Here is a movie called What Still Remains – it has absolutely nothing to do with The Last of Us, despite similarities that we don’t need to point out. The post-apocalyptic thriller, available to stream on Netflix, stars Lulu Antariksa and Colin O'Donoghue – and it sees a young girl partner with an older gent after a pandemic prompts society as we know it to collapse. Heard this one before?
Okay, so Naughty Dog’s horror game wasn’t all that original to begin with, but the film’s title and poster are as blatant as they come, aren’t they? To be fair, the actual plot of the movie seems to go in a slightly different direction to the PlayStation exclusive game, so this isn’t a complete rip-off – let’s just say it’s an homage, shall we?

of course it doesn't if it did it would be called "The Last of Us"
"So... what still remains?"
"Only the last of us."
Willing to put money on that being a line of dialogue from the film, but I'm not prepared to watch it to find out.
Man, between TLOU, The Road, The Girl With All the Gifts, and now this, all of these post-apocalyptic coming-of-age dramas are starting to blend together.
If on their travels they come across an old grumpy gay fella called William, a creepy villain voiced by Nolan North and a few giraffes then you'll know they may have taken inspiration from The Last Of Us.
Can’t find it on Netflix. Is it any good?
Nothing new. If Sinbad posters/covers could pull off such homage with Anastasia ones way back when...
Funny thing is that its probably more similar than if an actual tlou movie were to be made, you know how those video fame movie adaptations follow there source material...... Ahem monster hunter
Isn't TLOU itself heavily inspired by the film Children of Men?
A movie inspired by game, inspired my movie, this is like ratchet and clank ps4 lol.
@Ralizah hey you know the film industry one thing is popular or does well and so everyone else has to copy it
Here’s my attempt of what it should look like: https://youtu.be/UqoNVJDULgE
@roe One of the inspirations for sure. A great movie btw.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I guess, but... wow.
Video games dont make good movies.
I love streer fighter and mortal Kombat
I do not love the movies lol
@Neolit Let it be known that Naughty Dog got so good at making movie styled games that someone else adapted their game into a movie before they even finished it's sequel, or that movie on their prior IP.
At this rate their next IP will be a movie BEFORE it's announced!
@Ralizah i really liked the road. Very good movie imo.
Look at the bright sight. If this is a success they might make a film called "not on the map" about a treasure hunter who climbs a lot and occasionally shoots bad.
To be fair...
@lacerz
An art work used in one painting inside the game vs a full movie. Yea right that's fair
@Neolit Maybe so but this will be a easy copyright infringement. You cant blatantly copy someones stuff.
Well I'm watching it.
@Neolit You can be inspired but not copy the stuff directly. Lets see what happens if you take the logo of nike and make it a little smaller and sell it. 😉
@JJ2
Actually, as someone very familiar with the law, the poster does not infringe on any intellectual property. The poster may have been similar, but it was not substantially similar (a legal standard...required to sue). In addition, the movie was not remotely related to TLoU, which further shields it from suit. Read the article.
The image in Uncharted 4 was a direct rip from Assassin's Creed. That is infringement. Ubisoft was cool and let it slide.
There is no debate as to the law in these instances.
@lacerz
Where did I mention the law?
It's one random painting inside a game.
This is poster advertising a full movie and representing what the movie is about I assume.
There's a big difference and if you can't see it whatever.
Amazing movie to watch. I have watched this movie many times. Now one can watch all latest movies and shows for free using MediaBox HD app. Get it from https://mediaboxhdapp.com/
