Re: Game of the Month: What Were the Best PlayStation Games of August 2015?

@Gamer83 Yeah definitely a great experience with friends, especially with non-gamer friends it becomes a great option (something I feel the ps4 lacks otherwise).
Yeah I'd heard that, just couldn't resist after the rave reviews. Yeah as a newcomer, the cutscenes would have been a struggle (I'd heard about a 70 minute one!), they feel about right atm. I've been on Wikipedia and various gaming sites to at least learn the backstory... Well what I could keep up with anyway! It's just good that the gameplay a free approach makes it so addictive, I love that even the side ops don't feel like busy work.

I was going to change my vote to this on the last day, then realised it was too late anyway as Grow Home was way ahead. Mainly as I would have more than likely bought GH in a sale whereas this I would have needed to experience first.

Re: Soapbox: Metal Gear Solid V Has the Best Sandbox Mission Design I've Seen in a Game

I agree, I fell out of love of 'open world' early days in, I always found the actual gameplay lacking... In gta all I used to was play 'run from cops as I enter cheat codes to rank them down'. While that was fun, I never appreciated the missions in these games and got bored early, they were less open the the actual environment you were playing. Finally recently buying a ps4 and now after the rave reviews I felt I should give this a try, while I don't appreciate being badly graded (my fault I guess!) I just ignore that and have a great time working out my own approach to the game!

@Gamer83 Yeah was only my love of cheesy teen slasher that got me to get it. It's great as if you ever watch them you spend so long questioning their awful decisions that now you can actually make them for them. It's a great weekend play through game with other people. I now have MGSV, having only ever played GZ I'm still somehow massively hooked, even if I do just B Rank after having to blow my stealth approach and get the C4 out!

Re: Sony: PlayStation Innovation Is Simply Unparalleled

BrizzoUK

@Gamer83 Agree. Innovation is great, but also we are fans of games as they are and there's nothing wrong with that. The Playstation Brand has been a master as evolving, not reinventing the wheel. I love Nintendo trying new things and hope they always do (even though it does risk their future)... However, I love Playstation for refining their experiences, they don't need to be 'innovative'.

Sold. I really hope this and the likes of Yooka Laylee sell well, we need a return of the 3D platformer collectathon! Sept 11th will be expensive with this and Mario Maker.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Until Dawn Spooks the Second Spot

Loving the game, have the last chapter to do tonight after starting and playing all day yesterday. Great to play through without any guides etc as I feel it'll have awesome replay value. I'll be coming back to this once every few months just to see what results I come up with.

Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn Has the Best PS4 Clouds Since DriveClub

BrizzoUK

@Gamer83 Very safe to say! I do like it when devs get to do something new, I imagine (hope) it is more of a passion project and they usually shine through, even if they are imperfect they generally feel better and fresher than by-the-numbers games devs are made to repeat year on year for guaranteed sales.

Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn Has the Best PS4 Clouds Since DriveClub

BrizzoUK

@Gamer83 Yeah I burned out on fps early (also never got good enough online contributed to that!). But my PS3 disk tray broke and my Xbox 360 red ring of deathed in the last gen early on, that left me with a Wii (and eventually U) until I finally reinvested in a PS4 this year. Therefore my recent fps schooling had been patchy! I do love it when a Dev properly adapts to the hardware (as in Your mention of Vita version), I love handheld gaming and now I am back all in on gaming I would have considered one, just a shame it's been abandoned by Sony on a first party basis now (as a U owner with the reverse situation it certainly isn't nice having massive big game droughts!).

Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn Has the Best PS4 Clouds Since DriveClub

BrizzoUK

@Gamer83 Completely agree. Can't believe I didn't realise this was running. Think I just assumed as it was its first showing (I didn't closely follow e3 evidently!) all I'd seen wasn't in game. That makes me more excited and hoping for an earlier release. Yeah just had my first run through of TLOUR and I agree it definitely all can be done right (I didn't game much for years so am behind on some modern classics.. I'm probably one of the few people who likes all these remasters!).

Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn Has the Best PS4 Clouds Since DriveClub

BrizzoUK

@Gamer83 Apologies, like I said, genuinely excited by this, in all of E3 I didn't realise this was running! Will check out footage. I own a PS4 and am very happy with it so meant nothing by it. Just used to things being shown first and then not being quite the same after (not that I mind as I really just focus on gameplay!).

Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn Has the Best PS4 Clouds Since DriveClub

BrizzoUK

@Cyber-BLP-- Agree. Yeah and they wouldn't want the embarrassment of downgrading the clouds when they get past the early tech demos! I definitely miss when major game releases focused on gameplay first and graphics second. More what you can do, not what the game does for you. I do hope this delivers though. Can't wait to get in a Skell mind!

Re: Review: Until Dawn (PS4)

I am actually very excited about this, the whole premise intrigues me and as a fan of the late 90's early 00's teen horror films I'm all over this. I'm forcing the girlfriend to watch as I play, I feel it'll make it a better game!
