This game is the business.

Seriously, Team Ninja is on their A game with Nioh. Japan is really stepping it up with their AAA titles lately. And I'm liking that.

I did find it to be really difficult though for being so early into the demo- makes me wonder how hard it'll be 5-10 hours into the game. Just taking on multiple enemies at once proved to be a potentially fatal proposition. One mistake... You're done. And you could pull off a great combo then die from the second dude in the middle of your attack. I'm all for the whole Dark Souls thing but really, this game is tough as nails. Need to tone it down a bit. Difficulty is great but there is such a thing as too much. At least, being so easy to die when fighting 2-3+ enemies at once.

@JaxonH: It is a tough game. Part of the puzzle is finding the best way to navigate the environment. Using stones to thin out the herd before going in and using a long weapon like a spear for crowd control are a couple of ways to handle multiple enemies. On top of that, some equipment offers a sense ability which highlights enemies on your radar. Excellent game so far!

Playing the last chance demo now.... Have to re-learn how to play . Still a great game. Very hyped.

Tried it but couldn't beat that Ogress boss.

@WanderingBullet You'll get it with time, and perhaps gear

Curious, how did you build your character? I haven't hit the ogress yet, but so far have done what I did in beta - swords, with points in spirit first (up to 8 so far with the shark, so 100 health and 100 health regen after each kill), then one in skill (for armor effects) and the rest in heart. I've basically not touched the actual weapon skills yet this time.

@Mega-Gazz I mainly just leveled up BODY, HEART, STAMINA, and more which I've forgotten the name. I don't even know how to get the back stab "triangle" button skill. lol

Doubt I will, I'm terrible at reading the bosses visual cues.

I beat the ogress tonight, she was quite tough. I posted a screenshot to the ps4 community, I had like a sliver of health left and no elixers when I beat her.

Then Tachibana Muneshige procceeded to beat me up for a while, despite me cheesing. I'll have to get some more levels/gear before I beat him.

@Mega-Gazz Finally defeated the Lilies boss with the help of a visitor. Just to confirm thats the only mission that unlocks new rewards for the full game and the other three doesn't, right? I'll probably won't be getting the game but just incase I do in future at least I have these DLCs.

@WanderingBullet IIRC there are a total of 4 DLC unlocks:

  • Mark of the Warrior - I think this is the alpha name for Mot Strong
  • Mark of the Strong - Originally for clearing the second stage?? of the alpha/beta. you can activate on the store and download this one.
  • Mark of the Conqueror - Originally for clearing alpha/beta first level. this seems bugged, alot of people say.. but make sure purchase history on PS Store reflects this DLC and you're fine (supposedly, I'll let you google if you have issues).
  • New DLC for beating the last chance trial. You have to keep the save game from the trial and the full game will read the save and give it to you. I'm unsure if you need the application too or just the save.

@Mega-Gazz Thanks, I've think gotten both Mark of the Strong and Mark of the Conqueror from previous betas.

Managed to beat the twighlight mission and tachibana in time, though I was lvl ~28 and wearing all of tachibana's gear and weapon by the time I beat him. Also a real shame that the ogress didn't scale up at all in twighlight, which made her a 1-shot. Hope they fix that.

@Mega-Gazz Hi, since the game is already out, I can delete the Last Chance Trial Beta, right?

lol good question

Edit: I haven't deleted mine, but I suspect after you get to the second mission, go to a shrine, and select the "boon" thing to claim the DLC, you can probably delete it.

Honestly I found that the DLC stuff made the first mission way too easy (I one-shotted the boss) so I put it all away in storage.

One attempt, not one swing.

I just popped living weapon right off so I could ignore his attacks and just dps. The 22% extra yokai dmg from nioh's tachi helped . That alone brought him to half health and into phase 2.

From there I popped a water talisman thingy to make my weapon do water dmg, stayed in high stance, was sure to purify all the yokai realms and he died in no time.

PS, @Tasuki should this thread be marked as "OT" ?
