Well, here we are: our final Game of the Year 2016 article. Our staff have listed their personal picks, we've announced the site's top ten titles, and now, it's time to reveal the winners that you lot voted for in our community poll. By the time voting had closed on the 3rd January, we had received 438 votes split across 25 different PlayStation games. Without further ado, here are your top five PlayStation games of 2016.
5. Overwatch - 23 votes
Blizzard's team based shooter seems to have gone from strength to strength over the course of 2016, and we're sure that it'll continue to grow throughout 2017, too. Accessible but also packing a great amount of competitive depth, Overwatch has captured the trigger fingers of many. It's an extremely polished title that boasts a recognisable art style and a cast of lovable characters. With a dedicated community at its back and a hugely talented developer steering the ship, we can't wait to see what's next for our colourful heroes.
4. The Last Guardian - 32 votes
A PlayStation exclusive that, for a long time, seemed destined to never see the light of day, The Last Guardian stole our hearts when it launched right near the end of 2016. An emotional tale of a small boy and his not-so-small cat-dog-bird companion, The Last Guardian definitely offers a unique experience. As is the case with anything out of the ordinary, though, this was always going to be a divisive release - but the bottom line is that enough of you voted for it to make number four on this list. We reckon Trico deserves a good petting.
3. Ratchet & Clank - 52 votes
We can all agree that Ratchet & Clank is a fantastic PlayStation 4 remake - but we'll admit that we were a little surprised to see it grab so many of your votes. Insomniac's bombastic platforming adventure placed ninth in our own Game of the Year list, but you lot clearly have a soft spot for the cocky lombax and his little mechanical mate. A thoroughly enjoyable romp from start to finish, Ratchet & Clank isn't the biggest blockbuster on Sony's system, but it's got brilliant visuals, rock solid gameplay, and, most importantly, a lot of heart.
2. Final Fantasy XV - 54 votes
Pipping Ratchet & Clank to second place by just two votes, Final Fantasy XV surprised us when it launched back in November by, you know, actually being a really good game. Following a hellish development cycle that lasted a staggering ten years, we were genuinely worried for the future of the beloved franchise, but Noctis and the gang have somehow managed to restore our faith - and if that's not worthy of praise, we don't know what is. A memorable road trip across a gorgeous landscape, Final Fantasy XV proves that the series can still stand with the best that PlayStation has to offer.
1. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - 86 votes
Wow, talk about a clear winner. Topping Final Fantasy XV by 32 whole votes, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is your 2016 PlayStation Game of the Year. With this victory, Naughty Dog's latest epic seals the deal on a rather impressive hattrick of awards; our staff crowned it Game of the Year, our forum members crowned it Game of the Year, and now, our community has crowned it Game of the Year. Hard to argue with that, isn't it?
Nathan Drake's grandest adventure is really a testament to the outstanding talent of the team over at Naughty Dog - a studio that seems adamant to better itself with every title that it releases. Jaw-dropping visuals, top-notch characters, and the best gameplay in the series come together to create a truly masterful blockbuster.
And there we have it. Did you vote for Uncharted 4? Are you happy with your winners? Don't bother trying to turn back time in the comments section below.

Thanks for voting everyone!
Let the nagging begin... Mega gazz and others Will whine their heart out that Uncharted is nothing special.. Sigh
@get2sammyb Technically we didn't vote everyone
Uncharted 4 is my game of the year, there's no other choice
If only I had the chance to vote... Sorry but I don't come here every single day! Btw, Uncharted 4 is nothing special
I played all those games except overwatch... I really think that Dishonored deserved a spot in the top 5 games.... for me it was second after uncharted. That's my opinion at least
Uncharted is what it is: an utterly mainstream interactive action movie with insane production values. Not really my bag, but I enjoyed the third game when I played it recently. I've learned to accept these games for what they are.
Still can't get into TLOU, though.
I'm shocked DOOM isn't on here. I'm not really into first person shooters and even I thought it was still one of the best PS4 games of 2016.
I for one am OUTRAGED that Dead or Alive Extreme 3 is not in the top three at least. The plot, the gameplay, the production values.
I'm off to watch the release trailer again. Shame on you all.
@Rudy_Manchego We're just waiting for the VR update.
I'm surprise that in none of the top 10/5 lists I seen, not one person had Dark Souls 3 on it.
I never really got into Uncharted 4's story. Found the (seemingly hours of) smart ass dialogue with Elena such a turn off... really did almost ruin it for me. Never enjoyed the combat in Uncharted series either (although I loved it in Last of Us). Had some nice scenes .... sneaking in the house for the white journal was my fave. Playing Rise of the Tomb Raider just now and think its a vastly superior game in every way. Think Inside was my fave of the year! Looking forward to Last Guardian although it seems to have really polarised reviewers! Just read Edge's review of it today and it gave it a 9, defo picking it up!
High fives to the other 22 bros that voted Overwatch
@get2sammyb Ah, er good point. Ahem. Keep it up then. I shall check my preorder status.
@Sanquine Because it isn't.
Ratchet & Clank was received very well. Hopefully we'll get another one at some point, that's what I want after Insomniac finishes up work on Spider-Man.
No love for Dark Souls 3 here?
@Sanquine
Different strokes for different folks. Uncharted 4 is awesome though, definitely deserving.
Uncharted 4 was very good but I think that Among Thieves is the best in the series.
The three i voted for are the top three
FF15 with a deserved 2nd spot! Good going. I'm aiming at clearing the majority of my backlog by mid Feb so hopefully this year I will actually play some of the big games.
UC4 is clearly a must play game, I've not played it but for me it probably wouldn't make game of the year. Very much a PlayStation and Blizzard fanboy list.
Sweet! All mine made it!
Since the vote I've got my greasy mitts on Titanfall 2, Ratchet & Clank, Steep and PES2017. Think Ratchet & Clank would be top of my votes, then Titanfall 2, then PES2017.
@Bliquid yes, your sarcasm is almost amusing but the recently released 2016 most downloaded playstation games in the EU, Overwatch didn't make the top 20.
