Re: Nacon's Revolution 5 Pro Controller Promises to Eliminate Stick Drift on PS5, PS4

@RainbowGazelle last sentence of the "Design" section from the Wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_controller#Design):

The PlayStation 2 console is backwards-compatible with the original PlayStation controller, with limited functionality due to a lack of analog sticks and pressure-sensitive buttons.

I'm not sure what PlayStation you played on, but it was not the first version.

Re: Reminder: Last Chance to Stack PS Plus Subscriptions Before Price Rise

I'm not sure if this was mentioned, but iirc when the 3 tiers were first introduced you couldn't downgrade plans.
I remember because I got Premium automatically from the initial PS Plus + Now conversion, but only really wanted Extra, and I couldn't do it.

Well I tried now, and it is possible to downgrade! I still have Premium until April, but it will only renew Extra then.

Only open question is, if I buy more Extra on sale before then, will it stack? 🤔

@gbanas92 maybe you missed the part where with the Pro drums adapter, you can use real electronic drums to play? I use a foldable Roland set, for example.

For most songs, the notes in the highest difficulty are mapped one to one with the real track.
You can get fussy about "realistic", but if a song can be played with a standard electronic kit, I'm not sure what exactly is missing

@Hoodie718 Rock Band has had bass drum since the first game in 2008.
Rock Band 3 introduced "Pro Drums", with an additional 3 cymbals, for a total of 8 different "notes": 4 toms, 3 cymbals and bass drum.

Since then, they've even sold devices to make real electronic drums compatible with Rock Band.

While I'm not disputing Drums Rock might be fun (and I'll definitely try the demo), I can't imagine it being very realistic without any bounce back from the drums or bass drum.

If anybody is looking for a real drumming simulator game, there are far better options (albeit quite pricey).

@Kidfunkadelic83 still "preparing to ship" here as well, bought the bundle on the 15th of November.
Fwiw on reddit people suggest the non-bundle version has been shipped.

I'm instead secretly hoping that the people that received their confirmation live somewhat remote and DPD needs to ship their parcel earlier to make it in time. If that's the case, then, if you live in a big city you could still get it tomorrow but only be notified late.

Re: How Devs Are Massively Upgrading Their Old PSVR Games for PSVR2

One big hurdle to overcome for Astrobot is how deeply integrated the DualShock was to whole game.
I haven't seen anybody talk about it, but I've been thinking about it a bit and I fear we will never see it for PSVR2.

Not only you could literally see a 3D model on screen if you looked down, but, from memory:

1. Astrobot would live inside it (yes, literally)
2. You have to fling the touchpad to start a level
3. You have to aim the DS for just about ALL of the gadgets you unlock:

  • Hook Shot
  • Ninja Star
  • Water Gun

Also all of the gadgets (even the ones that could be easily ported to be used with a new stick controller, like the Pellet Gun) were created with a SINGLE point of use in mind (ie the DS you hold with both your hands), so I'm not sure they translate well when you have 2 possible inputs.

Maybe all of these problems can be overcome, and if there is a studio creative enough to do so is indeed Team Asobi, but at this point I could see them just pouring energy and resources into a sequel instead.

Re: Sony Confirms PS Plus Subscription Stacking Has Been Blocked

I honestly don't understand all the fuss. Are you all just a bunch of kids crying because you wanted to have a new expensive service for much cheaper than its actual new price?
People that bought a code to redeem will be able to do so in the future, or they can get a refund.
It's not pretty, but if they gave you notice, you'd have stacked them like crazy right? So the only way is to do it the way they did it.

@Quintumply I'd like to hear more about how difficult the game is. My girlfriend and I are very excited about this game, this and other reviews being so positive have almost sealed the deal.
But my girlfriend is not a gamer: she enjoys some casual platforming (eg we played Astrobot together, play Fall Guys every once in a while), but anything more tough than that can be frustrating (eg twin stick games, she doesn't have the patience to learn the skill...)
