Iconic PS1 Fighter Rival Schools Returns in New Street Fighter 6 Fighting Pass

Rival Schools is back – well, sort of.

A new Fighting Pass launching in April for Street Fighter 6 will allow you to unlock various avatar outfits inspired by the legendary 1997 brawler.

Among the unlockable items includes a school uniform with a giant Josuke-style pompadour, as well as Akira Kazama’s motorcycle helmet.

You can also get some photo frames and profile titles inspired by sequel Project Justice.

The only real disappointment here is that Capcom’s bundling in retro game Warriors of Fate, as opposed to the original Rival Schools.

Project Justice is going to get a re-release as part of the highly anticipated Capcom Fighting Collection 2, but we’re still waiting for a modern way to play the original game, outside of emulation.

Still, this is all baby steps we suppose – it’s good to see Rival Schools at least being acknowledged at last. Hopefully this all brings us one step closer to the series making its long awaited comeback.
