All three people still invested in Resident Evil’s increasingly complicated lore may be excited to learn that the upcoming Resident Evil: Revelations 2 – which was announced for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 last week – will star series legend Claire Redfield, the younger sister of body builder Chris.
The red headed police officer will be accompanied by Moira Burton – the daughter of Barry ‘Jill Sandwich’ Burton – and, like previous mainline instalments, you’ll apparently be able to control both of these characters in co-op. This is according to a story in the latest issue of GamesMaster magazine, which adds that the game will take place between Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6.
According to the report, the campaign will begin with the violent vixens awaking in an abandoned island prison. It’s there that they’ll probably run into all kinds of undead threats, including a new type of monster known as the ‘Afflicted’. “[These] may look like zombies, but are in fact something quite different,” producer Michiteru Okabe explained. Your guess is as good as ours.
Despite the co-op format, this title will maintain its predecessor’s penchant for traditional survival horror, meaning that you can expect some slow shuffles through creepy corridors. With the likes of The Last of Us and even Hideo Kojima’s brilliant Silent Hills teaser elevating the spooky genre, though, Capcom’s really got its work cut out if it wants to rule the scary sector of the market again.

I must be one of those few who enjoyed Resi 6
still can't wait for more info on this I love the Resi series
I approve of this move.
I'm waiting for confirmation of a raid mode, raid mode was the best thing about the first revelations, so addictive
I wonder if they mean couch co-op or online mp.
I really can't wait for this.
@FullbringIchigo I liked all the main games of Resi except 3... I don't know... Making thing like munitions is not my thing... I really like it when there is Coop spit-screen in a game!
@spyro202 yeah I wasn't a huge fan of Resi 3 at first but when you realise that Code Veronica was ment to be Resi 3 and Nemisis was originaly the side game it tends to change how you look at the game
No resident evil has been scary , it doesn't need2 be . Just be good please , resi 2 still my fav
Nah. Pull the other one....
People still read magazines?
Revelations was fantastic, can't wait.
I know people keep saying about there being too many remakes and ports about but.....
If they do REmake 2 I would be so happy that game had the creepiest atmosphere for me and great music I remember feeling tense playing the first resi games and revelations did feel like a return to what made Resident evil a great game
Great news, Claire has always been one of my favorite RE characters.
Claire is hot
Cannot wait.
Capcom has a solid formula for decent co-op gameplay. Looking forward to this one a lot.
