Topic: PS Plus worthwhile for just Vita owner?

When I lived back in England I had a Vita (registered as American) but when I moved to the US last year I sold it as I had a 3DS at the time too. Anywho, I have a Wii U atm and bought a Vita again the other day (how many people can claim to be hipster enough to have the Wii U and Vita as their only current consoles, huh?) and was just wondering whether PS Plus would be worthwhile to someone who only owns a Vita?

I was bummed to see that Rogue Legacy was part of it last month on Vita as that's one game I'm set on buying.

Another question: how frequent are NA sales on Vita games? I'm wondering whether I should splash out on games like Rogue Legacy, Disgaea 3, Oreshika, Hotline: Miami or Atelier Rorona Plus off the bat or wait until they go on sale? I do have FFIX, FFT:WoL and Powerstone in my purchase history I can just re-download for the time-being and occupy myself with.

Most of the free games are more expensive normally than a months subscription so even if you don't want to subscribe for longer than a month it's worth picking up the subscription for your freebies if you like the look of them.

But you'd only have access to that game for the length of your PS+ subscription though, right? Or do you have it on your Vita forever?

I guess the fact I don't really think about it in that way means I think the service is good enough to continue paying for.. in that respect it's worth doing. But JUST for the Vita? Hmmm maybe not you know! I do like my Vita but great free ps+ games seem few and far between these days and I'd probably spend the same amount buying them as I would on a plus subscription. Maybe less if I waited for sales..

Yes and no. Yes as you often get good games. No as they are running out of not just good but great games to offer (Persona 4 Golden is the only big one missing and then it's a couple of others like Freedom Wars) and I highly doubt PS+ will continue on Vita - or PS3 - for much more than this year, if even that.

Sony Rewards on PlayStation isn't a thing in the UK so don't bother with that.

You're right, I read that wrong. Apologies. Although if he's got a UK PSN account it still won't work. If it's American it will.

My account's American. Think while I have just have a Vita though I'll hold off on PS+ for the meanwhile.

Yes it is - 4 vita games in one month or two back say hi. The way I see it is if you really want a game then buy it, if you can wait then wait on psplus. Rather than get games or stuff for Xmas, Easter or birthdays I have proposed cheaper subscriptions to my family (ps plus and magazines) rather than games. As they last all year and its cheaper, and one year I got bought dance central and terminator, that was a crap Christmas. Anyway I reckon it is worth it, as I had psplus on my vita before I purchased a ps4. REALLY IMPORTANT - I asked a psplus question on resogun last week and the same game has never been put on psplus twice (so I bought it) I don't know if that's a sony or psplus policy but you should buy rogue legacy as it shouldn't come up in the roster again.

I'd say probably not to be perfectly honest. I think PS Plus is at its best when you have all three systems. I wouldn't say it's worth it if you've only got one - especially as multiplayer is free on PS3/Vita.

I got it when I was only a Vita owner and I thought it was worth it because back then you got Gravity Rush and Uncharted Golden Abyss the moment you signed but now that they don't have those big games as sign bonus I'll say its not worth it..... having PS+ as a Vita only owner also forced me to buy a PS3 because I couldn't resist all the games I was missing on

i only have a vita and was only able to wait a month or so and then some awesome games came up for it and i had to get ps+. but i found it on sale for $40 and its well worth it. also i wait for games to go on sale almost always. and almost all games go on sale for a lot less eventually. and ive saved a ton because of ps+, not to mention all the free games. i say get it.

I'm a new Vita owner (only) and took the plunge. I think I've saved $10-$15 on purchases and have three games- I really wanted Geometry Wars. That was $15. So, in less than a week, I've gotten no less than $25 out of it, plus two additional games to try out. So, I have 51 more weeks to recoup $25. I think it will be more than worth it.
