What are the best PS4 exclusives? That's exactly what we aim to determine in this article. Whether you're the proud owner of a new PS4 or a bonafide veteran, you'll want to play the absolute best exclusive games. Well, the PlayStation 4 has plenty of those, covering a wide range of tastes.
For this list, we've included games that are only on PS4. Console exclusives don't count, and neither do games that are cross-gen. However, remasters and other, more in-depth re-releases may make the cut. With that in mind, let's dive into what we think are the 20 best PS4 exclusive games.
20. Knack 2 (PS4)

Knack may not have won over the critics, but it must have done something right if its cult following status is anything to go by. Knack 2 is a much improved sequel that builds on the original's brawler/platformer core. You play as the eponymous Knack, who punches, kicks, and increases in size to defeat enemies, all while solving a variety of platforming challenges. It's old-school stuff that'll appeal to a family audience -- especially because of its fun co-op mode.

19. Gravity Rush 2 (PS4)

The Gravity Queen rushes onto PS4 in this sequel to the enjoyable PS Vita title. Kat is in for another crazy adventure through the skies as she falls with style across a big open world. If you played the first game, you know what to expect here: satisfying traversal, basic but decent combat, and a lighthearted story. With an array of new gravity powers and the series' gorgeous aesthetic to enjoy, this is one of PS4's most unusual exclusives, and worth checking out.
18. inFAMOUS: Second Son (PS4)

inFAMOUS: Second Son is set in a world where superhuman conduits walk the streets and are being detained by a shady government agency, the DUP. Sucker Punch's third entry in the series moves away from the electrically charged Cole McGrath in favour of Delsin Rowe, a younger, more rebellious protagonist with the ability to absorb powers from other conduits. The result is a more varied, and more fun, superhero sandbox with silky smooth gameplay.
17. Detroit: Become Human (PS4)

Detroit: Become Human is the latest adventure from Quantic Dream. It takes the formula from Heavy Rain and applies it to a near-future Detroit, where people co-exist with androids. The branching story has a crazy number of outcomes as you juggle control between androids Connor, Kara, and Markus. As with all of David Cage's creations, it can be an acquired taste, but this is an incredibly polished narrative adventure that's like nothing else on PS4.
16. WipEout Omega Collection (PS4)

WipEout is as synonymous with PlayStation as God of War and Uncharted -- arguably more so. Omega Collection is a sleek, effortlessly beautiful remaster of WipEout HD, Fury, and 2048 that brings the series speeding onto PS4 in typical style. There's a huge amount of content on offer here, with three full racing campaigns, multiplayer, and some of the best PlayStation VR support yet seen. If you're an adrenaline junkie, this exclusive racer is sure to get your blood pumping.

Glad to see the Last Guardian in the Top 10! What an amazing game!
Knack 2 is on it! Whoooo!!!
Lots of great games that I haven't got round to playing on this list.
God of number 1.of course kratos is number one.PlayStation best franchises is legendary.the man the icon .the legend kratos the great.word up son
It is a crime that Detroit Become Human isn't in the top 10.
Great list, but Gravity Rush 2 should be in a better position, imho. Anyway, all the games mentioned are great.
We could also mention Tearaway Unfolded, a hidden gem.
It’s hard to disagree with games in a top 20 list, they’ll never quite be in an order how you’d have them. But I truly can’t see how nex machina is not in there. It’s superior to resogun (an amazing game). Scored very highly in reviews but beaten by knack. Go figure.
With the exception of gts, I have all of this games. And yay for gravity rush 2
20 reasons why Playstation is top this gen.
Sorry to sound fanboyish but Xbox really doesn't have exclusive titles that match these for quality.
I guess only Forza would really stand up compared to Driveclub or Gran Turismo.
A shame, I really don't know what MS were thinking this gen.
Oh, and where is Nioh!?!?!?!
@gingerfrog Nex Machina is also on PC, therefore it is only a PS4 console exclusive. The point of the article was games that can only be played on the console and no where else.
Still don't understand the hype of Bloodbourne, more like Bloodbore!
Can't avoid the Knack
@eltomo Yup. Totally agree. Nioh is just so much better. I only say that because I can actually finish Nioh and Bloodborne makes me angry beyond words. I actually hate Rom the Vacuous Spider more than I hate eating mushrooms and that's a lot.
Persona 5 isn't a PS4 exclusive.
Well, anyway, not a terrible list of games, but very little exciting for me here. There are still a few of these I want to play, like TLG, SotC, R&C, and H:ZD.
@eltomo Yep. Run around bland environment killing enemies, kill boss, unlock new area, repeat countless times. Not to mention how easy it was for me to get lost in these labyrinthine environments with barely anything to orient me. Bloodborne and other Souls games feel almost unfinished.
As much as I loved Bloodborne and got the Platinum, I think it should be behind Horizon. It's a game that's all gameplay and challenge but nothing else really, I mean they could at least make the lips of the NPCs move, zoom in and faces are like PS2. Horizon on the other hand evidently has more effort put in. We shouldn't make FromSoftware rest on their laurels and keep throwing RPGs at us with statue NPCs that speak 2 lines of text hiding in rooms to a mute protagonist.
And Persona 5.........great but too much repetitive text.
Plus I think I don't like silent protagonists.
I've been playing a lot of Bloodborne this week and I finally get why its truly a great game. I really struggled to get into it at all the limited time I'd spent with it before.
The Eurogamer team (Johnny and Aoife) have been are doing a weekly playthrough of it on their YouTube channel and it's great fun. Anyway so after enjoying watching them play bits of it, I finally decided to get stuck in myself and now I feel like an addict.
Great list but questionable order
Good list. I just started playing The Last Guardian. It’s gonna sit for longer though, because I realized I’ve been watching something f that’s been pulling at my heartstrings like crazy, and it will be too much heartstring pulling if I play that at the same time.
Also, Persona 5 isn’t at the top of the list. Something is wrong here. I would also put Samurai Warriors 4 on here too. That’s an excellent exclusive often overlooked.
@Ralizah It’s close enough, it was on the PS3, but no one cares about that.
@Ralizah Neither is Journey.
Though I bet you the sole reason that game is on the list is because of Sammy
Bloodborne is the superior choice (or P5)
I just bought Resogun recently. It is highly regarded and was on sale for around $3, so it was a very "safe" purchase. I haven't played more than a couple of hours of It, mostly because it hasn't pulled me in as much as I expected. It's a solid experience for me, not exceptional.
@Jaz007 No, it's not "close enough." It had a full retail release for both PS3 and PS4.
@Octane Probably. He really seems to love that boring game.
I'd say Bloodborne is the best PS4 exclusive myself.
And then R&C and Driveclub.
@Daggadat "All gameplay and challenge.. but the lips don't move "
"Nioh is better than Bloodborne"
I enjoyed what I played of Nioh (just the demos) more than the 20-ish hours I spent with Bloodborne. Nioh seems like a really solid title. Feels like a cross between the more solid aspects of both 3D Ninja Gaiden and Souls games.
@Turismo4GT
Wasn’t aware of that good knowledge. I wrongly thought the studio only produced games for PlayStation
@Futureshark To a degree, I do agree with you. Forza Motorsport for sure stands up against GTSport/Driveclub and MS has released 3 of those for XB1 (5, 6 and 7). There isn't really anything from Sony to match Forza Horizon and I can't think of anything that matches up to Halo Wars 2. Maybe you don't enjoy Arcade open world racers or RTS games so these didn't register. MS has had the 'best' MP FPS exclusives too with Titanfall and Halo as well as games like Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, Sea of Thieves, Cuphead, Ori and the Blind Forest and State of Decay 2 which really don't have any comparative games on PS - Infamous is probably the closest to Sunset Overdrive. Gears of course has similarities with other 3rd person story based cover shooters and I do think the game-play was great even if the Story was a bit lacking.
Anyway the point is that if you like narrative most of all in games, Sony certainly has that mastered. Sony's studio's are delivering very high quality visuals too - helped by Sony's decision to put a heavy focus on the GPU and RAM in the PS4.
If I was to list my top 20 'exclusives' and inc XB1 in that too, there is no doubt that Sony's would occupy the top 3 and that could easily be 8 or 9 in the top 10 when games like Spider-Man, Last of Us 2, Days Gone and Ghost of Tsushima release but a lot of the games here would be knocked out of my top 20 because of XB1 games. Granted a lot are not Game of the Year contenders like Uncharted 4 or Horizon: Zero Dawn but a lot are better than games like Until Dawn and I wouldn't count remasters or remakes either (like Last of Us, Shadow of the Colossus) as these are older gen games. If you can, then why not the Nathan Drake collection as that is a lot better than most games in this top 20 imo.
Of course its personal opinion and the games I like will be different to others so my list would be different to others. Sony do have a big advantage because they have more studio's too.
Personally I don’t think the PS4 has had particularly good exclusives this gen compared to previous consoles. A lot of the different or kids stuff has been rather ‘meh’, and in recent years there’s been a reliance on sandbox games. Plus quite a few of these exclusives can be played on a PS3 if not so shiny. Separating the exclusives from the massive third party support really does show up a weakness.
Saying that, still leaps a bounds better than XB1. But nowhere as good as the Switch when it comes to diversity in game variety.
@Ralizah For the intent and purpose of anyone looking at the list, they’re looking for PS exclusives on the PS4. Anyone looking for the best PS exclusives wouldn’t want P5 to be excluded because it was technically on the PS3 as a miracle release. If it was worded as best Playstation exclusives on PS4, then it’d be correct. It’s a small thing that defeats the purpose of the list.
Great list! I own Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last of Us Remastered, Ratchet & Clank, Infamous: Second Son, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. I also have Journey and Bloodborne through PlayStation Plus.
@ShogunRok why isn't any YAKUZA on the list?
Where is Nioh ??? DriveClub better than GT Sport ??? And no Yakuza ???
WHO DID DIS ?
@Ralizah They clearly state that the list includes games that are on other ps platforms. Don’t get why you’re focusing on p5 when there are a few other games on the list that are on other ps consoles.
Great list, great games, great generation. And the best could well be still to come what with Spider-Man, TLoU 2, Days Gone, Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding all on the horizon.
No Yakuza 6? Here's hoping it comes to PC then.
Having Knack 2 in your top 20 is a bit embarrassing and not a good look for the PS4. You really couldn't have had something else in its place? Like Gravity Rush Remastered or Rigs or Fighting EX Layer or The Persistence or Yakuza 6 or, well, just about any other exclusive that isn't the first Knack!
@Oscarjpc Yakuza 0 is also on PC now. Yakuza 6 is also coming to PC in the near future. Otherwise they'd both be on this list, without a doubt.
Also Nioh is on PC, people. Come on.
I agree with most of these titles, though it's a shame we're leaving out games also on PC.
@MrGawain
You sound like your living in a Nintendo bubble.
Seriously? Journey is not that good folks
My Top-10 of exclusives would look something like this:
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Everybody's Golf, Gran Turismo Sport, Gravity Rush 2, The Last Guardian, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Bound, Detroit: Become Human, Horizon Zero Dawn.
How on earth do God of War and Uncharted beat Bloodborne? God of War is alright at best but Uncharted 4 is absolutely God awful.
Everybody's Golf has to be in the Top 20, probably Top 10.
Updated
Sooner or later we all wake up on Yahar'gul. Play smart.
Ratchet and Clank is my new favorite exclusive (used to be P.T.). Wonderful game!
Oh boy.
I'm curious about what position Days Gone will be. Even if it doesn't look like a goty material, it's probably going to be really fun.
@Carter0108 Hahaha, I know that we should respect different opinions, but that's ridiculous. God of War just alright? Uncharted 4 awful? Sure Jan...
All of them.
The Witcher 3 for me because i played it exclusively on my PS4.
Shows how little there actually is in terms of exclusive games on PS4 compared to the narrative surrounding the current consoles.
To make a top 20 you've had to throw in remasters of games available on PS3, two driving games which aren't a patch on the competition and a number of completely average games.
I have no idea why anyone likes the Last Guardian, it is a turd of a game and Journey is completely overrated.
My list would be: -
1. Bloodborne
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
3. God of War
4. Uncharted Lost Legacy
5. Ratchet and Clank
And then I'm done. Nothing else really deserves a place on the list.
You can always count on the comments section on this kinds of lists for some truly awful opinions. Hoo boy.
There are those that get Bloodborne, and those that don't. I've been replaying with a friend that recently bought a PS4 and now we've been playing a few times a week. Trying a whole new build and it's a different game.
Not sure how Journey is ahead of TLoU even when both were released on PS3.
@Medic_alert I like your list. Spot on for me.

Thanks for understanding
@PabloDiablo I've actually beaten Dark Souls,Nioh,Ninja Gaiden Sigma and other older stuff like Castlevania and Ghosts n Goblins back on the NES that would make modern gamers cry. My skills are pretty good. Rom was just a brick wall for me for a few reasons, none of which I am inclined to share.Back when I was playing Bloodborne it still took over a minute to spin back up whenever you died because they hadn't patched it yet so that just added to the frustration. Playing a game that negatively effects my mental wellbeing is the height of foolishness so I simply ain't gonna do it. And just for your own personal information, I love FromSoftware games just as much as anyone else does. Don't throw around accusations when you don't understand a person's individual circumstances, chum. It's not cool.
@PabloDiablo Well let me show you the way out then.
