Golden Week is a national holiday in Japan, so it seems only fair to acknowledge it with a bunch of discounts on the North American PlayStation Store. The platform holder's knocking up to 80 per cent off a bunch of popular Eastern titles through 09:00 PT on 9th May β and that extends to some anime in the movies section if you happen to be a weeaboo.
Highlights on the PlayStation 4 for PlayStation Plus members include Dead or Alive 5: Last Round for $15.99, Dragon Ball XenoVerse for $11.99, and Gravity Rush 2 for $35.99. Arguably the best stuff is on the Vita, though: Dragon's Crown can be yours for $14.99, Persona 4 Golden for just $8.99, and Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma for $19.99.
You can find a full list of savings over on the PlayStation Blog, but do make sure that you check back and tell us what you're picking up.

What about EU store? No love there? π’
Okay...this might be my chance to get Gravity Rush Remastered. I keep feeling it would be a good ps+ game, but this may be the cheapest I get it for a long time.
@Xaritah We got our own sale last week, I think. Should be a new batch of discounts next week.
@get2sammyb Glad to see you finally decided to cover this, I sent you and Shogun the link on Twitter 16 hours ago. Weeaboo
Still not sure if I'm picking anything up, didn't seem like any rush to decide, but maybe something. Bad time to drop same time as PS+ and XBOX Live Gold. (MS really needs a better name for their subscription service. At least the upcoming Game Pass makes sense. I think I subscribed to a game pass about 8 years ago on PC.)
I'm hoping that Persona 3 portable goes on sale again for the EU store.
@rjejr oh shoot! Totally forgot my membership is renewing this month. Maybe I'll have to pass now.
As usual, the most enticing deals to me are on PS3. Will prolly pick up CvSNK2 and Tron Bonne. Classic Capcom, how I miss thee.
If I didn't just get Digimon World Next in the buy 2 get 1 free sale at Gamestop last month I would have been all over that for the price.
Not too bad, but I was hoping for a little more. I honestly wish that Plus would have another PS2 classics sale like they did last month...would be nice to pick up some more that I missed the last time (Primal, Dark Cloud, Dark Cloud 2) and I'd also like to see the PS2 list start making a comeback...it's pretty shallow right now, and they seem to be skipping it like Nintendo is skipping their virtual console games on the 3DS, and I don't really get why.
Anyways, will probably pick up Gravity Rush Remastered and I saw Chronicles Of Teddy at a good price...other than that, there's too much in my backlog, and there's more that keep on coming...Crash Trilogy and Everybody's Golf coming next up. Too Much, but I love the system just the same!!!
Finally took the bait with Persona 4. I am not a big fan of that style of rpg, but I couldn't resist at that price and with its reputation. I want to at least give it a shot and I hope it pulls me into the gameplay loop like it has for others here.
I grabbed Tales of Berseria for $38.99! π
The fact that God eater 2 is discounted for PS4 and not Vita angers me deeply.
Well that's a lot of games, even for Vita and PSP, and I've even heard of most of them.
But I just picked up Sunset Overdrive for $8.98 at Target, and I have Yooka-Layla coming today on PS4, so I'm good for now. And I need to go download Abzu.
@get2sammyb but i wanted some vita sales π thanks i'll wait for that next sale then π
I will probably purchase Arcana Hearts 3: Love Max!, Stein's Gate, and Megaman 8 for the PS3, which will set me back exactly a tenner after taxes!
@rjejr
Please let me know how you like SO. That is one that always got me curious. I may get Yooka after they patch it, or when they release it on Switch.
@sinalefa You know it's funny, I always think of you when I get new Xbox games even though you never got one - you aren't missing much.
Not sure when I'll play SO, but I started and finished ABZU in 3 hours today so that's out of the way.Yooka-Laylee did NOT come in the mail, and I'll be canceling on Friday so I won't get too far in that. I don't know how Gamefly stays in business, it takes them 4 days to get my game, a day or 2 to mail me 1, and 4 days for the new 1 to get here. That's 10 days I'm w/o a game out of my 30. What am I paying for? I need to finish SW:TFU2 before I cancel Gold on the 18th. Then maybe SO, I'll keep you posted.
I'm mainly looking at the indy titles that are heavily discounted:
Crypt of the Necromancer (on the fence)
Galak-Z (for sure)
Furi (for sure)
Chronicles of Teddy (on the fence - is this game buggy on the PS4?)
@Hey-Cha-La No I've heard the PS4 version doesn't have any major bugs, the Wii U version on the other hand...
Which of the PS4 RPGs on here have English dubs? I already own FFXV, and I know the Tales Games have English dubs too. Not sure about the others.
I get why some people don't like English dubs, but for me it breaks immersion to have to keep my eyes glued to the subtitles during cutscenes :/
Still waiting for atelier Escha & Logy and Shallie to come on sale so I can finish the Dusk trilogy and move on to the Mysterious games. Sofie has already been on sale more than once so why not these two?
@Kogorn733 it helps that FFXV has an absolute fantastic English dub. I actually started the game in Japanese but it was almost impossible to play it that way with all the banter going on between the boys. And I ended up liking the dub better than the Japanese voices.
@rjejr
X1 could be nice since my bro likes his splitscreen shooters and I think Halo and Gears both allow for that. I hate ND for removing splitscreen from Uncharted. I am now doomed to play Uncharted 3 co op for the rest of my life. Forza and SO sound interesting too.
Again, Scalebound never clicked with me, felt like Kamiya selling out to the Western market so I am glad that it never happened. I am currently playing God Hand, and it has been quite an experience. So cheesy and unpolished, yet so irreverent and fun.
Hoping to hear your YL impressions as brief as they may be.
Just started Dragon Quest Builders bought it on release but had a massive backlog what a awsome game is this. π
@sinalefa "Hoping to hear your YL impressions as brief as they may be."
Well as it turns out, when I went to quit Gamefly yesterday they offered me half off, so since we had YL in the house, I decided for my sons and I to each put about 20 hours into it was worth $8.64 for the next 30 days. And Playtonic doesn't really get any of that $ beyond the initial GF purchase, so I feel pretty good about it.
6 hours in, not up to J&D but better than I hoped reading some of the reviews. Glad minecart levels aren't "Gates" b/c I'd never progress. Stupid quizes are bad enough, but they go quick and I've only failed a couple of times. Well maybe more like a few times.
SO is installed and updated w/ a 3.2GB patch but I haven't started it yet, waiting until after YL.
@Reanfan7
Thanks for the reply!
@sinalefa "I may get Yooka after they patch it, or when they release it on Switch."
I'm about 12 hours into YL now. The first 5 or 6 were great, now it's annoying as the world hub is a maze of a disaster, but I have to move between them to get more pagies to expand the worlds. No fast travel is a big no-no in my book. Game could have used another 6 months of feedback. I'd say it's about 80% done.
