon Title Is Well Worth the Entry Fee

HappyGamerGirl

I bought Hospital and Campus+DLC together on a big sale year or so ago...to my shame, I played a few hours of hospital but have yet to even load up Campus, it being in my most embarrassing category, the 'bought but unplayed' collection! Alongside the likes of Alan Wake II, Persona 3 Reloaded, Metaphor, FFVII Rebirth....oh my god. And that doesn't even touch the indie and AA stuff of which there is much more...Dredge, Spiritfarer, Cult of the Lamb....etc etc.

So definitely need to stay away from this however good it is until I've dabbled properly in the other two.

Re: Ex-Sony Exec Says PC Ports of Old PS5 Games Are Almost Like Printing Money

HappyGamerGirl

Go ask the PC crowd how they're going to feel 'waiting just a year' to play GTA VI. You won't get an honest answer from most of them, but they'll know.

I wouldn't want to wait three months to play that somewhere else, whatever kind of PC set-up I had. And this works for many other games. The whole 'why on earth would you play console if you can wait and get it on PC' is ludicrous. I hear you can buy year old movies very cheap, I can't wait to watch next year all those movies I'm looking forward to this year etc etc

Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Tops 2 Million Sales in Two Weeks

HappyGamerGirl

@ApostateMage Likewise! Green outfit is stealth, Yellow is for strolling and posing, and if you see the Red outfit you're probably already dead.

Strangely, despite all the discourse, after those initial hours I haven't found it tough at all. And I'm definitely NOT a hardcore 'git gud' type of gamer. Could be because I spend so long on the side stuff that I'm over levelled for the time being and it will catch up with me. At around 65 hours and only just got the second map open.

Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Tops 2 Million Sales in Two Weeks

HappyGamerGirl

@Ravix My Henry is such a smooth talker that he didn't even get a weight penalty for a certain stealth mission that seems to be troubling a lot of players, and thanks to all the houses I'd broken into and crept about in by that point, his stealth got him past the stupid amount of guards that mission threw in his way!

Re: PS Plus Copies of Days Gone Won't Offer Cheap $10 Upgrade to New PS5 Version

HappyGamerGirl

They've missed out on a load of easy money and players then. I got this on PS+ when they gave it away, not the Extra version, and still haven't got round to playing it. As others have said, I too would have paid the tenner for the upgrade, zero chance I'm gonna pay full price for a free game I've already got sitting there unplayed.

I suspect this will be reversed, as we had the same thing with death stranding, ghosts of tsushima etc

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

HappyGamerGirl

@DennisReynolds if i see any decent dice that my opponent uses, I follow them to see where they live, then break in overnight and take them, along with their clothes and everything else. And yep, they emerge the next day wearing rags if you do that! I sometimes just kill them...then they don't emerge.

I accidently slept in wrong bed at the herb woman's, and was so annoyed at being woken and shouted at a couple of hours later that I beat her to death with a club and took and threw her body in the nearby river. Now her house is my house.

This was after I rescued her daughter, so unfortunately for her she suffered the same fate when the noise woke her up.

Got a nice surprise when I took her keys and opened their chest though. Loads of many different potions, along with the recipes for them. I have no need to do the alchemy anymore but still, nice of them to leave all that for me, right?!

This game.... 🙂

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

HappyGamerGirl

10/10 after nearly 50 hours, and I haven't even got that far into the 'main' storyline, which I'm not even following too much tbh...just enjoying the quests, the tasks, the character progression and the sandbox.

Special shout out to the thievery - breaking into homes and robbing them of everything, including of course the key to their 'very hard' lockpickable chest, never gets old. Nor does chatting to and then killing randoms on the trails between locations. And the law system works properly - no materialising cops here - if no-one sees you, and you don't do anything dumb with any stolen stuff you take, then you get away with it. I love that.

It's like the best parts of Witcher 3, Skyrim and Dragon's Dogma, all rolled into one (minus dragons!)

Re: Poll: Did the PSN Outage Ruin Your Gaming Plans Over the Weekend?

HappyGamerGirl

I was on Kingdom Come 2 pretty much all of the outage and no issues whatsoever, AND I'm all digital for those disc owners who weirdly seem to think that digital gamers were left high and dry by this. I didn't even notice!

And Kingdom Come? Wow. Long time since I've bought a game on launch, and even longer since I've been up to the early hours every day playing it.

Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (PS5) - Immersive Knight Sim Makes for a Peerless RPG

HappyGamerGirl

@lazarus11 yeah only greyed out during combat, conversations and cutscenes though.

Anytime you're just wandering the open world you can save and quit. I think in forty or so hours of play I've only used a couple of schnapps potions to test them out really. Other than that mostly save and quits and some sleeps.

Best part of my improving Henry stats? Wolves no longer an issue! 🙂

Re: PSN Slowly Coming Back Online After 20-Hour, Worldwide Outage on PS5, PS4

HappyGamerGirl

@BigBadV so you can pause and 'save and quit' anywhere you like outside of combat or cut scenes. Takes a couple of seconds at most to reload when you continue.

No potions or beds needed.

Unsure why so people playing kcd2 appear not to have realised this yet. Including many critical reviews who labour on the whole 'cant save when I want' point soo much, whilst being wrong.

Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Immediately Sells 1 Million Copies

HappyGamerGirl

@Throb No I know you weren't, but that's why I was keen to explain more!

Lots of reviews out there are probably putting people off because they don't mention this way of saving and people rightly think they risk losing hours or progress. Sure, you're saving 'out of game' if you like, rather than the immersion of using a potion or a bed, but in practical terms it's the same, it's more flexible, and takes a couple of seconds.

Unsure why almost no reviews are mentioning it.

Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Immediately Sells 1 Million Copies

HappyGamerGirl

@Throb Yes, by choosing 'savs and exit' and then 'continue', you can effectively do a manual save anywhere. You certainly aren't tied to having to find a bed or use a potion.

So I really don't know why people are making so much fuss about a restrictive save system or losing hours of progress etc. I've even read several reviews saying the same thing, which just goes to show how little they bothered to check or find out about the game.

My favourite game for a long time, and I say that as someone who often drops the difficulty level when I have the option! So the talk of how hard KCD2 is isn't right either.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

HappyGamerGirl

I think it's utterly brilliant. Looks and runs amazing on my Pro.

Some people that don't like it seem to be getting angry and very keen to post how much they don't like it and I'm not sure why? I hope it's not because it got a 10/10 because, thank goodness, we don't all like the same things!

Eurogamer is the same...anyone daring to say how much they like the game is being shot down. It's very odd behaviour.

Re: The State of the UK's Physical Games Market Might Explain PS5 Pro's Lack of Disc Drive

HappyGamerGirl

Most people who buy digital never pay the often quoted £69.99 because it's trivial to get store credit for around 15% off ie bringing said price under £60. It's a false narrative that's often spread when people talk about 'digital I would have to pay £70, I paid x for a disc.' and if you stack that discount with sales, which is when I buy most of my games, then even more affordable.

In any event, I'm all digital and love the convenience and I also have 3 consoles across two locations that I can access all my games on instantly at any time. How would I do that with discs? It's a great perk of digital that isn't often mentioned!

Re: This New Xbox Controller Looks Exactly Like a PS5 Pad

HappyGamerGirl

It's vile and unnecessary, especially when the Xbox pad layout is actually decent - I remember in the days of my 360 I preferred the comfort of that to whatever model of dualshock Sony were at back then.

But after a couple of months adapting to the DualSense (I have small hands and it felt too big holding it at first...🤭 ) it's now easily my favourite and most comfortable controller ever.

Re: Helldivers 2's Creative Director's Latest Comments Have Landed Him in Hot Water

HappyGamerGirl

@RBMango Resetera is one of the most intolerant gaming forums going, permbans for even expressing a single opinion against the hive mind. They even make Eurogamer, the site that for a while tried to pretend Harry Potter didn't exist, seem relatively balanced.

And yet the very intolerance of groups like that is also the thing that is going to bring about their downfall over the next year or so. I like that.

Re: Game of the Year: #8 - Dragon's Dogma 2

HappyGamerGirl

Only got round to playing this a couple of weeks ago on my Pro and I love it! No performance or graphical issues on that console, and so far as the gameplay goes, I'm really enjoying the combat, the pawns, the exploration, the progression. The thin narrative doesn't bother me, it's just not what this type of game is about imo.

One of my most enjoyable games of the year (although I do have Metaphor, Rebirth and Ragnarok on the 'installed but not yet played' backlog so any of those could top it in due course)
