I hear and read a lot of emotion about this topic of digital vs. physical. That's to be expected. However, the important debate isn't about how it makes you feel. The important part is the facts concerning removal of physical media.

In a nutshell, With physical media:

-You decide when to play it.
-You decide when to sell it.
-You decide when to lend it.
-No internet required (on most)
-No account required.
-No company approval required.

With digital:

-Your access depends on servers.
-Your access depends on account status.
-Your access depends on licensing agreements.
-Your access depends on DRM.
-Your access depends on a company's continued existence.

One gives you possession.

The other gives you permission.

These are facts, not feelings. This is the objective reality of physical media going away, not the subjective feeling we may or may not have about it.
