@KaijuKaiser Better than x doesn't meant good. This launch sucks. VR is still many years away from being great.

@GigaGaia GP provides a lot of great games and many millions of people pay for the service monthly. Let's not forget that MS started focusing on games again just a few years ago so understandably there has been a drought, but this year everything is supposed to change. Starfield will probably be a bigger game than any Sony exclusive.

Hope that Sony gets some competition. It's a good thing.

@AhabSpampurse I need good VR games and good vr remakes of old games. I know that the player base is not big enough currently, but it will never grow with games like this one and Horizon climb the mountain.

I like to play genres in order so I first have to beat Dragon Quest

@Fight_Teza_Fight Horizon wouldn't have been received any better even if ER got delayed. The game is milquetoast AF.

@Cikajovazmaj award shows don't really matter. They don't dictate which games you will or should like. Just because there is an award for best story in a game and the people in charge decided that GOWR should win doesn't in any way make any other game less good. ER didn't have a good story no one will dispute that, but people enjoyed playing it more.

@Olmaz People love basic stuff. 'Parental figure cares for child' is as basic as it gets.

The people who want to unite a galaxy to fight the Reapers or uncover conspiracy theories and corruption sounds infinitely more interesting to us, but we are sadly a minority.

@naruball So the formula for success is making a great game? lol that's the hard part. And let's not forget that some great franchises(Deus Ex, Pray etc) that are highly rated by the average commenter were not very profitable.

Maybe the secret ingredient is luck.

@Drawfull Yeah the games are just bad looking. If you are excited about VR in general maybe the headset is worth getting, but if you only care about great games we might have to wait for years.

VR is still not ready..

Life is Strange 1 was great, but everything else by this studio is painfully mediocre.

You can't just release a relatively unknown game 1 year later on a different platform for full price with stutters on launch and expect to get a billion buys. PC users are the most savvy by far. I am sure that over the years with the help of discounts the sales will increase massively.

This does not hurt Sony at all. Thinking otherwise is ignorance.

I suspect that testers are scared to point out anything that is not a glaring flaw. They are replaceable.

Meh, it's the internet. I've seen worse for even more insignificant things.

Unless you want a government to control everything including what you do and say you should accept these people. And block as many of them as possible of course.

@naruball I am able to overlook flaws if the game has a good base. For example I love the original Deus Ex. It plays and looks like a game from the year 2000, but the writing and level design are far superior than any game this gen so far. And you won't fall asleep playing it because of long cutscenes filled with cliches.

@AndyKazama You singlehandedly ruined this game and the entire industry. The developers have already ordered the coke and hookers and they won't fix bugs until after launch.

Another GOTY contender

@neonpizza I will probably stop playing games entirely or get drafted before I start playing sh*t like Horizon Call Of The Mountain so I am willing to wait.

When I hear a name like 'Lightfall' I get bored immediately. You just know that the writing team sucks.

A few more subtitles that are red flags: Resurrection, Resurgence, The Beginning, Origins, 3D, Electric Boogaloo, Genesis

@KaijuKaiser When I was a kid I played a lot of stuff, but nowadays I need quality.

I am not about to waste hours of my life and space in my house to play Horizon or that goofy Star Wars shooter. Those are the types of games that should have died out during the PSVR1 gen, but here we are in 2023 and we are still getting mediocrity that can only impress kids and grandmas.

One day you will lean that everyone is just trying to sell you stuff. Buying into the PSVR2 right now(or pre ordering it) and expecting good games is like buying an Ubisoft game and expecting quality.

@KaijuKaiser Because when you become cynical you have a great control over your free time. When Sony is trying to tell me that their 500$ dollar product can move mountains and is better than PC I can see right trough them because I wasn't born yesterday. As of right now and for the foreseeable future I don't see any reasons to pick up this device.

Maybe 2 years from now the PSVR2 library will have great games or pc modders will do their thing.

@KaijuKaiser If you have enough experience with anything you will be able to notice certain trends and make educated decisions. Even now the 7/10 review of this game by IGN is bombarded with Sony drones insisting that this game is the greatest thing ever and deserved at least a 9.

If you are as cynical as me and you have high standards the PSVR2 is a product that you can safely skip for now. If I can hook it up to a PC then it's a must buy because then you will at least have access to infinite amount of content.

I will just wait for the PSVR3. Until there are enough VR users out there who want actual good games the market will be filled with 7/10 mediocrities.

365 days are more than enough for exclusivity periods. Let the game get ported to PC and added to subscription services.

I didn't mind playing as Ellie in TLOU2, but being forced to play as the kid in GOW would have made me skip the game. Imo, that character can't carry the franchise.
