@JLPick you could pick up some limited edition toys and stuff nowadays and keep them in the boxes. I have a feeling lotr figures in boxes have potential future value and toy stores are giving them away at the moment...
I picked it up yesteday, tbh, im really liking it. The setting is fantastic, the graphics and ive had some cool firefights. Now if a multiplayer was to come out at a later date I would def enjoy that.
I only get time for maybe one or two hour long sessions per week on the ps4 these days so itll last me a few weeks.
The graphics are phenomenal! Ive never seen the like of so thats pretty exciting in itself, maybe theyre planning a stack of dlc? Just the norm now.
I watched this with bleary eyes this morning and thought i was watching the actual game lol. Well shows how far graphics are coming along for me to think that... Ill be getting Day 1 anyway.
Its all been about Tlou:r multiplayer since a certain editor recomended it on here, cant get enough of it. And Driveclub as it really is a great racer now, finally lol.
@get2sammyb your welcome. I had to do a bit of searching on the internet to find out as the game is finally in its good and proper state but my driving technique was killing it for me.
Ps4 reddit was really helpful. I did notice over there a new podcast called ' press square'. Thought it was you guys ...
@goonow yes this is the really annoyin part but i have some tips that have totally helped me just leave them for dust;
1. Approaching each corner you will see either flags or smoke and these will be the following colours;
Red - hard brake Yellow - medimum brake Green - minimal/no brake - take finger off accelerator and re apply to fly through
2. Feather the accelerator, its pressure sensitive so use it half way etc, not just full on or full off.
3. Brake straight line, off brake, turn, apex, at apex feather the accelerator back on up to full speed ( dont apex and then full on accelerate, you will spin and lose traction and speed )
4. Hang back on the 1st corner, they will take each other out and then doing the above within a few turns you will be top 3.
Hope this helps and pick cars with a good acceleration rating.
@Mrskinner yes! My pals are always saying its all about the pad, we all have switched back this gen from ms to sony and we all just love the pad again. We always called out ps controls when playing on the 360 as its just ingrained into us, sony caught most of us at the start of an industry...
@mitcHELLspawn im about 30 hours in and my main character elf is lvl 5, i like walking around a lot....(sometimes a little bit lost), going to be an epic adventure....
Such a great, epic, rpg early on in this generations cycle has made me really pleased to have taken the plunge with the ps4. Rounds my collection off nicely, well happy.
@FullbringIchigo ive read that psn has around 110 million users compared to MS Xbox lives 48 million so this could maybe have some bearing on the situation of Sony needing a bit longer possibly...
@4L0M read on here somewhere I think to activate the ps4 in settings as your primary ps4 and shold work, don't know as I don't buy digital really but I have trine digital and its working fine even when Im not connected to psn.
Just out of curiosity a 3rd party site with simply the online status for the Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo online services wIth maybe the companies latest service status quote would get a lot of hits. Ive googled before why I couldn't play cod on my 360 and ended up on an obscure forum looking at some guys latest post a few mins prior saying how he couldn't connect in Canada or somewhere, now a one stop for a quick service update would be sweet.
This site is very unque, the layout is bang on and the content and especially the user contribution, very very good. Dont sell out too soon, im sure your going to get offers!
Keep up the ethos in 2015, you have that little something, i think the active contribution in the comments section by the writers sets you apart and this i can imagine is somewhat of a life than maybe just a job.
2015 has some great games coming to Playstation, gonna be a good one!
Seems like zipper interactive got some tough breaKS with sales of MAG And socom 4 coming out when the psn was totally offline, and well unit 13 was on vita... shame, I could do with a socom on that ps4, would feel, familiar...
Bit of cod on xmas eve, fifa 15 and maybe a little bit of da:i later.
Recently bought a bravia led lcd and tweaked all the settings so picture is vivid and not all washed out like the factory presets. Motion Blur on lcd led is not great, wish I knew this a bit before. Still rocks though.
Gta for xmas and a new ds4 hopefully as the dreaded rot on one of the original pads is shocking ( will be replacing with the xbox ome sticks as perfect fit and the replacement ds4 sticks just do it again ) just needed two pads in use before tinkering with this one.
@FullbringIchigo see if you can get 'protect my PS4' off the Sony store website, it was£49 for 2 years here in UK, worth a look as console goes for £ 309 cheapest here! Makes sense if you can do it.
@FullbringIchigo I have tlou:r but i cant remember it doing that, ill fire it up later and see, i must of been so engrossed.
Yes it worries me a lot as the Ps4 is part of my daily life and when it went back for nearly 2 weeks man was I lost. Ive taken put 2 year ps4 protect with sony but hope i never need it.
I read somewhere that it may just be developer coding but i havent the knowledge to say that myself, just seems the really intense graphical games work the system more. Also i think the newer produced ps4 batches are a bit quieter by all accounts, mine was launch but im not sure if they replaced or repaired it as my records of serial numbers got mislaid.
I have the console vertical as it seemed more air would get around it where mine is positioned. Who knows? Apparently also it is the noisier of all the next gen consoles but again i dont have that experience myself, jut what ive read ( but it certainly is the beast of them all ).
@Dohv I think if you enjoyed Skyrim your going to be very happy playing dragon age inquisition, its high fantasy epic and graphically, well wait and see, best choice for your money out there imo.
It has its differences but once you embrace it, you really get into it. Im brushing up on the dragon age lore as never played the previous games so you can see it gets it hooks in you...
@BetweenTheTrees so you traded the vita for PSTV and then got a vita again? Good call, vita is a great piece of Sony hardware. What model? The slim was out when we got ours but after a little research I opted for the original Wi-Fi model with the gorgeous OLED screen.
DA:I, absolutely absorbed with this game. Graphics are wonderful but boy does it work the ps4, so noisy constantly.
On a sort of related issue re noisy ps4 ive already had one replacement console and got an email from Sony yesterday about 'protect your PS4'. Well here in UK it was a special price of £49 instead of £70 for that day so I figured 2 years of peace of mind was value for money. Anyone else took Sony up on this one?
@Rogue76 brilliant, my kid loves PlayStation so much (like his dad). He really likes Lego marvel and other Lego games. I think he will be OK with infinity then if yours is OK at it. I saw the Venom character, looks sweet.
I have let my kids play ps4 and he has a vita (which we share) since they could which was probably around 2 years old I reckon. As a parent I have no issues with this and I think it has actually helped with counting, puzzle/problem solving etc. However older generation ( grandparents) are totally against it, my argument is that its technology and like it or not that is the world we live in. Do you get objections like this? Just curious...
Just put Diablo 3 on, this is a game which when I first purchased left me a bit under-whelmed but the more I play it the more I get it. I like its old fashioned values. Its quality.
Great news for me, my ps4 faceplate came back from sony support really scratched ( in a circular pattern from which i guess it was polished mechanically but failled ) so i will deff get one. Think 'The Order' one appeals to me
I played it last night and still have issues connecting to other players, takes an age when it works, no problems like this with any other game online and on a decent fibre optic connection. So I basically do not understand.....
@jgrangervikings1 same, had people at work looking at the vita on my lunch break and they were very impressed, one thought it was a psp though. One of the guys is getting a ps4 this week and is now toying with the idea of the vita after i explained how it links up with the ps4. I must admit its tough marketing sony products on my lunch break though....

@teknium_ im pretty much the same, a game i absolutely love and still enjoy is Thief on ps4 and that was panned!
Maybe its all subjective any how, how can one person quantify anyones taste? As long as a games not fundamentally broken there will be fans of it.

Sony is a unique company for sure, you just never know what they're going to do next with any branch of the company, its actually hilarious.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This... Christmas?
@3Above thats a shame, Socom games were a big deal, ill read into what happened
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This... Christmas?
@Ps4all I didn't know zipper made both those games, makes sense. MAG must of slipped my radar, Im really curious about that one...thanks
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This... Christmas?
@get2sammyb your actually spot on there, I think thats a good enough reason to have another crack at tlou multiplayer:-)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This... Christmas?
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi oh ive had games just like that, thanks for the heads up
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This... Christmas?
@Ps4all it reminded me of socom from what ive seen. I liked socom, wonder if that will ever grace the ps4?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This... Christmas?
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi bad mechanics? Or just poor all round? Resistance, ill take a look, thanks.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This... Christmas?
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi kz mercenary is a great game! Dont suppose you've played unit 13? It looks okay, wondering if worth a look?

@BetweenTheTrees been and done things like that myself, well I reckon PSTV will hopefully have some use for you, fairplay for taking a punt at it.
I think the screen difference will probably be minimal but I haven't owned an OLED and was curious. Saw LG advertising OLED TV's here in UK.
Got a good deal? Hope vita has a good xmas, more games needed for it!
