Tearaway Unfolded is a bit of a strange, papery proposition. Presented during Sony’s big Gamescom 2014 press conference as a kind of adaptation for the PlayStation 4, it wasn’t entirely clear whether it will boast brand new content or the exact same puzzles and areas as its PlayStation Vita predecessor. Now, an IGN report straight from Cologne has confirmed that around 50 per cent of the package will be brand new.
In fact, this sounds much more like a remake than a retread of the handheld title that deployed last year. Environments have been made to feel bigger and livelier, with the addition of new characters to flesh out those spaces, while even the narrations are being re-recorded. Moreover, the title’s already running at 1080p, with 60 frames-per-second the target. Has this coloured your anticipation for the faux re-release? Bend our ear in the comments section below.

PlayStation 3 predecessor?
Anyway, sounds good, always in for more Tearaway, it was great on Vita. It seems basically like an adapted and expanded version 1.5 sequel. A bit like what Super Mario 3D World is to Super Mario 3D Land, to a lesser degree.
What platform did Tearaway originally launch on, Sammy?
@shibbyduckegg @Cyrso Ahem.
Oh no. Media Molecule have caught on to Monster Hunter's, Soul Sacrfice's & Toukdien's methods of "re-release."
Vita
The news about this game just keep getting better and better. The original game already had around 10 hours of content (according to HLTB) so the new game will possibly have at least 20 hours of content, which sounds really good in my ears if that's the case.
@Sadodi Well, it's not clear whether they've replaced half of the original's content and padded it back out with new bits, or whether it's all of the original plus an extra campaign on top. Could go either way, really.
@get2sammyb
Well, my speculation would be that they added additional sidequests for the new characters that are in the new space of the re-designed worlds. Or maybe even new sections between the worlds of the original game. Either way, I'm really hoping that they've made the game longer because of this.
Can't wait to finally try this one on my PS4.
@Cyrso "A bit like what Super Mario 3D World is to Super Mario 3D Land, to a lesser degree"? In what world? Not this one in any way, shape or form. World is a completely different game to Land while this will be the Vita game with new content.
@Cyrso Yep
Well when you cant afford to develop new games... develop half a new game and pretend it's not a port.
@Cyrso I have to agree with @rastamadeus this not like 3D Land to 3D World that is like saying Reyman Legends is a 1.5 sequel to Origins but they're different games whereas in this quite a bit of content from the last game is being recycled.
More Tearaway is always nice, no matter what platform, so much excitement!
Got to be honest - I'm not sold here. Tearaway is one of the most charming games that I've ever played and it was perfect on the Vita. As great as the Dualshock 4 is I don't see how this game will actually play better than the original.
It'll be great if more gamers get exposed to Tearaway because of this, but I'd still suggest checking out the original.
I like this because I am closer to get a PS4 than a Vita, but I still would have liked a sequel instead of an enhanced port, and having this IP not being a Vita exclusive anymore is kind of another low blow for the poor portable.
@voodoo341 why don't you go pre order the master chief collection, buddy.
I found it way to easy to 'Tear' myself 'Away' from the vita version. I thought is was overrated. I did like the look of it, but that was about it.
