Fallout 4 9

Director Todd Howard has spilled some interesting beans on Fallout 4 via an interview with Digital Spy. In it, the Bethesda development lead mentions that the post-apocalyptic adventure will have '"no load", referring to how seamless parts of the game's open world will be.

"In the city, it's very dense, but there is no load - like in Fallout 3, there's a load - for areas of the city, we don't do that," Howard commented. "So it's very dense, the buildings are tall, and a lot of them are open, so you can just walk in and around," he continued, conjuring pictures of titles like Grand Theft Auto V or The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Realistically, this could prove to be quite a big step forward for the franchise, and for Bethesda's titles in general. After all, players have often been critical of the load times and amount of load screens in releases like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. As for the Boston itself, Howard states that to avoid any kind of confusion, the studio is saying that the map's "about the same size" as Skyrim.
