I've promised wifey that from Valentines day my PS4 will be switched off for a whole month! That's true love. Keep any of the msg threads alive on the ps4 so they don't close!
I will be back on from the 14th March.
Is this madness? A nice thing to do? Would you do it? Discuss below.

Nintendo 2017: Super Mario Bros 3
Playstation 2016: Uncharted 2
Multiplat 2015: Final Fantasy 7
I hope my wife doesn't see this thread as I don't want her getting any ideas! But good for you, sounds like you're only doing this for her, which of course is a nice thing to do.
And well done for choosing the shortest month in which to do this
@themcnoisy honestly my wife games as much as i do so it's not an issue for me but i think i would actually
your wife is more important than a gaming console after all
"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"
"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!
Does that mean no reading and chatting about PS4 though? What about Vita - no sneaky sessions planned on the bog?
I think it would be hard going cold Turkey. To me, if I didn't game I would want to replace with something else, like movies, books, music, heroin or making stop motion animation films with vegetables.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
I find that I sometimes need some me time and I'm pretty sure my other half has the same thoughts too, so playing games is one of the things I do to relax during this time. A bit of a break helps us appreciate each other more and we all know the saying about what makes the heart grow fonder. So I guess what I'm saying is that even without gaming you should still make some time for yourself or you may find that this act of affection has backfired and you are romantically in a worse place than when you started.
At most, I would have given up a week - maybe 2 at a push but I doubt I would not game if my wife went out for a few hours and I was home alone or if she wasn't prepared to give up something important to her. I doubt she would give up watching her Soaps for a month for example so why would I give up gaming.
Of course all relationships are different and people too.
A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!
Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
Well, you can't play PS4, but you didn't say anything about other systems....

@kyleforrester87 "and to be fair it doesn't seem like you play much anyway."
Seriously? I was averaging 5+ hours a day in December / Jan. That's a lot of time.
@Mergatro1d "And well done for choosing the shortest month in which to do this"
Haha caught me, great spot.
@Rudy_Manchego "What about Vita - no sneaky sessions planned on the bog?"
Caught out twice now haha!
I would like to thank all the replies, boss people roam these threads and all the advice is brilliant. I will still be using pushsquare obviously, but anyone in any of the ps4 msg threads dont let them close!

@kyleforrester87 I dont, compared to some of you Destiny heads out there lol. In all seriousness with my wife nearly dieing a few weeks ago it put life into context. I've had as great a time as any on console recently ff15 (70plus hours), tf2 (30 hours), the witness (1 week nonstop), infamous ss (40 hours) day of the tentacle (8 hours) etc etc. Its been pretty amazing actually, throw in usf4 on Thursday and its been the best run of great games I've played in a row since the PS1 and Amiga before that. So its a good time to put the controller down and swap it for a remote control and popcorn.

I'm humbly against that, can't she accept you like spending time with games? Surely she knew that was your hobby when you started dating.
Anyway, it's your relationship so I'm sure you're doing what's right for both of you.
When I read stuff like this I'm glad I don't have a girlfriend.
