So they are saying this game won't have Ray Tracing on PS5 or is what they mean is its only available on Fidelity on PS5?
This is where the Pro could cause a problem down the line. Devs will get lazy with the PS5 version for optimisation and just say if you want something then you should have a PS5 Pro which runs our game nicely. I remember later down the track with games on PS4 and PS4 Pro, they started running terribly on PS4 which made the Pro a viable option. This was towards the later half of that cycle.
Use it when wife or child wants to watch some TV show on the TV that I'm not interested in. But even with headphones on I am not isolating away fully since I remain in the same room. Runs perfect at home, although remotely I have issues. At work there is a 500Mb connection, yet picture runs perfect, however there is constant audio pop everytime. It's almost like the PS5 is not degrading the audio enough for the upload. Upload is 40Mbs at home so should not have an issue but there is. Has anyone else experienced audio popping with wired headphones but only remotely away from home?
So this means there will be no more sexual violence in Australia now this game is unavailable? Thank you now everyone feels safer. How many sexual violence crimes were commited where the criminal blamed this game for having them do it? I hate it when they blame computer games for peoples actions, maybe mental health should be looked at or the lack of ease of access to mental health in this country. There was a news report about the increase of youths stealing cars, and one professor stated that it's due to GTA being publicly available. If a person thinks they can do in real life what they can do in a computer game, then they have had a mental health disorder prior regardless of the media they consume.
Didn't Sony do this before, in that they removed DriveClub off the store and servers, so anyone with digital would never be able to download it again, plus the physical editions were just coasters since the game wouldn't work anyway. A lot of physical has keys that go online and verify with the servers. So even physical you don't really own.
I thought if I buy a game at the massive price of $100 through the store then I own it. And its only tied to that account. So they are saying for example I purchase GTA6 and Sony decides to fully remove it then I have lost the capability to play it? Wouldn't that mean I am owed money back? So that would go for Steam too? What would happen to physical games in that some require a download to work and Sony removes that game off the server? Technically this should mean all digital should be much less in price compared to physical
The game is great I give it that, I had a great time playing it originally. But yay another remake for Sony.
Advantage of these announcements is I every time I see one, there is no real advantage to getting a PS5 Pro, thus saving some money. So the industry is really helping my decision so thank you Square Enix.
Although have to admit its a perfect kind of game for the PS Portal.
Quick note: I do also realize they do this for the younger people that just didn't have opportunities to play on PS1/PS2/PS3 eras.
And once these are done, Naughty Dog will be working on TLOU Part 1 and 2 remastered for PS6, each at the price of a full game.
Sony:- We have an exhaustive list in our gaming library catalogues, most being remastered old games and cheap $5-10 indie games made by someone in their basement or a university assignment.
Unfortunately this is what happens when digital becomes mass.
The gaming industry has become similar to the movie industry. Barely any new concepts, just a lot of remasters of old stuff.
Like that Legacy of Kain shown on State of Play, yeah lets do that instead of making an entirely new game based on that franchise with modern technologies, and something to take advantage of the PS5 Pro coming.
@Flaming_Kaiser
Ouch did not know about our pricing cheaper than Europe. When you’re in your country you can have a bad habit of being in your so called bubble. In Australia it’s due to reserve bank increasing interest rates thus my pay check is now just busy paying higher mortgage, plus necessities have sky rocketed. Our wage growth is not keeping up. I feel though that for a high priced item 5-7 minutes for the presentation was not enough plus YouTube does not make it look fantastic when trying to see the comparisons. I might wait since I bet they will have a bundle with GTA6 next year, which gives me time to save.
In Australia the PS5 Slim is $799.95. The Controllers are $119.95. Everything goes up excluding wages. Only if I decide to get a second job will I be able to get this. Gaming consoles now are pure luxury. PC is just as bad too with electronic pricing.
I noticed the game received an update last night but did not know what it was for. This is exactly why Sony need to have a feature where you can view patch notes.
@Flaming_Kaiser I agree. The voice acting in God of War, Last of Us, Spider-Man 2 have been top notch. But then there are some games where voice acting is just nahh. That goes for TV too. There have even been Amazon exclusives where the acting was subpar.
Being a Star Wars fan I was not stricken by the demo they presented. In fact at one point I actually dozed off. That’s not a good sign. Plus it’s the most expensive game I have seen on the store which is turning me off.
So Sony provide Fallout 4 as a bonus in a collection for thanking you for purchasing a PS5 at the time of release. Now it's like "tough luck". I purchased the Season Pass thinking I will qualify for the upgrade. What a waste of money.
Its good to hear that Prime has created a successful show. Looking forward to watching this. I was a bit concerned about this after watching Primes adaptation of Wheel of Time.
Ubisoft executives most likely said in their board meeting "Its Star Wars, we can charge whatever we want and Star Wars fans will lap it up"
Unfortunately they are correct, despite the fact I feel its overpriced I will start saving for the Ultimate Edition, simply because its Star Wars.
After many years I went in and canceled the subscription which ends in November. I can live without multiplayer for a bit just to shove it the Sony. I hope people do the same just to make them realise the mistake of such an increase. $10 a year more yes, but not such an increase at once. People better not complain about pricing if they remain.
@VRjunky Didn’t know batteries can be replaced. Cool, I will look into that for 1 of them. The other is suffering from occasional drifting so that can be replaced soon I think
@VRjunky Play too much??? 😂 Every time after I play I put them on the charging stand. I used to never let them run flat at all. Maybe that’s the issue in that I never used to run the battery down to cycle it.
@thefourfoldroot1
Yeah I just checked, and in Australia the 1st one is now $60 Aus, and the 2nd is $60. The bundle was $90. I don't have the original through PS Plus . All they have done is lose a sale, there's no way I'm paying $120 now for both. I didn't imagine getting this penalized for not preordering.
Was about to purchase the bundle since it was on my wishlist, but it's not there now. Very dissapointed that I cannot buy Part 1 now. It appears part 1 is no longer available. I only waited because I wanted to wait for reviews, did not realise they would take a total game off the platform if you didn't preorder it prior.
I will just check more reviews overall. This is exactly why I stopped preordering a long time ago. Even then I generally hold off for a bit. For example it's only recently I am considering Hogwarts, now that there are reviews about the latest patches fixing performance etc. Its usually about then I consider buying, I got sick of being the free QA tester for these companies when purchasing something right on release.
Update controllers wirelessly was a much needed feature, couldn't understand that even after linking the controllers to the PS5 you still had to find the cable and plug each one in separately just to update their firmware. Just a small niggle that's now been resolved. Also good to see the new PSV2 controllers also get an update, finally no more right controller straying all over the place with the tracking I hope.
It's not a true Bus Simulator though if you don't have passengers abusing you and yelling profanities at you. At least that's a day in the life for Bus drivers whom cop it in Australia which is sad. Friend was a Bus Driver and he left, just couldn't take the abuse, shouldn't have to put up with it when your just doing your job.
@NEStalgia Regarding the PS Store fail, it's hard for us the consumer, I can only imagine what a developer feels when he/she is not seeing it listed on the PSVR2 section. I imagine there is a lot of "f" bombs since that is an area they rely on to get sales.
My biggest concern is there are really not many games, When I go to the PSVR2 games on the PS5, there are a few but not as many as they announced, yet it is opnly 2x days left till launch. There is no Tetris Effect, Pistol Whip, Synth Riders even listed. Or is that just Sony being slack with updating the store pages?
Saint & sinners Tourist Edition is a free upgrade, but Saints & Sinners Standard Edition was the one through PS+. So this means the PS Plus version won't be getting the free upgrade?
@Sequel I guess the logical thing is I will try it first with glasses, and if it doesn't work well with the glasses then look at Prescription Lenses. Or eye transplants into Cybernetic eyes, like Cyberpunk
@Psnfanboy79
From what I have read, it goes into the USB-C port in the front. Which makes sense since USB-C is also capable of twice the theoretical throughput of USB 3.0 and can provide far more power
I cannot find anyone talking about how it is for someone wearing glasses. The original PSVR I had to sell because my glasses fogged up and it put pressure on the side of my face when wearing glasses
@Marquez
Feel you. Had the same discussion with my wife, however I won sort of and am still allowed to purchase a $1000 entertainment unit such as this. However from the week after, I am to support her in that for the next 20 weeks afterwards she is going every fortnight to a spa treatment, total value at the end being the same cost. So technically this unit has cost me $2000, better be worth it.
Preordered, although my biggest concern is if I'm playing it and swinging arms everywhere and 4 year old walks in and "whack!!" Anyone that has experienced VR before, what is your best protection against young children in the house?
Looks good especially knowing know it's the PC version being ported over. There seems to be a lot of great PSVR2 titles coming, I'm not going to have time to play my normal TV games.
This looks good and a very interesting concept. Now that the PSVR2 controls are closer to the standard in VR now, I can see a lot more better games that were on other VR system coming over. I have a feeling the PSVR2 will be more successful with games than it's original PSVR. Also looking forward to Kayak VR for after a stressful work day.
Might not be much but finally a golf game where the sand actually sprays, plus on the video I saw a divot. 2K23 the sand is glued top the bunker. Looks outstanding, off topic from this game also heard a rumour that VR Golf+ that is currently on Oculus could be coming to the PSVR2. That would be awesome.
