Detroit Become Human PS4 PlayStation 4 1

Detroit: Become Human has sold more copies in two weeks than Heavy Rain did in its entire lifespan in Japan, making it Quantic Dream’s most successful game of all time in the territory. While the retail sales don’t make for particularly impressive reading in our Media Create report, 56k units is remarkable for an extremely Western focused narrative adventure.

There are probably two factors at play here: the title’s near-future world will likely appeal to Japanese tastes, while credit must also be laid at the door of PlayStation Japan, who invested a significant sum of money into marketing and promoting the title to a local audience. Honestly, we think it’s pretty cool that Japanese gamers have embraced the game – and even more exciting is that it’s faring well around the rest of the globe, too.
