Rayman Origins was phenomenal and it's ridiculous that it isn't playable on PS4/5. Meanwhile, Rayman Legends is a near perfect title that deserves a quick-and-dirty PS5 update to up the framerate. It's also dumb that Ubisoft killed server support for Legends.
It would be nice if we could get Alpha Max's widescreen look, too. And, as others mentioned, I would really love the extra single-player modes that came with these games on consoles.
This looks amazing and I can't wait to play it, but big WTF on it not being Capcom. Considering that they just recently launched the MvC Collection, I had guessed that Disney and Capcom were back in talks, but I guess not?
Huh. As others have mentioned, PS4 specs might not be far from Switch 2, so it might not cost more to do both when the latter is a no brainer.
But I'm also wondering if this might be adding to the rumors of a proper new handheld from Sony. The PS4 has survived so long and it wouldn't be hard to fit the base system (or even the Pro) into a portable system.
@Gamer_X right!? A PS5 update would be awesome, and apparently the Series S / X version looked and ran great. 120 fps on X!
The game deserved more love than it got - I remember that my biggest gripe when playing on PS4 was the ridiculous load times, and a PS5 update would fix that.
Considering that most folks are using this thing at home - and it is being sold to the market - it's goofy AF that the internet even factors into the connection when being used that way. The same goes for when I remote to my PS5 from my PS4 just a couple of rooms away.
It's entirely possible to stream games via LAN only, no internet needed. There are third party apps that do this for Playstation, so the hardware can already do it. Other systems like Steam has been doing this for years. In all cases, the quality difference is no comparison to when over the internet - sending a signal that far and then drawing it back down is utterly pointless.
Maybe the new update to the Portal shifted things to LAN or something similar? If so, that would be a great step.
DBZ: Kakarot was also on that games list, and that has yet to appear on Plus. If you haven't played it and you're a DBZ fan (or even used to be), it's a pretty decent time.
The fact that they aren't linked to Movies Anywhere is going to keep me from buying on the platform.
The free movies are nice enough. However, I loaded up a Godzilla movie and as nice as it was to get the original Japanese version, the subs were CC, so included sound effects and such. Definitely a bummer.
There are some titles that I like to pick back up occasionally or that show up regularly on PS Stars that have been hogging up way too much disk space, so I'm happy to have this. If Destiny 2 is on the list when the service comes to the U.S., I'll be glad to have those 100 or so GBs back.
It's so close to hitting the mark, yet so goofy that it doesn't. The lack of Bluetooth for headphones is a majorly befuddling decision. And being able to use an external controller for tabletop mode would be nice, but not essential.
But then there are two non-hardware limitations that can probably be fixed through updates, but they might just not do it? The official remote play app has to go fully through WiFi rather than just bouncing through the home router entirely (which is entirely possible) - that would be way smoother and faster. Then, no PS Plus Premium remote play? There's no reason this should launch without being able to connect to that directly.
They're killing at least half of their market for this thing by not focusing on features that would involve a few bucks more in hardware costs and some basic infrastructure updates to their systems.
We had rumors of a the PSP version of Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny coming soon, since they've been newly rated in Taiwan. I am hoping that's still true, and that a lot of other retro titles drop soon.
I paid for Premium because I was expecting a wealth of PS One, PS2, and PSP titles. So far the service has been underwhelming, and that seems utterly ridiculous since the licensing and conversion cost on these has to be pretty damn low.
I actually like remote play on a portable. My wife and I used to live in a smaller places during grad school and after, so being able to grind an RPG while she took the TV was nice.
However, this thing doesn't do PS Plus Premium streaming, but only works with a PS5? And no bluetooth audio? Hard pass. With Plus streaming it would be great when I'm stuck at my MIL's house a couple of weeks each year or other travel, and it doesn't even need stronger hardware for that to work.
Being able to play SC: Broken Destiny with a fightstick is a pretty rad idea - I'm looking forward to it.
I'm meh on Tekken 6, since I own the far-superior PS3 version and my console is still hooked up. But a unique SoulCalibur, with Kratos, and now I can play it with a decent controller? I'm in!

Re: Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice PS5 Upgrades Are Finally Getting Parole from Xbox Jail
I'm very excited about this. I loved the first game, and I will all too gladly play again on a better system.
I've heard mixed things about the sequel, but I'll grab it when there's a sale.
