Night in the Woods PS4

$9.99/£7.99 (-50%)

Night in the Woods is a truly magnificent adventure game. An eclectic array of different gameplay mechanics play off of a small American town vibe incredibly well. While the gameplay is fun and varied, the main attraction is the absolutely incredible writing. A college-aged life crisis story paired with some much darker and more sinister elements is used as the framework for developing some of the best-realised relationships we've seen in gaming.

Ninja Gaiden 4 PS5

$34.99/£29.99 (-50%)

Ninja Gaiden 4 is a valiant attempt to bring forward the blistering-paced, high intensity action the series is known for into the modern era, and it mostly gets it right. Ryu Hayabusa is playable and feels incredibly powerful, but it's newcomer Yakumo that takes the starring role with his unique Bloodbind powers and transforming weaponry. It's a challenging, action-stuffed game that rewards mastery of its systems, and if that's your thing there's plenty to like here.

Nioh 3 PS5

$39.89/£37.04 (-43%)

Nioh 3 takes all the best bits from Team Ninja’s previous efforts to form its greatest action experience in a very long time. Its new open zone maps provide more ways than ever to engage with its sublime, intense combat system — even if the activities themselves are entirely unoriginal. This is a familiar feeling title for a fanbase that knows what it wants, for few franchises do hardcore action better. Nioh 3 is its latest triumph.

No Man's Sky PS5

$23.99/£15.99 (-60%)

The initially rough reception of No Man's Sky can safely be put to bed. Hello Games has stayed fully committed to its procedurally generated space exploration adventure, fleshing it out with a staggering number of huge updates. Not only does the game look and run much better these days, it's bursting with things to see and do, and that's without considering the 18 quintillion planets waiting to be discovered. The PS5 release is the best version you can play on console, too, with minimised load times, great DualSense integration, and now even optional PSVR2 support.

Octopath Traveler II PS5

$23.99/£19.99 (-60%)

Octopath Traveler II is a borderline must play for fans of more traditional Japanese RPGs. It's built like a classic but with modern design elements, resulting in a refined role-playing experience. An engaging turn-based combat system and a frankly gorgeous visual style make this a seriously impressive sequel.

Pragmata PS5

$47.99/£39.99 (-20%)

A wonderful third-person shooter from Capcom, Pragmata is an intelligent and surprisingly touching action game with a unique gameplay hook. You can't just blast away at the enemy robots running rampant aboard the lunar space station — you must use the hacking abilities of your companion, Diana, to expose their weak spots. Moving between the simple hacking mechanic and the punchy shooting is really satisfying and evolves just enough over the course of the game to stay interesting.

Resident Evil 4 PS5

$9.99/£8.74 (-75%)

One of the most influential, and most highly rated, games in living memory is Resident Evil 4, and surprise surprise, the remake is just as essential. Capcom has brought Leon's disturbing European excursion into the modern era with updated controls, vastly improved graphics, and knife parries. The remake nails the tone of the beloved original while building on it with a creepier atmosphere and even new areas to explore and side missions to keep you busy. It's somehow improved on one of the best games ever, and even features full PSVR2 support.

Resident Evil Requiem PS5

$48.99/£40.29 (-30%/-38%)

On paper, Resident Evil Requiem is essentially a two-in-one package that delivers both excellent survival horror and action gameplay. It is that in practise, too, but the playtime imbalance between the two is enough that you’ll get too much of one and not enough of the other. At the end of it all, it’s another fantastic entry — you just might not get everything you’re looking for out of it.

Sea of Thieves PS5

$13.99/£13.99 (-65%)

Sea of Thieves is a brilliant shared world online experience that delivers on the fantasy of being a swashbuckling pirate. You and your crew of buddies man your very own ship, and must scour the seas and numerous islands for buried treasure before cashing it in for upgrades. However, it's never quite that simple, as other online crews may hunt you down, and reanimated skeletons and ghosts will aim to put an end to your quest for loot. Immensely entertaining with a group of friends, this is a fresh and engaging online realm that's always evolving.

Silent Hill 2 PS5

$27.99/£23.99 (-60%)

Comfortably one of the greatest remakes around — especially when you narrow it down to the survival horror genre — Silent Hill 2 is a triumph of a resurrection from Bloober Team and Konami. The vast majority of the original PS2 masterpiece is faithfully brought back with modern visuals and gameplay design, and then expanded upon in all the right ways with bigger areas to explore and then new endings. Silent Hill 2 remains just as incredible as it did back in 2001 thanks to the delicate and appreciated work of Bloober Team.

Spiritfarer PS4

$4.49/£2.99 (-85%)

Spiritfarer is a real melting pot of disparate game types, and it works. Although some elements are very simple, everything hangs together rather well, and you've always got something to do or somewhere to be. That it also tackles tricky subjects with care is commendable; a game about guiding spirits to the other side could so easily be depressing, but Spiritfarer feels positive and comforting.
