PS5's hit online multiplayer title ARC Raiders is set to receive a major update soon, and with that comes support for PS5 Pro's upgraded PSSR tech.
Tomorrow, 28th April 2026, Embark Studios is releasing update 1.26 for its popular extraction shooter, and a big part of the patch is concerned with boosting the game's visuals on PS5 Pro.
The upgraded PSSR upscaling technology is being implemented, giving the game an even cleaner look on Sony's beefy console.
Over on the PS Blog, Embark's Robert Kihl explains the benefits.
"The upgraded PSSR brings a range of meaningful improvements that PS5 Pro players will notice immediately, particularly in the demanding, detail-rich environments that Arc Raiders is known for," he says.
The tech reduces visual hitches like flickering and shimmering, handles moving objects better than "traditional upscaling techniques", and reduces ghosting on particle effects.

This coincides with the Riven Tides update, also out tomorrow, which introduces a new map, enemy type, items, and more.
It's all systems go if you're still playing ARC Raiders, then, especially for PS5 Pro players.

I haven't really touched ARC since Marathon came out, but I might need to boot it back up to try the new map!
@wildcat_kickz same here bud. I have tried it on my pro and it was already looking sharper than the base ps5. I should return to it as I really have neglected sporanza but marathon became my go to extraction shooter.
@Northern_munkey I foresee a squad-up in our future π
Most likely the same with the system toggle on currently.
Not to sound ungrateful but just PSSR? They easily have some spare headroom for a few other setting bumps, right? This game is extremely scalable (well done dev team!)
@SEVENTEENSOILS doesnβt the game have some higher settings on the pro already?
@Reeneman I don't know what the specifics are, but yes, ARC has been listed as "Pro supported" since it was launched.
@Reeneman I am pretty sure it's one of the "Pro Enhanced" games that basically just runs at a higher resolution with otherwise identical settings to base PS5. There are sadly a lot in the "Enhanced" list that just go with this bare minimum - some even just pushing higher numbers with DRS rather than actual, bespoke improvements.
Edit: insert Trump"WRONG".gif - there are improvements in draw distance and GI already. Silly me.
@wildcat_kickz always good to go.
@SEVENTEENSOILS I think the lighting is much better than the base ps5 and I'm pretty sure the foliage is denser in some areas such as the swamps. It felt smoother too.
@Northern_munkey Yep. You're right - I just checked. Some improved draw distance and bumped GI setting. Forgive me, I've had about 2 hours sleep over the past 3 days π
@SEVENTEENSOILS alls good mate. We have to rely on ourselves for information from time to time π
