While there may not have been a Resident Evil 7 announcement at the pre-Tokyo Game Show conference, it didn't mean that we weren't getting some new horrific Biohazard action to join the HD remake of the original. Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be launching on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan during early 2015 — a surprise, considering that the original launched on Nintendo consoles first.
We won't be seeing Jill and Chris making a return, though, as it's been revealed that the game will feature new characters in a new setting. The core staff behind the first title will stay the same so it shouldn't stray too far from its predecessor, however. While the live action trailer is meant to give some hints to new gameplay gimmicks, we'll need to wait for the show to get properly acquainted with the undead, but Capcom encourages you to guess in the meantime. Honestly, we reckon that the coloured wristbands in the monotone trailer make a lasting impression.
With the game to be demoed on the show floor, we're already shaking with excitement — or is that fear? Are you dying in anticipation for the continuation of this classic survival horror franchise? Groan in the comments section below.

Eventhough not much was revealed... sign me up. I loved the first game.
I am confused about what they said... they said it was a whole new setting is this set in the resident evil universe or not? I hope it keeps the gameplay of the original, specially the very adictive raid mode
Shame this isn't Vita-bound...
@Dodoo
At least there's still plenty of opportunity for PS fans to get the game, the people I feel awful for are the Nintendo gamers. The first was made for and sold best on 3DS, there was a Wii U version which outsold the 360 version and Capcom just flips them the bird. Pathetic business practice, just like the stupid a$$es at SquareEnix and Crystal Dynamics taking the MS moneyhat for Rise of the Tomb Raider but the worst part is, there was no moneyhat involved here, just Capcom's own stupidity which is why that company is in the shape it is.
YES RESIDENT EVIL REVELATIONS 2!!

This. So much. I just fail to understand the motive behind this. They're better off just releasing it on all platforms. At least that way they'd retain their integrity in the gaming community as well as maximize their income potential. From this point on, I'm boycotting Square Enix, Capcom, EA, Activision and Ubisoft games that AREN'T releasing on Nintendo platforms. It's astounding how they keep pandering to the lowest common denominator in the gaming community. Just because the hardware's out there doesn't mean the software will sell that exact amount.
There's a new a sheriff in town when it comes to survival horror, it's Hideo Kojima. My expectations for any new resident evil game have gone down the toilet.
If he can scare the you know what out of me in a 45 minute demo imagine what he's capable of in a full retail release.
Regardless, I grew up on resident evil and have had my fair share of scares. I'll keep an eye out for this one but I'm expecting a more of a survival action game.
Why not on Vita? :"""(
@Gamer83
Agreed. I'm glad it's coming to PS4- I'm definitely buying it, I mean it's not like I ever miss any games I want, but I expected this to at least land on 3DS, considering the high sales and that's where it originated.
It did sell like crap on Wii U, but, like you said it outsold the Xbox version and yet it's coming to Xbox. And I'm sure more Nintendo fans would have bought it on Wii U if a million people hadn't already shelled out for it on 3DS.
Just doesn't make any sense. Especially with the new 3DS and built in 2nd analog there'd be no need for a CPP. And people wonder why Nintendo fans resent 3rd parties...
I am hyped after the trailer, I would rather of had a sequel for my 3ds but nevermind.
So anyway looks like the bracelets are some sort of device that maybe contains some form of temporary antidote to stop people from turning and at the end of the trailer it looked like there was a guy on his walkie-talkie and another dude behind the zombie the girl points at looks like he is about to swing something. I hope capcom are finally going to start to figure out what resi fans want and learn what fans loved about revelations and hated about resi 6.
With REmake HD coming soon at least I know there is definitely 1 Resident evil on the way that I will love.
Well I saw someone wearing a Terrasave shirt will Claire's organization play any part in this game.
