The games updated for the PlayStation 4 Pro generally post big improvements, but inconsistencies between patches mean that not every title in the console's catalogue has been improved. Of course, we doubt that many of you are clamouring for a 4K version of Call of Duty: Ghosts – but there are evergreen outings in the PS4's library that would benefit from the hardware boost. Thus, we've compiled 10 titles that we seriously hope are fixed up for Sony's new format.
Bloodborne
For many it's one of the best games on the PS4, while there's an argument that it's one of the greatest titles of all time: Bloodborne simply must be updated for the PS4 Pro. While the outing's wonderful artwork would undoubtedly benefit from a resolution bump, it's the promise of smoother performance that have left many praying at the alter of From Software for a patch.

Destiny: The Collection
Clever co-marketing has transformed Destiny into one of the PS4's flagship brands, and while it runs nicely on a standard PS4, it would be nice to see the series take advantage of the resolution boosts made possible by Sony's new hardware. There's no question that the inevitable Destiny 2 will take advantage of the console, but millions of people will be returning to Bungie's existing FPS in the interim.
DriveClub
With developer Evolution Studios disbanded, it's almost impossible that this will happen, but given that it's one of the most attractive titles currently available on the PS4, we reckon that DriveClub would look absolutely unreal running in 4K on the PS4 Pro. An even more tantalising prospect would be HDR support, though, given how wonderful the racer's sunsets look on standard hardware.
Grand Theft Auto V
Sony's struck up a partnership with Rockstar Games for the impending Red Dead Redemption 2, so maybe it could leverage that relationship to get Grand Theft Auto V updated? Los Santos is still one of the densest open worlds in recent memory, and it would surely shine when taking advantage of the Japanese giant's beefy new box.
Overwatch
Much like Destiny, the excellent Overwatch is designed to be played for years to come, and so we'd love Blizzard to go back to the source code and update the experience for the PS4 Pro. The title's already pretty stable, but a resolution bump would enable its vibrant art to pop on 4K screens, and keep the release future proofed as it continues to grow over the coming years.
Resogun
Housemarque's already hinted that it will be taking advantage of the PS4 Pro, and it's even suggested that it will be revisiting some of its older games. We can't think of any better than Resogun, to be honest with you. Imagine how good those voxel effects would look at 60 frames-per-second in native 4K – our faces are beginning to melt just thinking about it.
Rocket League
Rocket League demands sturdy performance, but it can be that tiny bit shaky on a standard PS4. Locking the framerate at 60 frames-per-second on the PS4 Pro would be a great start, but its visual design is also underrated, and we reckon that it could be really brought to life at a higher resolution, with HDR enabling its colours to pop that little bit more.
The Order 1886
Alright, it was a bad game, but The Order 1886 had some absolutely astounding artwork that deserves to be experienced with the best image quality imaginable. Bumping the resolution while adding HDR could really add to the thick Victorian atmosphere already present in the game, while it may even be possible for Ready at Dawn to incorporate a 1080p option that rids the release of its divisive filmic borders.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
For many it's the best game on the PS4, and while CD Projekt Red may have moved on, millions are still returning to Geralt's fairy tale foray on a weekly basis. There's so much that the developer could do with the PS4 Pro: tighten up the performance, increase the image quality, lengthen the draw distance, enhance the density of the foliage – and please, please enable HDR for those stunning sunsets.
Until Dawn
A game that, in all truth, has been given short shrift by Sony – there's no question that Until Dawn beats Quantic Dream at its own genre. Framerate problems riddled the original release, so we'd love to see those cleaned up on the PS4 Pro – and this was already a looker, so a boost to the overall image quality would maintain its place as one of the prettiest titles on the platform.
Are there are any titles in particular that you'd like to see updated for the PS4 Pro, and why? Increase your image quality in the comments section below.

Skyrim should be on that list...
@kyleforrester87
On your list - The Witcher 3
Not on your list - Diablo III
I voted Witcher but I know that CD Projekt are busy with Gwent and Cyberpunk 2077. Anyway, who needs a patch? Just shove it in either the PS4 or the PS4 Pro but definitely upgrade to a 4K TV which will give all your games a facelift regardless compared to HDTV.
Unless you already have a 4K TV and a Pro, in which case you're already having too much fun to care about patches, surely?
"Alright, it was a bad game"
No
@viciousarcanum To be fair, it was. No one wanted The Order: 1886 to be good more than me: I adore Victorian London and loved the whole Gothic story they were going for. It just went absolutely no where and had some really shoddy gameplay sequences.
But off-topic... For the record, I'd love for them to have another crack at it, but it'll never happen.
I really wanted to vote for Resogun, but Bloodborne was there. Honestly, resogun is one of PS4's best and most underrated games. Just played it a bit more yesterday.
Also, I have to agree that the order was NOT a bad game at all.
@Mega-Gazz I really liked The Order, but it was a bad game for a lot of reasons to be fair. If it wasn't, more people would have enjoyed it and we'd have a sequel. But still really liked it myself.
The Order: 1886 without letterboxing would be cool for sure.
Not sure how D3 would benefit, it's already 1080p/60. Maybe 4K?
@viciousarcanum loads of people love order 1886, including me! There was an interesting forum thread comparing Unchartered 1 to The order and the points brought up were very true. For £50 I would have been a tad disappointed which I believe are the crux of the argument but for £15 it's a must play in my opinion.
If anyone's in any doubt about the pro at game today, you can buy a pro for £350 - take it home and transfer your data - then the following day take in your vanilla pro with 5 games for £175 exchange. That's a PS4 pro for £175, just sell on some crap games too and bobs your uncle. For £175 that's a great deal and one I would take advantage of if my wife wasn't so organised and loves arguing in Game about Xmas presents shes bought and makes staff, me and John the tramp with his copy of cod feel uncomfortable.
@GamerDad66 They might be able to get Diablo 3 up to native 4K to be honest.
Wouldn't Rocket League not be able to boost up to 60 frames per second? I thought multiplayer games aren't allowed to have an advantage.
I don't have a pro, or a 4k tv, or the game I'm going to mention (traded it in), but I would definitely want the Witcher as it is one of the best games I have played in a long time.
Bloodborne & the witcher 3 update is a must, the order 1886 is not because frankly I think it's already one of the best graphics title on the ps4, I can't believe the framerate is not 60 fps since its so smooth. I bought the game discounted at $10 so I think the order is okay, a 7 ish game, I don't think it worth at $60 thought.
I never realised Bloodborne was thought of that highly, but I think I spent about six months thinking that and The Order were the same game! Might pick it up in a sale.
The way I see it, for every old game that gets a Pro patch, that's one less game remastered Day 1 in native 4k on PS5.
And at this point 3rd party games like the Witcher 3 and Overwatch may instead be focusing on Scorpio upgrades rather than Pro patches as that should be a bigger jump. Not that I have any idea what Scorpio specs will be, but it should be better than Pro.
And seriously GTAV? That was a P3 game that was already sort of remastered when it released on PS4. Let them work on RDR and then GTAVI on PS5, enough of GTAV already.
@kyleforrester87 Bethesda can't fix anything. Everything they release runs terrible even a 5 year old game.....
@Flaming_Kaiser But they had it running so nicely on my standard PS4, they just need to give me a way to reduce the resolution again in the options! Ya hear me Bethesda?!
Dying Light would be prime for an update, and the Uncharted remasters.
You cant say the order is a bad game like its a fact because its not, gaming is all about that personal preference i really liked the order and all the games ready at dawn did to each their own
@ztpayne7 the game already its 60fps but it can slowdown at times so the pro could fix this the thing u mentioned only relates if the multiplayer game is 30fps on the ps4 then the developer isint allowed to make it 60 on the pro
On the list bloodbourne would be mine but not on the list would be GTA V I don't play it much but in online there is still some frame rate issues so I would hope a pro patch will fix this
Two words: Metal Gear
Two more words: Solid V
The order is probably one of the games that I've enjoyed the most this generation. More than UC4 campaign wise.
However on this list I would have to go with Bloodborne. They don't exec have to do much for me other than a little anti aliasing and fix the frame pacing.
None of them Only because I am not bothered about playing a game I have already finished just because it looks better etc etc. Future PS4 games is what excites me i.e I am not one of these sad internet people who is obsessed by framerates etc etc in the first place.
@themcnoisy I took part in this promotion but found out it's not as good a deal as it sounds. Your vanilla PS4 has to be in it's original box to be classed as grade A. And the 5 games get traded in towards the final price to pay. I went in to CEX and bought 5 of their cheapest games, spending £26 total. After convincing Game to accept my PS4 without it's box as it was in immaculate condition considering it was 3yrs old, I ended up having to pay £260 for the Pro with Dishonoured 2. Still a good deal but not what they originally offered. Original PS4, 5 PS4 games not including fifa 14 and fifa 15, get the Pro for £175. The actual deal, boxed PS4, 5 PS4 games trade in price to be taken from total price, final balance left to be paid. A tip for people trading in at Game, make sure you ask for the CEX price match.
Thinking is it that hard to patch unlocked framerate after all? I am no programmer myself, but from my point of view that should take no more than 1 hour at best. Maybe I am wrong. 4K resolution bump and shader enchantments I guess are more complex. High framerate mode on most games would do wonders to Pro's percepted purpose, status and sales.
I do not think its worth patching any game older than 6 months. Unless the patch is going to increase sales its not worth the resources or time that the company could be spending time on other projects. If Sony is paying companies to do it then its fine otherwise no.
@blakey78 its a good tip Game always beat CEX prices by £1 when your trading in. At one point last year I was buying COD from Tesco for £20 trading it in at Game asking them to price match CEX and was getting £29 for every game I brought in. You can get store credit as well which is better at game because you can use it for psn credit etc.
@dryrain
If I was in Sony's shoes I would start handing out all kinds of subsidies and incentives to companys to make those patches. And fast too
@Brunsvikas Thinking is it that hard to patch unlocked framerate after all?
Yes it is - unless you don't mind stuttering and crazy pacing issues.
FFXIV please! I upgraded from the PS3 to the PS4 for this game and would love to see further improvements on the PS4 Pro!
@dryrain Yeah, a lot of people are down on Game as a store, me too to a point. But for trade ins and convenience, there's no better place for me. As you said, you can use the in-store credit towards your PSN. It's a no brainer really. I have a good rapport with the staff at my local Game so I've not had many "bad" experiences.
The division for more stable framerates
Battlefield 4 for better draw distances, and 1080p/60fps
the order is quite possibly the worst big name game on the ps4! I'd rather quit playing games for life than go back in for another qte filled pile of crap!
I thought about voting for the Witcher 3 but as that game is essentially 'finished', I doubt I would get much from a patch. Therefore I voted for a game that is still current, still being played regularly - not just by me but millions and likely to be played for months to come - rather than a lot of these that at most would get played for 10-20minsjust to see how they look/play - which meant the the game I voted for was Destiny!
I assume Destiny 2 will run at 60fps since it's current-gen only. Or at least, I hope it will be.
On topic, I have to vote for The Witcher 3. Already looks incredible but better performance would be the icing on the cake.
Project Cars! This really really needs some stable framerates and or better AA.
Please you mad scientists, make it happen!
@BowTiesAreCool I thought blasphemies were not allowed on this site!
Transformers Devastation! That would surely look amazing in 4K and play like a dream!
Dying light, arkham knight, Mad Max... Oh.. And Just cause 3!! No game NEEDS the pro patch more than THAT!
I voted MGSV because it would look the bees knees.
The order was, in my opinion, an entertaining movie with below average game play. I enjoyed it because of the former and disappointed there won't be a sequel.
@FantasyMeister A PS4 Pro patch doesn't require much work at all. I believe that some Pro patches are done by a single person. PC runs higher settings, it's ''just'' a matter of increasing the settings on a PS4 version.
That being said, I take a patch that gets rid of all the glitches in TW3 over a PS4 Pro patch anytime.
@get2sammyb that stealth section:P
BF4...7 day's to die!
@ztpayne7 yeah they would BF1 run's at 60fps and look's much much better online on Pro. Even on a good 1080p.
@xMEADx @SKC_Diamond got it. That makes more sense. I didn't realize rocket league ran at 60 fps. I don't play it very much. So while it can't turn 30 to 60 in multiplayer, it will stabalize an already 60 that doesn't reach it
@ztpayne7 yeah that's the way I understand it anyway, the Pro does what the regular PS4 should of been able to manage but couldn't (in regards's to fps's) I think that's why a lot of people have a hard time justifying buying it.
@get2sammyb about order 1886 - I personally loved the game! It was only too short for me but I bought it for 20£ so length was adequate. It looked so amazing on PS4 that I even can't imagine what beside hdr and resolution could be souped up on pro. I always hoped there will be sequel. Sadly it will not happen probably. Another game I'm waiting for sequel for is Heavenly sword from PS3. It was gorgeous! I hope hellblade will have some strong team ninja DNA
I would state cases for Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection and Street Fighter V. SFV has some pretty poor shadows and low background textures that Pro can fix.
@fybyfyby all of the hate for The Order is all hyperbole. Anyone that spouts the utter nonsense that I have seen some people post, immediately lose all credibility. The game looks great (no one denies that), and its performance is on par with modern AAA titles. As far as game mechanics its pretty standard, doesnt take any risks. Then there is story, and looking at some pretty generic FPS/Cover storylines (the CoDs, Battlefields, Doom, etc...) there is nothing there that makes it worse than any other standard FPS/Cover game.
Its usually ONLY the length people have a problem with, and for good reason, though they give many, many other games a pass on this, so why does The Order not get a pass too? Price? Its the worst game in history because its original asking price was too high? Thats absurd.
I know most people disliked 'No Man's Sky' but I think it could definitely benefit from a PS4 Pro patch. Sean Murray said in an interview with Daily Star "For our game (No Man's Sky) it’s procedurally generated. So more powerful hardware doesn’t just mean upgraded textures or a higher framerate. It means we can fundamentally change the experience..." "With more powerful hardware, we can have more trees, more leafs on those trees. The density or immersion of worlds, or new types of worlds could exist."
Maybe that's exactly what this game need now. While it definitely didn't live up to what it looked like it was going to be, I stilled enjoyed the idea of the game. A PS4 Pro patched version might more closely live up to what was being promised when Murray talked about and showed the game off at events before release.
@thedevilsjester I agree. Lot of people hated QTEs, but like in GOW series I appreciated it. I read reviews so I knew game is short and its more or less like interactive film. I was happy about story, great visuals and of course...in the end I was sad, that this wasnt only prologue But definitely its for me one of the most memorables games so far on ps4 in a positive meaning.
@fybyfyby I understand that many do not like QTE's, but this doesn't make a game bad by any means. Hell Telltale makes games that are almost nothing but QTE's, and people eat them up.
I think its more complex than that. I do not think those that complain loudly about The Order actually hate it as much as they claim (there is nothing they complain about that I can't point to another critically acclaimed game that does the same thing). I think they have a limited budget, and didn't do any research into what kind of game The Order is (reading reviews, etc...) before they bought it, and when they got what felt more of a Telltale game than a London based CoD/GoW, they were understandably angry. Instead of directing that hate at themselves, where it belongs, because they failed to understand what they were buying (there are plenty of reviews during the launch window that clearly indicated what type of game it is) they irrationally lash out at the game.
The moral of the story is that if you have a limited budget for games, do your research before you buy the game. This holds true for all games, because if its not what you thought it would be, you will be out quite a bit of money.
I think Just Cause 3 should have a pro update so it can run properly.
Until Dawn would benefit from a steady framerate. It is already one of the greatest games this generation. Unfortunately a lot of developers have already moved onto new things. If Supermassive Games don't patch it for the pro, they might already be working on a sequel.
All of these games should be patched for the PS4 Pro
