Topic: Metal Gear Solid V OT

I'll be picking it up day one. I would have pre ordered it if we were still able to get the CE here in the states, but its sold out everywhere I've checked. I don't pre ordere games unless its a CE or a niche game like Etrian Odyssey or Hyper Dimension Neptunia, but I'm sure this will be widely available day one.

But I'm down, I'm not sure what the online will be like, though I'd imagine it will be similar to Peace Walker's. I've been avoiding the news for this game as much as I can because I would much rather go into it blind. I'm sure I'll love it though, Peace Walker is my second favorite MGS with Snake Eater being number one.

But yes, I'll be picking it up day one and will be more than down to play some online with you guys. I suppose just add me on PSN if you'd like. ;3

@thatguyEZ: Cool throw us a friend request if you are by your ps4. MGS3 is my favourite as well. I worked out taking the fake death pill 💊 after the long walk past all the ghosts all by myself and felt like the cleverest person ever.

@themcnoisy I just sent it. I'm pretty sure I had to look that part up online though, I figured I was going to get captured and have to use the pill then. D; Ahh, just talking about it makes me want to play it again.

@thatguyEZ: Accepted thanks. I walked through it 5-6 times and when I clicked L1 on accident when I was totally frustrated and pressed all the buttons and twirled the sticks on my fifth go I noticed it opened up. That was when the light bulb struck pretty clever.

Konami announced the Online portion of the game will be delayed until October 6th. Heads up everyone!

I'm buying it... used. Konami hasn't earned back my trust.

@thatguyEZ: why would you not pre-order it if you're going to buy it day 1 regardless? I get not doing it if you're going to wait for a price drop, but if you are buying day 1 then you really might as well just pre-order it - you'll probably get it cheaper than you will find it in store if you pre-order online, and with the added bonus it will be delivered right to your door on release day (sometimes even the day beforehand)! Either way, good to see another person getting involved, looks like we'll have quite the crew when the online drops in October!

@SteveButler2210: I just don't like to give companies my money based on a promise. I feel like publishers and retailers have perverted what preordering was supposed to be in the first place. Though certainly not all publishers are guilty of it, but still, a lot of them have taken advantage of the consumer in the past with pre orders. As far as the publisher is concerned, the game doesn't even really need to be good because they've already got your money for it so the game could end up being awful and they'll still get paid. Though ordering from Amazon and having it delivered on launch day is really nice. ;3. But I don't think preordering in itself is bad, it's nice to be able to secure your purchase. I had pre ordered Etrian Odyssey Untold 2 and went and picked it up at Best Buy yesterday and couldn't be happier, though they really wouldn't have had a copy for me if I didn't preorder because the series is so niche.

Hopefully that made sense, I just woke up so it might be all over the place. D;

But yes, having a group of people ready to play is going to be great! PP is one of my most anticipated games of the year and the 1st can't get here soon enough. ;D

@thatguyEZ: Yeah I guess I see what you mean and agree in most cases I will wait until reviews before making a decision to put my money down. But I just figure in this case there is nothing that will stop me picking this up day 1, so might as well pre-order! Also helps as sites like Amazon will always give you the lowest price if it fluctuates between the time you pre-ordered and the actual release of the game, which is handy!

I am, but I have a 360. However, everybody is buying Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain. Next thing you know Wii U owners are gonna buy the game just for the sake of having it.

Dunno how you guys feel about varsity jackets, but I found these:

Varsities aren't my thing, but the opportunity to wear a jacket reading BIG BOSS is just too good for me to pass up. However, they're 79.99€, which is probably an arm and leg. I dunno what the cost would be for US currency because I can't conversion rate.

@DerMeister: I prefer game clothing which isn't obvious. I had a san Andreas top like it was a real place and a sf2 t shirt where it was ryus headband gloves as the logo on the left chest. Boss. That coat is really grim as well.

@themcnoisy Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. I like game clothing either way as long as it looks nice.

Also, I think I like the jacket because of the grim look. Don't get me wrong I love colorful clothing, but with varsities I feel that sometimes colors just make them look awful. The darker colors make this jacket look more slick to me.
