Nintendo enjoyed its usual seasonal boost in the latest Media Create report, with both the Wii U and 3DS dominating the Japanese hardware and software charts. Despite this, it was a good week for the PlayStation 4 and Vita, with both systems selling over 35,000 units apiece. Gravity Rush Remastered was the headline new release, entering in tenth position with a respectable if unspectacular 25,004 units sold.
The curiously punctuated Steins;Gate 0 did better, with 38,746 units sold on the Vita and 38,156 units sold on the PS4. A further 8,645 copies were sold on the PlayStation 3, making for a pretty strong opening of just over 85k units overall. Elsewhere, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege opened with 23,402 units while both Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Star Wars Battlefront held on to the Top 20. A decent week all around, then.

I find it hard to believe that Capcom is (or was) in dire financial straits while also having Monster Hunter, lol.
It's great to see western titles make the Japanese top 20 on the regular these days, who would have guessed that Rainbow Six is a thing in Japan.
Gravity Rush deserves to do much better. Hopefully it'll do well in the Western territories but I have my doubts. Gravity Rush 2 will be the real test. I'm expecting zero for advertising for the remaster of the first game but 2 needs to get a serious marketing push. Sony doesn't advertise its own products for sh*t though unless it's Uncharted, God of War or Gran Turismo.
So exciting to see that Splatoon will most likely hit 1 million in Japan soon. For a new IP and a low install base that is incredible.
@zeldagaymer93
Some people at NL are saying it already did as this only covers physical copies. Very happy to see the ongoing support, that will ensure the community will continue to thrive.
@sinalefa I completely forgot about digital copies! I am obsessed with the game so it's great to see that it's not dying anytime soon.
Those 3ds numbers are great.
Funnily after a long absence I bought Super Mario Bros 3 for my 7 year old son on his 2ds and since then he's bought games for himself online (with help from the wife) for the very first time!! (We) He is now waiting on new super Mario bros 2 to arrive!!
That Monster Hunter X and Valkyrie Drive needs to come west. It needs to happen.
@Gamer83 I doubt that they will advertise it. It's a niche game after all. I mean, it is my favourite game in last 5 years and pure magic and all, but conceptually, it is not something that big crowd wants. Big crowd wants to shoot and mindless fun. But I think they can sell a million or something, if the game will be well made. It's hard to tell. Maybe it's better to sell this game through word of mouth.
Is steins;gate 0 a rework off steins;gate . Or is it a continuation off the story?. I am playing steins;gate at the moment on my ps vita. An loving it. Hoping for more in the future.
@Gemuarto
I agree with you that it doesn't have a huge appeal but I don't think it's so niche that it can't find a nice market for itself on a console with a userbase of what will likely be close to 40 mil by the time Gravity Rush 2 is out. To me if you're going to make a game or product, you should advertise it. Something Sony has been generally horrible at since the start of the PS3 era. To its credit it has done a good job of advertising the PS4 itself but it hasn't pushed the first party games at all, not even inFamous and inFamous is the kind of game that does have appeal, at least in the Western territories.
