Grand Theft Auto V Hijacks PlayStation 3 on 17th September

Grand Theft Auto V will bask in the Los Santos sunshine from 17th September, publisher Rockstar Games has announced. That represents a small delay over the title’s originally planned spring launch, but the publisher promises that it will be worth the wait.

"The biggest, most dynamic and most diverse open world Rockstar Games has yet created, Grand Theft Auto V blends storytelling and gameplay in new ways as players repeatedly jump in and out of the lives of the game's three lead characters, playing all sides of the game's interwoven story," the press release teases.

The title will put you in the shoes of former street gangster Franklin, retired ex-con Michael, and violent maniac Trevor, as they pull off a series of "daring and dangerous heists that could set them up for life". The release will also boast an "ambitious approach to open world multiplayer", but the publisher is keeping that under wraps for the time being.

"Grand Theft Auto V continues to push the series forward in new ways; Rockstar North are creating our deepest, most beautiful and most immersive world yet," founder Sam Houser added. "We are very excited for people to learn more about the game in the coming months."

The delay's disappointing, but at least we finally have an official date. Are you looking forward to the game? Let us know in the comments section below.
