@ShadowRJ I hear you. I’m not a forensic gamer either. That being said, I won’t buy 30fps games really anymore. It’s 2026 and for the price, to play sluggish 30, just not willing to do it. But that’s just me.
I’d rather games be smaller in scope and run well than be huge and not.

The only PS5 blackout in my house will be because of real life: kids and work commitments.

If you don’t like PlayStation anymore then don’t play. Article after article of the same old sh*t.

The big thing for me is consumer rights. I’m cool with digital games and only have digital games. Consumer rights need to improve in this area.
But it’s a first world problem!

@Jacko11 I’ve completed it on PC as I didn’t fancy the 30fps PS4 version. It’s such a great, old fashion game. Probably 9/10 for me due to the story etc. really good news to hear this might be getting an upgrade.

I just enjoy gaming for what it is.

It’s all a first world problem and I just like playing the games. All Sony owe people is what they’ve paid for; digital ownership and rights are the bigger picture.

There are a lot of people on a PlayStation website repeatedly stating they are ‘done’ with PlayStation. Another article comes out and they are still here saying they are done.
Look, it’s kinda sad about discs but it was always heading this way. I agree with Cheesy Oatcake that digital ownership and rights is the bigger issue.
I also game on PC and that’s all digital and £1000+ for a PC. It’s horses for courses but it makes no sense to leave PS for PC just because PS is going all digital.
This is all a first world problem it really is.

The Xbox influencers seem to want to kill any hype for this game on PS5. It would be simpler for Xbox to take its games back to its platform tbh.

Sad but inevitable. I moved to 100% digital this gen for many reasons I’ve said many times.
People can move to PC but that’s been all digital for much longer!
The only thing I want really is for other retailers to stock digital PS games now.

@OpheliaDynamight I agree. The UK CMA tried its best and was met with ridicule by Microsoft and those on Pure Xbox forums. It’s played out exactly how it was always going to.

AAA gaming is becoming so expensive it’s on the verge of death.
A £1000-£1500 console is dead on arrival.

@cainhurst94 GamePass could be a good idea with tight limitations. The basic package with online gaming and a select number of older first party games at a cheap price makes sense. But to develop and then put new AAA on there and not charge £60 or whatever and to pay other studios to put games on there too is just pure madness. To give away COD, one of the biggest games on the planet, is totally insane.
We knew it would all end in tears and there is a derelict studio somewhere with a sticker on the front door: THIS IS AN EX-BOX.
Insane.

@cainhurst94 it’s been a weird generation for sure. I did like the Series S though and thought it a good entry into the ecosystem.
Game Pass was always too good to be true… can’t keep giving away new AAA games at no extra cost to a not really expanding number of punters. How can they make money? They didn’t.
I like Xbox, I like the Series consoles and I like the games they make. But Microsoft has run it into the ground and taken so many jobs and studios with it.
Not putting E-Day on PS5 absolutely blows my mind.

Years ago I called out the massive merger as bad for the industry and and got publicly ridiculed on Pure with people saying **** the UK CMA and gimme all these ‘free games’ on my GP sub…
These acquisitions have been terrible for Xbox and worse for the studios and employees losing their livelihoods. This is absolutely terrible.

It will be a shame if they don’t bring the series over from now on, but it won’t stop me buying this one because I can still enjoy the one game and I will have got the game I’ve paid for…
Microsoft does need to sort its position out though. Halo deserves to come back in from the cold and multi platform multiplayer next entry could do that.

@11001100110zero Dirt 5 is an under the radar arcade rally game. Really good fun. I’d recommend Grid: Legends too.

@trev666 yeah. It’s a shame and I do think that will impact sales. No multiplayer and no forward investment in the series as no further games are coming to PS5. Strange half in/half out strategy by Xbox. Problem is, how to put the genie back in the bottle. Halo, Gears and Forza have now been on PS5.

We are massively in an era of diminishing returns now graphics wise. I like nice graphics of course but I did so 5 years ago as well… machines and software budgets getting ever more expensive for not much more juice. I’d be quite happy for graphics to not improve further at all from today if it meant cheaper games, consoles/PC and new ideas games wise.

On to the actual game… I’ve got this preordered. Cannot wait for a proper Bond game! Licence to thrill!

EDIT: I do have the Pro as I traded in my base and really like it. But it is expensive.

@EvilBear what’s it like on Switch 2? I can’t find too many reviews which cover performance etc.,
For the right price, I think it looks different and charming.

@Ryu_Niiyama I hear you. I just see games as games. Just want to play them and don’t want a load of plastic and digital downloads on a plastic beer mat in my house. I might be stupid but the disc is just a digital key now right?
I’ve not a single physical game in house despite gaming since Spectrum, Mega Drive and beyond.
I play PC, PS5 Pro and Switch 2 and love my digital collection.
I have books and Vinyl at home but they are physical, tangible things and vinyl sounds better than digital with great artwork… I don’t see gaming the same way. I view physical media for games pointless in 2026. More choice of digital store is all I want! Sony need to be on Loaded/CD Keys!!!

I’m a massive Forza Horizon fan. Have 4 on PC and 5 on PC and PS5 Pro.

Really looking forward to 6 as the setting should be incredible. Tokyo at night etc.

Really sad for others that 4 is delisted as the UK setting with Top Gear missions etc is chef’s kiss. One of my favourite games ever.

This article is ridiculous. This game looks incredible in my opinion at a good price for an AAA game. The original is excellent but to modernise the graphics, controls and frame rate for this generation should be applauded in my opinion. Not derided. I will put it out there and say I like Ubisoft games! This game will sell well. It’s pirates innit. 😉

@Theamazing1 I agree. Games now constantly have updates and patches via download so I can’t see that you ever get a full game on a disc anyway. I don’t see the problem.

I will buying on digital anyway and I’m actually pretty excited by this remake.
It’s another reason why I don’t bother with discs anymore. I’m not bothered about resell and I’m happy to buy online and just download. More choice of retailer would be nice. Sony don’t even sell on Loaded like Microsoft and sometimes Nintendo do. Can buy cheap credit on there though.
I’ve been used to digital library on Steam for so long and don’t like the physical clutter.

I’m still on Arc. Really great game especially at a budget price. Looks excellent on the Pro (and budget PC!)

These look straight-up amazing. I’m happy to buy digital games but am happy to buy the odd physical guide as a collector’s item. The Zelda BOTW hardback guide for example is beautiful.

@CutchuSlow I don’t know. I only play base game as DLC characters seem so expensive unless I’m missing something? It would cost £15 per season?
