@Tatarimokke yep. I can VR for hours, yet this game just gets to me. I am colorblind, i wonder if the expressive tones may also have something to do with it, how my brain interprets what my eyes see. Thanks for the assist
Bought borderlands 4 and dying light: the beast. So naturally, I am now playing gow ragnarok NG+ run. Man, I need a narrative single player game, not made in UE5. Please? On a side note, looking for the worst laggy lcd screen to play bloodborne on. Bloodborne + OLED = headaches. I buggered my right eye with rugby many years ago, and with the mutifocals i have to use now, i really struggle
I want to mention AC Shadows, and how graphic/visual features have been integrated into core gameplay. RTGI is an integral gameplay metric (i play on pro, balanced) where the RT eyecandy actually serves a gameplay purpose (dynamic shadows, etc). Personally, i dont need native 4k60, if the available power is used to innovate/augment gameplay. This is where i hope to see future innovation (I understand the Gpu carries all the dynamic weather loads). What will devs come up with next?
@lazarus11 thanks man. I have ‘the’ sword already and Brunswick armor. These ‘instakills’ started only on 2nd map, so i figure it must be a skill issue on my side. I have great armor, master strike etc. what gets me is the bandit camps when if more than 3 guys come at me, im guaranteed dead man
Still KCD2. My professional life is chaos, so i enjoy the slower pace. Yes, i still struggle with the combat, and for the life of me i dont get the sometime 1 hit kills (me being the victim). So learning about armor, etc. and putting in the miles on Pebbles for his upgrade. And GT7 on VR. So so good. The new F3500 is the experience i dreamed off when i bought Geoff Crammonds GP2 in 1996. The ability to see the apex is so so cool, and helps with the laptimes
So few mentions of wilds. Interesting. About 50h into KCD2, feel i have a good handle on the various systems, so the gameplay feels more ‘natural’ than at the start
@Darude84 i played new character all the way to the end, prior to the last two main game bosses before I jumped in. I struggled in the shadow world, so finished the main game, and started a NG+ run. The expansion did not go to NG+ (logical i think, as I did not finish it). So if you are on the fence, go into the shadows, see how it is. If you have the headroom/timeroom for a NG+ start, i can say i enjoyed the hell out of the vengeance i dealt up to the DLC
Preordered for delivery on … 13 December, subject to inbound logistics (South Africa). Good things come to those who wait (i tell myself as I watch and read all the reviews/updates).
@QiaraIris second that. Not being facetious here, but for many games in Assassins Creed it was totally cool to experience new leads, as we got to experience such different worlds from pirates to pyramid surfing to pope assassinations; i have just started GoT for my first playthrough, and even though it took me about 10h to click, i am so comfortable in the world, growing the legend of the ghost. Great games will always be great games, haters be damned.
@Fishnpeas good morning! Fully agree, my logic is that if I upgrade, I’d not buy a 30 series card, and here in SA, it is actually easier to get hands on 40 series. And i just prefer the simplicity of a dedicated gaming system over a PC. I already have my work laptop and mac mini connected to my display
For sure I will pre order it. In my country this costs less than a decent 40series graphics card and i can give my ps5 to one of my kids. Some upgrade is due in my house, this makes the most sense
I had my son’s market day yesterday (2h of selling whatever at school, he decided to take my psvr2 and charge ZAR20 (USD1) per pistol whip run - 3 deaths or stage complete. My watch told me I burnes crazy calories just from standing behind the kids! In recovery, taking it slow in Outlaws. I think the hate is just not justified. Its not perfect, not was I expecting it, but the sense of place is so on point
@MegaManX-7 hello there. Not sure if you’ve seen the Moza range? They have a killer entry level DD set. Pedals are not great (still thrustmaster level so all good). I am in South Africa, and the bundle cost 30 - 50% more than a T300RS. I play on a T300RS, with a gt elite folding chair; i mainly play GT7, and all racing games via PSVR2 (the only use I have for PSVR2). Even non VR games (F1, ACC, etc) still works really well in PSVR2 cinema mode. Yes, the resolution is not great, but at max zoom level, you still end up moving your head to look at the apex. So good fun
@Rich33 I fully agree with you. “If the PS5 version is just as slick and performs just as well”. To quote Max Verstappen, if my mom had balls she’d be my dad.
My ninja sorcerer (i know) is at level 160, and waiting; for some reason i got hooked, nay biking in days gone. Enjoying the hell out of it. A game does not need to be perfect to be perfect for some moments
@Kyushutrail i was there, i gave up half way through chapter 3 first time around. But Arthur kept popping into my head, i restarted it after a few months away, and probably not a day goes by that i dont think about Arthur, or listen to the sound track. Give it its due, and it will pay back in kind tenfold over
After reaching the haligtree in my prep run, i have paused, and turned to backlog. Having swine flu is a great argument for mid week gaming, so finished Diablo 4 and almost done with phantom liberty
Diablo 4 (eternal realm) as my podcast/netflix game, cyberpunk in the evenings. I tried fallout 4, but bloody hell, the facial animations after a cyberpunk run…i couldnt. And then getting gud in sekiro (i know, but ive never finished it) while waiting for 21.06… the day of days
From South Africa, using a conversion of ZAR 20:1 USD. A PS5 with disk drive and extra controller costs approx USD700. An RTX 4070 12gb model (not the 16gb super) costs more. That is for only the GPU, nothing else. From my corner of the world even at USD 300 premium over the base model it is still a bargain for what we get. Not taking into account the extreme ease of use, not having to deal with windows, per game driver updates, poor ports etc.
@Olmaz I am playing through TLOU part 1, prepping for TLOU2 remaster. This made me wonder about SM2 and the dialogue around being too safe. For all the hate it received, did TLOU2 not do exactly that - playing as ‘unsafe’ as one possibly can. And what was the result (it did win PS game of the year for 2020). But man, the hate and negativity around it was insane. Is it an experience sony wants to relive? Will Marvel allow such plot points? I dont know.
This reminds me so much of music, my love for death metal; a genre that is not made for mass consumption, but it gives me what I need. Unless you are vintage Opeth, not gonna please the diehards.
@ErrantRob. Much appreciated, and good to know. I appreciate what the devs gave us, and their post launch dedication! i just need to give it time to breathe i suppose.
Recommended starting class? I’ve always played FROM melee first, then follow up with sorcerer builds on subsequent play through.
Edit: fixed syntax
Playing through TLOU part 1, slowly, in prep for part 2 remaster. Also Lies of P, it clicked immediately, cannot say the same for lords of the fallen. And then AC odyssey. I think I finally get how to play. I am a character in a world, not the character in the world where everything revolves around me. I am just trying to figure out what happened to my family. This does not mean I have to complete every mission, kill every mercenary or area leader, fight every battle, clear every outpost. I exist in this world and I have options. Depending on my mood i may do different things. The game does not expect me to do everything. But if i want, I can.
The big 2.0. Needed some time to get into it, somewhat like a soulsborne, once I reached the point where I did not have to consciously think about how to play, it stepped up a gear. And then there is lots of office stuff that carried over into the weekend…sucks!
@RBMango howdy. With you there. The thing that made me think a bit harder about this is rdr2, which i am currently playing through. I am still flabbergasted that the base PS4 could run that game, and then thinking that a PS5 has (correct me if I am wrong) 10 x the power of the base PS4, who knows what may he possible if the pipeline is properly designed.
@theheadofabroom I was in that same headspace, somehow ended up installing AC odyssey…. Really struggling to get into GoT, but I’ve heard that the game does take some time to get its teeth into you

@lazarus11 i figured out how dodge works last night. As you say, a big improvement. Also found some new training guys that I will work with.
