@PsBoxSwitchOwner Are you seriously just gonna leave out the increased complexity and cost of game development? The average team required to make a AAA game these days have ballooned up to over a 100 people easily. And again, with inflation, the salaries are obviously way, way higher than in the 90s. It was not common back then to be able to buy every game you wanted, and here we are in 2023 and people have backlogs bigger than a black hole.
I really dont get people complaining about AAA costing £70 per game. Have you guys forgotten that a freaking SNES game could cost up to £80 in the 90s? Accounted for inflation that's like £150!!
Wow I was planning on skipping this collection, but those gameplay tweaks just sold me on it! I never finished any FF pre VII, and the grind and random battles have put me off wanting to play the old games again up until this point. FFVI here we come!
Honestly, I never considered VR gaming to have mass appeal. I've tried it many times, it's nice, but not a must have. I'm perfectly happy looking at my OLED tv. I just don't see how it's going to gain the type of popularity it needs to get the proper software developed for it. I know that the immersion is higher with a VR set, but until they develop some superslim goggles or come up with VR contacts or something this thing is never going to take off. And it's not even about the price. I have five friends who are hard-core gamers, both PC and PS5. They spend insane amount of money upgrading their rigs. None of them have any interest in VR. My nephews the same thing. Big gamers already, tried and thought vr was cool, but nothing they'd shown any interest of saving up for. If you can't convince a 15 year old that says it all really.
@GorosBat I think a lot of people will rank their first experience with Yakuza very highly, since the games are kinda similar and will lose some of its freshness after a while. My first was Yakuza 3, and I absolute loved it!
Damn. That was throroughly impressive! Been a while since a FF trailer has shown so much promise. Fingers crossed this will be a much needed return to form!
Oh man, I'd love to try this! Only played a few minutes back in the PS1 days. Another series I would love to see is the Fear Effect games. They're probably a bit dated by now, but I'd love to play them regardless.
The PS fanboy in me wants to have all Ridge Racer, WipEout, Tekken, MGS and Tomb Raider ever released available on the same system.
I played the Witcher 3 for the for the first time last year, and I couldn't really get into tbh. I didn't quite see what the fuss was all about. However, I waited for the ps5 version of Cyberpunk, and I'm absolutely loving it. Maybe it's the games vastly different settings, or it could be the case that the Witcher 3 is showing its age in certain aspects.
Regardless, I'm super happy to see these sales figures for both games. Sure, Cyberpunk was a mess at launch, but they took their time and corrected it. Well done.
I was well aware about the free upgrade from the PS4 version, but still ended up buying the PS5 version lol... and I bought digitally. Convenience I suppose. 10$ more to the developer and that's perfectly fine. Besides, I'm 40 years old and grew buying SNES games for as much as $120, so tbh I'm shocked the price increase on AAA games didn't come sooner.
Jeeez, some of you guys in here are full of yourselves 😂 The Gta remaster could have been better, but the games are in no way broken. Did you guys even read the reviews? Glitches and unpolished is not the same as broken. Did some of the atmosphere get lost in the remaster? Yes. But does it play better? Totally.
@WallyWest Same here. Some questionable design choices and a few bugs, but it plays fine and I'm enjoying it. People really need to stop comparing it to Cyberpunk, that was a hot mess of completely different proportions.
@kingbreww Low standards, huh? So people are not allowed to enjoy the game even though it has a few bugs? Quit exaggerating- this not a Cyberpunk type of catastrophe. I'm guessing quite a few are playing and having a good time. I'm a few hours in on San Andreas and it's been a blast tbh.
@Crazybuttocks198 Same here. I'm about about 3 hours in, and I think San Andreas looks great. Some character models are a bit off, but for the rest it looks good - better than I expected tbh. They've done a great job with the lighting and HDR implementation.
@munstre To be fair, apart from being next to impossible on the PS4, I can see a lot of reasons why you wouldn't include flying mounts. It would take a whole different approach to level design and progression in the game. That being said, it would be sweet as hell if you would get access to flying mounts as a reward for finishing the game. I can imagine spending hours just flying around taking in the sights. Not to mention people would go crazy with the photo mode.
@fR_eeBritney Totally agree with you! I had the same experience with RE2Remake, I hadn't encountered Mr X in the original. Although I loved the game, he definitely outstayed his welcome. I enjoy taking my time in games, and soak up the atmosphere, so having Mr X constantly lurking took away some of my enjoyment. So how they did it with Nemesis in RE3Remake was perfect for me. Loved that game to bits! Happy to see more people give it props. Sure it was pretty short, but quality all around while it lasted, and that's what really matters.
