The news of DLC has inspired me to start another playthrough of this gem and putting it in Watanabe mode just adds a great vibe to the exploration.

Can it maintain a solid 60fps yet?

@Mes_Urson agreed! There is something to be said about setting realistic expectations. I went in expecting cheese and a good time and that's what I got. I will say the second was a big improvement over the first one.

@Mes_Urson haha people certainly have opinions about the new Mortal Kombat movies (I for one love them) but Joe Taslim's eyebrows carried the first movie!

Fun little anecdotal story regarding Bruce Lee. In my younger years I trained in Uechi-Ryu and there was a photo of Bruce Lee in the dojo and I just thought it was a reference to one of the greats.

WRONG. It was very much intentional. My sensei's sensei was a fellow by the name of Jim Maloney who got to know Bruce when Bruce visited Boston in the late 60s and studied Uechi-Ryu.

Always thought that was pretty neat.

@Llamageddon oh yeah, I've seen the raid movies as well as Ong Bak 1, 2 and The Protector. Enjoyed them all.

@Mes_Urson I was also a huge fan of Flashpoint. That fight with him and Collin Chou at the end is just chef's kiss. Are you a fan of Joe Taslim? If so, I highly recommend The Night Comes For Us.

I haven't seen many Indonesian action movies but this one ranks high up there for me with the few I have.

@Mes_Urson I was just about to say this. I was already sold on this game when I saw the first trailer but to find out that Donnie Yen and his stunt team helped out with the choreography has me more excited!

@GirlVersusGame I used to play a lot of Unreal Tournament back in my teen years, absolutely loved it. Did you ever play Unreal?

I never heard of Quake until the first time I saw it at a friend's place. This was years ago too when it was more popular. And yes, I wouldn't say it was due to ignorance, it just wasn't marketed as strongly.

@SMJ or maybe Quake isn't as popular or relevant as Doom has been with younger generations.

Calling someone ignorant for not knowing of a game's existence just comes off as, well, ignorant.

@GirlVersusGame that is a lot to take in, not a criticism about your length of comment there's just a lot of information you gave.

It's ways the higher ups who make the bad decisions where the little guy has to handle the fallout. It's definitely the darkest timeline for the devs.

Layoffs, outsourcing, all of it is disgusting. There's this stigma right now that the eastern devs/publishers don't do layoffs and that's simply untrue. They do layoffs, they'll just layoff staff they have in the Americas or Europe as they don't have the protections they have in countries like Japan.

Japan won't lay off their staff, they'll just send you to a room to do nothing all day or refuse any new work to give you until you quit out of shame or boredom. Honestly, I'd rather be laid off then quit my job out of shame.

Your comment did give me a bit of a chuckle at the jelly of the month club reference. My workplace gives out shirts with our Christmas bonus, but we get a nice bonus cheque with it as well!

@Ainu20 I am not wasting any emotional energy on this by being frustrated, angry, whatever have you by this. The majority of my games are digital, I have no stake in this "ahhh muh physical games!" argument. I feel for the collectors but their (Sony) decision will have no weight on how my games get delivered.

While I will admit they could have handled it better than total media silence, they don't have to address anything.

They know people are pissed. If they do address it they will get nothing short of being ripped to shreds for saying anything other than that they are reversing their decision.

@Ainu20 @themightyant but it's all publicly made information. For now, this is Sony's plan. If they do have anything planned, they'll probably reveal what they have planned when it's closer to announcing, provided they even have anything planned.

There's no point in giving the vocal minority more platforms (social media posts, etc.) to uselessly shout from.
