Well Diablo 3 is awesome and much loved by a lot of people, so yes it's fantastic news for anyone who hasn't played it.

Rumor is the price tag will be $59.99 for Diablo III for the Switch. It includes the Reaper of Souls and Necromancer expansion packs as well as all patched up to date but paying $60 for a 5 year old game. Unless they offer transferring your character from the PS4 version I may just wait till it goes on sale to get it.

$60 for it is a bit steep, even with DLC and new content.

But its also Activision Blizzard so shock horror there the sky is blue.

@kyleforrester87 Fantastic news for anyone who hasnt played, assuming they give a damn, which would explain how they spent 6 years not playing it

I mean its a nice port. Has a very accessible LAN mode for 4 player it seems. Just...dunno it feels off this one and I cant grasp why

$59.99 is fair for Diablo 3 + all expansions and DLC, I reckon.

I want to know what the performance is like before I commit to buying it, but I've always wanted to play this game, so this seems like a good opportunity to get into it.

Also, the complete edition on PS4 is still easily £30 at retail.

Still don't understand the issue with the price. It's a new game on Switch, why would it be less? The PS3 version wasn't less, it had been out on PC a couple of years earlier. And then it was full price again on PS4 despite it already being out on PS3, (granted it came with an expansion) And finally the Necromancer pack was, what, £15 on PS4? For a new character? Very steep. But in the context of this particular game it is fine since it's worth it as it offers so much fun gameplay. I've spent about £100 on Diablo 3 in the PS environment, so £60 on Switch is not an issue to me. It's worth double that tbh.

Anywhooo, Diablo 4 please, Blizzard!

You've gotta remember, Nintendo fans.

It's fine if it costs that much elsewhere but as soon as it does on a Nintendo system its greed.

The Eternal Evil edition is $39.99 on Amazon for PS4.

So, putting aside taxes and pre-order discounts, it's an increase of $20. Not ideal, but also not bad if you want a fully portable version of the game.

Blizzard can and should charge more to make back the money they spent porting and optimizing the game for the Switch.

Except...

It's Activision Blizzard. Blizzard alone could fund this entirely off of Overwatch lootboxes.

@Ralizah Wait, are you arguing the game should be more expensive?

Apparently. Forgetting this is the company that own fricking Candy Crush and gave their CEO a bonus in the MILLIONS.

@Octane $59.99 was MSRP for the Eternal Collection on PS4. $39.99 is the discounted price it quickly sunk to because almost everyone who wants it on PS4 has already purchased it previously.

I don't think they should charge more than MSRP (that'd be stupid), but I don't think they're obligated to launch the Switch version at a discount, either.

$59.99 is the right price for the Switch version.

@Ralizah That was four years ago though. I see a six year old game for $40, that's... fair I guess. It's currently €30 on other consoles.

I completely understand if it was a new game. That's expensive. But a port of an older game? The resources that went into porting this over to Switch pale in comparison to developing a new game. The profit margin is probably higher on this port than it was on the original release. Anyway, if a company like Activision prices a game at €40, they have very good reasons. They'd be one of the first to slap a €60 price tag on it. It's safe to assume they make more than enough money off this version.

We're getting new games like Ratchet & Clank for €40. A SOTC remake, but completely built from scratch, for €40. Even Nintendo had range of ''budget'' titles that lasted until the Switch. It's a competitive market.

@Octane No, the Eternal Collection launched this year. On PS4. For $59.99. It's still that price on the Playstation Store when it's not on sale.

That's the version the Switch is getting. Not the base version that launched years ago.

It's launching at the same price, on Switch, that it launched at on PS4 earlier in the year.

If it was the base version of the game that launched years ago, I'd understand complaints about the price.

But it's not, so I don't.

And Nintendo's games typically only go down in price after at least a few years on the market.

@Ralizah That's weird. I didn't know that. But it did drop in price rather quickly then, since it's only €30 on PS4 right now. Maybe it didn't sell well and they decided that the €60 price tag wasn't a good strategy? I certainly don't remember it showing up in the sales charts.

Anyway, 40 is a fine price I think. 60 on PS4 and Xbox was too much IMO if it came out this year.

Oh nice I like the fact that I can go straight into Adventure mode without having to do story mode. Anyword if we can transfer characters from other versions of Diablo III?

Noooope. But you can transfer cloud saves to other Switch systems or something weird if you want to bring your character to your friends games.

Nintendo games take forever to drop in price so they should be used to it.
