Remember The Elder Scrolls Online's PlayStation 4 port? Yeah, neither did we, until we spotted this recent Bethesda blog post which briefly discusses the subject. Apparently, the title is coming along nicely, but will still need some more time in order to be properly polished.
"We have been (and will continue to be) steadily working on the Xbox One and PS4 versions of The Elder Scrolls Online," the game's director Matt Firor said. "They are playable and fun right now, but there's still some work to do before we can set an official launch date.
"It's also important to note that the Xbox One and PS4 versions of The Elder Scrolls Online are not just ports of the PC/Mac game," he continued. "We have completely replaced the PC user interface with a console-specific UI designed from the ground-up with a controller and a living room play experience in mind."

@Swiket I'm sure there's /someone/ out there who was looking forward to this?
Right guys? Right? Ahem
Its had mixed reviews, they've been silent since the delay, it costs £9 a month to play, PC players can port their characters over. It all stinks a bit. I was initially excited but now I'm not so sure. I think the PC players being able to port their characters over is the worst thing really.
@k_andersen I noticed some sandyland shops stopped selling GTA V, 1 rule for Film violence, another rule for Video Game Violence.
@Bad-MuthaAdebis Apparently around 41,000 people signed a petition to get it gone. The shops that have stopped selling it (Target/Kmart) are basically supermarkets, so it's not a huge deal. If they can convince the big game retailers to stop selling it, that'd be something.
But back on topic - I'll be interested to see how ESO does. I've never been a huge fan of the concept myself, but I'm still slightly curious.
Yeah take your time, tired of hearing about all of these broken games.
@k_andersen 41,000 is just a large bandwagon, considering its the biggest selling video game of all time. Anyway, yeah, I've watched a couple of the big battles involving tons of people in ESO, it looks pretty amazing, I do hope it turns out well, not massively impressed with the sub's though.
Something tells me that the game will need a decent overhaul of it's to be successful. At this point, I see a lot of people being interested, but that subscription fee, for example, is a pretty big obstacle for most.
Fair enough when you're Final Fantasy XIV and you've done well critically and commercially, but subscribing to reportedly mediocre MMOs? We'll see.
I rather have that they work on a new elders scrolls title, as successor to Skyrim instead of porting the online version to PS4. I'm sure ESO is fun but I simply dislike all subscription based games.
This just doesn't look appealing after having played so much FFXIV:ARR. Everything I hear about ESO just makes me less and less interested.
I forgot this was a thing.
I agree with Swinkel, I loved Skyrim and the only reason I put it down was for the long load times on the PS3 which in some buildings can take about 5 mins to get out of a building, I'm not a big MMO fan myself but would much prefer a sequel to Skyrim on the PS4 or even a PS4 port of Skyrim would be cool
@chris730920 @Swinkel Don't worry, there will definitely be an Elder Scrolls VI, but it'll be a few years before Bethesda reveal it yet.
It is a little bit strange they haven't ported Skyrim, though. You'd think that was an obvious one.
@chris730920 Second that. I want a PS4 port of Skyrim as well...
Its weird, i have it on pc and stopped playing primarily due to the game just feeling like it was built for a controller. Then theres the sub fee. Dont get me wrong when it comes to mmos im about as strongly against microtransactions as everybody, and have no issues paying a sub fee but for the game i saw? Im good. It feels like it should be buy to play.
Wasn't it gonna be cheap for people who already bought the PC version? If that's still the case then yeah I'll buy it.
I didn't forget! i've been asking about this game for months. finally some news at least.
When they say its playable atm, they mean you take 5 steps and it freezes right??
Who cares?😛 gimme Fallout 4. I seriously can't believe the TES and KOTOR games out now are mmo's. Yuck
Was one of the games that had me stoked about getting a ps4 but that time has gone
Can't wait for it, to move over my char from PC!
