This reminds me of back when the original Baldur's Gate was announced and people thinking it looked too good to possibly ever live up to expectations. Now we all know how the end result of that turned out, and hopefully this game ends up sharing a similar story.

A turn-based, norse themed, tactical RPG developed by a Norwegian studio.
Yuuuup. This is now on my radar.

I love my PS5, but now that I think about it, other than Astro's Playroom, I still haven't played a single game on it that I couldn't have played on PS4. 🤔
To be fair though, I should also add that I did purchase Final Fantasy XVI, but simply haven't played it yet.

@Kanji-Tatsumi I really enjoyed Signalis. Not sure if that is one you tried or not.

The multiplayer in the original was far from perfect, but still quite a good time, so I wouldn’t mind seeing it come back in this release.

Absolutely loved Fallout and Fallout 2.
Really enjoyed Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
Fallout Tactics was okay-ish.

For whatever reason, I just didn’t care for Fallout 4. It just did not feel like a Fallout game to me.

Are you sure that you didn’t mean DQ as in Dairy Queen? Embarrassing oneself in the most messy way possible sounds like something I would do at a Dairy Queen.

@MidnightDragonDX Oh, on that note, yeah, also crazy that they haven’t even told us what consoles it will be on yet. Being a Switch exclusive wouldn’t bother me personally since I have one, but hopefully it comes to PlayStation as well.

The long wait for Dragon Quest III HD-2D after the 2021 reveal is even more baffling to me than this.

I would love to see a sequel eventually, but a bigger part of me kind of wants to see Vanillaware keep doing new things.

Shame on me for still not knowing better with SMT V, but I am officially done buying any of these games at their original release…

@Meowmixes98 I initially thought that as well. Val seems to be the Marth of the Mana series in this respect. 🙂
Game looks awesome. I loved Secret of Mana on SNES as a kid. I also thought the Trials of Mana remake on Switch was great.

I am going to have to go with Space Marine 2. I have been waiting over 12 years to see the continuation of that storyline.

@rockodoodle I never played FX, but so far so good with this one. Since the Elder Gods table is free you got nuthin’ to lose (except your sanity, mortal).

I grabbed this the other night and have been enjoying it a lot. The Elder Gods table is great (especially since it is free). I am likely going to spend some money on this though since The Thing is one of my all-time favorite movies and Duke Nukem 3D is my favorite FPS game.

I never played the original, so I am very happy I will have the chance to play this version.

The more Dragon Quest we get in the west, the better. If it releases in the US, I will definitely buy it.

For whatever reason the first Dragon's Dogma just didn't grip me and as a result I never played through the whole thing. I really expected to like it too since it pretty much ticked every box for what I look for in games. Despite this, I will still most likely try this one out because wow... this looks incredible!

@ThaBEN For sure! Ever since Mortal Kombat (2011), the MK series has been the best fighting game series in terms of single player kontent.

My Switch got busted out for the first time in a while because F-Zero 99 is going to be my life for a bit.

I still miss the 4 player tag team mode from Mortal Kombat 2011. That was so much fun.

I am in the same boat. The original Baldur's Gate is easily in my top 5 favorite games of all time. I have no idea how many times I have played through the entire game, but I can safely say that number is in the double digits. As for Baldur's Gate II, I have never been able to play through the entire game. I liked it, but it never grabbed me the same way as the first.

Baldur's Gate 3 looks and sounds amazing, but I am still hesitant as I did not really care for Divinity: Original Sin at all. It is a very well received game that I figured I would love, but for some reason I just did not find it all that fun.

That absurdly over-the-top fatality was even more entertaining with the descriptive audio. Love it.

@RadioHedgeFund For sure. The first game had the best setting and time period, but hasn’t aged all that well.

The talks about remakes of FFVI and Chrono Trigger come up quite frequently, but, in my opinion, they would both be pretty tough to remake as they are both nearly perfect games that have aged extremely well.

@wiiware If it helps, I feel like it was well worth what they are currently charging for it.

@wiiware I played it quite a bit last night. The gameplay mechanics are solid and the roguelike elements are pretty well implemented, but I can already see that the content is limited enough that it probably won’t take long to unlock and see everything. I feel like this would be a good game to build upon for a sequel as there is a lot of potential.

I am pretty stoked for this. Hopefully it is on par with Streets of Rage 4 and Shredder’s Revenge, both of which were fantastic.

I LOVED the first one and sunk many hours into it on my Xbox One. Now that this can finally be played on PS5 I may have to pick it up.

I would love to be playing it, but I am at work, aaaand my copy doesn’t arrive in the mail until tomorrow.

Will there be a review for this game? I am somewhat on the fence about this game but was curious as to what PushSquare thinks of it as your reviews tend to be pretty solid.

@Ashina The Gilgamesh character was done so well in FFV. Every encounter with him is rather humorous, and I got to enjoy seeing him so much that the last encounter with him actually made me get a little emotional.
FFV isn't my favorite in the series by any means, but it definitely has its shining moments.

TotK, SF6, and Diablo IV all releasing in the weeks prior is what has made the last stretch of this wait especially difficult.

I am glad to hear that early impressions of this game have been very positive, as this game’s imminent release is the reason I still haven’t purchased Tears of the Kingdom, Street Fighter 6, or Diablo IV.
