Re: TV Show Review: The Last Of Us (HBO) Season 2 Episode 6 - Robbing the Story of Its Genius

Anthony_Daniels

This whole season has been off imo. I love the second game and they've just messed with the sequences too much.
Starting with Abby laying out her intention in the first scene robbed the shock of her shooting Joel and then the hate toward her character till you get her backstory which I guess would be season 3 in the show.
To Tommy not being their which is gonna rob the story of the moment later on in the farm.
Not starting the season with Joel playing future days, again robbing the end of the story of it's impact with Ellie's revenge quest ending her ability to play the guitar and that song.
It's full with instances like this, it's watchable but meh

Re: Switch 2 Isn't Targeting People Who Want 'High-Performance Hardware', Like PS5 Pro

@Member_the_game

And let's not pretend that the switch 2 is not massively overpriced with its LCD screen. The vita has OLED 15 years ago

Nor are their ports of ancient games worth the £75 they're charging.

They're even charging for a tech demo, it's like Nintendo fans are on looney pills!
If this was Sony or Microsoft would be the biggest witch hunt of our time , but Nintendo can sell out of date chicken soup for £50 and it's lauded as greatness

@Johnion

The majority are the millions of people who will just buy and enjoy the game and not care about this childish culture war internet garbage
the small minority are the thousands of looney tunes who log on to YouTube handing out their little dislikes on a trailer and writing dull hate filled comments about drukman because he killed off their white saviour in part 2
Yawn.

Re: Sony Confirms Interest in Buying FromSoftware Parent Company Kadokawa

Anthony_Daniels

@__jamiie

So no Sony don't have a monopoly on anime at all
What you actually mean is Sony have a monopoly on Western distribution of anime. Very big difference between distribution and ownership.
Which they've had ever since purchasing CR
Sony own very few anime ip and even less studios
After this take over it will jump to around 30 percent of anime and manga ownership

Hardly a monopoly is it? Kadokawa hardly the only big anime and book publisher in Japan.
Toei, Kodansha, Shogakukan - those are giants that own the the likes of my hero academia, attack on Titan, demon slayer
Let's also not forget Amazon and Netflix that are investing huge in the industry for their services

Neon Genesis, and Gundam probably the biggest manga ip Sony get out of this, or maybe delicious in dungeon which decent . The rest u probably never heard of

People keep coming out with that monopoly nonsense probably because some YouTuber said it without knowing very little about that industry.

In western layman's terms it's more like Sony pictures buying universal studios. No one would be screaming monopoly because they Own fast and furious, Jurassic Park and a bunch of lesser ip.

The more you know!

Re: Kadokawa Confirms Sony Acquisition Interest

Anthony_Daniels

I am confused by the lack of IP comment. Still doesn't make sense, they are sitting on a gold mine

I assume it's on reference to Sony pictures but even thats not true, they have 100 years of film and tv content to work with .
Playstation itself they could nurture resistance, destiny, killzone, wipeout, Syphon filter, legend of dragoon, warhawk, Bloodborne, demons souls, lemmings, wild arms, heavenly sword, the order, infamous , returnal etc

It's a treasure chest

Re: Feature: Why Would Sony Want to Buy Kadokawa?

Anthony_Daniels

From soft they'd keep multiplatform 100 percent. And they can feel more comfortable making films or TV from Bloodborne or elden ring.

But owning kadakawa must be of greater interest to Sony due to all the anime that would get folded into Sony. They'd pretty much own the animé market globally
