Uncharted 4: A Thief's End PS4

Thought you'd seen the last of Nathan Drake for a little while? It would seem that following that staggering PlayStation Experience presentation, Sony's finally ready to blow the doors off Uncharted 4: A Thief's End ahead of its release later this year. Game Informer's up first, dedicating the cover of its February issue to the forthcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive.

"[The sequel] takes place three years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, and Drake's life has changed significantly," the publication's blurb reads. "Our cover story reveals what Nathan has been up to, what conflicts he's facing, and why he got back into the treasure-hunting life." The outlet were also treated to an extended demo, featuring bonus scenes.

In the trailer below, directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley talk a little more about the direction of the game, reiterating that it won't be the dark, post-The Last of Us affair that some people seem to be expecting. "We're not going to make it too dark," Straley sighs. "Everybody calm down. We're retaining all of the light heartedness – it's Nathan Drake."

The issue will also include a breakdown of the top 50 titles of 2014, as well as a look back at some of the role-playing games that defined the genre. Print copies are being sent to subscribers as we type, but if you want the digital version, you'll find more details on that through here.
