@Milktastrophe Yeah I was kinda hoping that only meant 3rd party stuff leaving and newer titles (both 1st and 3rd) regularly added.
As if first party cycles out it really reduces the value as have to rush to complete them before they leave, which means a few good months with a number of games I like I'd likely not get to play them all before they left...
Will the games stay on the service though, or will it be like Now where they disappear after a few months?
If they'd said we're adding all first party games over 12/18 months old permanently then it would have been a much bigger deal - guess we'll see once it launches...
@Would_you_kindly I think you're right - I didn't remember GT Sport having microtransactions.
Then I searched on Bing (default work one lol) for "GT Sport microtransactions" and the highlighted box is "developer confirms it won't have them" and the first organic result is "Microtransactions have arrived in GT Sport" lol.
Seems they brought them in 1 year after launch, so they got the good press (no MTX) before quietly adding them.
Makes me think definitely the "no cheating" thing isn't about multiplayer but about protecting their microtransactions...
@thefourfoldroot Lol yeah I understand if it affects multiplayer, otherwise it's kinda "who cares" - and in some ways if you spend ages coding the best car in the game, isn't it better that more people get to experience it rather than most never unlocking it?
I think I just associate GT with being the earliest save game hack I ever used - had my PS1 before a PC (years later tweaking Championship Manager saves to make my local team not absolutely suck lol).
Didn't even realise you could do save game hacking on the later consoles so surprised they've even flagged this as a reason - I doubt I could be bothered these days, generally happy to grind racing games if the AI is good enough
Why are they so worried if you manipulate the save data?
My memories of GT1 on PS1 are getting a memory card cheat so I could unlock all the cars lol - I was young and impatient, admittedly I'd probably not bother now given most racing games give you a ton of cars anyway.
But seems odd - unless they're going to be using micro-transactions or challenges to get the best / rarest cars?
Definitely legitimate even if some placeholders don't ever get used / were cancelled / get renamed.
Jez Corden at WindowsCentral is very close to Microsoft insiders and they confirmed Oxide and a few other project codenames from this leak - and Oxide hasn't ever been mentioned before:
@wiiware Titanfall 3 is actually Apex Legends according to the metadata.
As @ShogunRok says, the leak is definitely real from GeForce Now, it's more whether some placeholders are jokes / cancelled projects, project names or registered by someone incorrectly
@Olmaz @Grumblevolcano Titanfall 3 according to someone who's looked at the metadata appears to just be Apex Legends I'm afraid.
Of course, the placeholder name that was used does suggest originally they were thinking of doing a third, before the Apex idea came along...
This leak does seem legit, in that you can browse the GeForce NOW database yourself and it seems to just mine Steam / Epic for its "catalogue" so likely shows placeholder games.
That's why so many are using code names or just random placeholder names - and many will be games that got cancelled years ago (Scalebound for example).
It does appear to be from Nvidia, and it got the right placeholder names for Xbox GS at least - Woodsman (Forza), Typhoon (Contraband) and Holland (new Fable)
@Ralizah Potentially - seems last gen may have been ditched last year. Although still might mean it's had an impact on design till then, so will wait for in depth previews before making my mind up lol
@sanderson72 Found news (DualShockers editor reports it was revealed in 2020) that Project EVE appears to be PC / PS5 / XSX / XSS now, looks like they ditched the past gen versions.
I remembered it being announced for PS4 / XO and was watching thinking I've no idea how they'd run it!
And yeah was more the graphics than actual level design I guess - was wondering how they'd get the base last gen consoles to run anything near those graphics
@Pusher2021 I really can't wait to see the movement in it - I love the idea of being Wolverine, but my favourite part of Spider Man is the movement, the swinging from building to building and crossing Manhattan so quickly.
Interested to see how they adapt to Wolverine's strengths while not slowing the game down too much (as Insomniac generally have a pretty fast pace to their games) - I'm guessing it'll be open world again and maybe use vehicles?
@sonicmeerkat @Ralizah As mentioned by @sanderson72, Project EVE is supposed to be coming to PS4 too (as well as XO, PC, XS etc.).
I wonder if they've either dropped the last gen versions (which I doubt) - otherwise, did it look a bit too good?
Going over it again, there's a few QTE which seem to almost be like rendered cutscenes (as was quite a bit of it) - although saying that FF7 Remake / Detroit: Become Human shows how pre-rendered stuff can look awesome on the last gen.
Will be interested to see extended gameplay trailers to see how it looks in general - and see what the PS4 version looks like...
@twitchtvpat I don't want one at the moment, not with this kind of crap going on - and particularly going to give it some time to see how much difference the cheaper heatsink makes.
But that's your answer? Everyone has to get a PS5 in the next 6 months in order to not get rinsed by Sony?
Wow I can see why it's called Dual Entitlement - the entitled aren't the ones wanting stuff free or a cheap upgrade path, it's the elitist Sony fanboys who would rather look down on everyone than dare to admit Sony has screwed this one up
@Matthewnh Wow everyone should consider themselves lucky to have a PS5, and it's such a privilege that they must give Sony the rest of their money too?
How about these aren't some random indie software developers - they're the makers of that very console, who will now earn lots of money from you buying games on it for the next 5 years or more.
The fact you can't upgrade from the PS4 to PS5 version, unless you buy the £80 version (or more) on the off chance you do get a PS5 later is pathetic.
And that's before even considering the argument that paying extra to play a PS4 game on PS5 with extra resolution / refresh rate (free on PC games and most Xbox) and to use the PS5 features you've already paid hundreds for...
Sony don't need to be rinsing both their new console owners (who should be rewarded) or their huge PS4 base (who they should be encouraging to upgrade) like this...
@twitchtvpat There's no way to upgrade the PS4 version to PS5, they specifically say that on the blog post.
So if you don't have a PS5 yet and want to play this game on your PS4, you either have to pay way more, or buy it again once you get the PS5.
So it's not even getting a free upgrade (which I'd argue is justifiable given the money PS5 owners have already given Sony), it's the fact you can't get the upgrade without major cost
No upgrade path from the PS4 version except buying the expensive editions is pure price gouging, particularly when you know they'll release one 6 months after launch after they've got everyone they can.
I thought Sony wanted to convert that big PS4 base to PS5?
This kind of move doesn't help, given you have to pay a premium to play the version that takes advantage of the features of your expensive PS5, despite it being from the maker of it...
@twitchtvpat It's a bad look early in the generation, given they don't have to support PS4 much longer so the problem would go away.
And it offers an enticement for PS4 owners to get a PS5 - they'd be able to play better versions of their games for no additional cost.
But with the extra costs for upgrading (and even worse, no upgrade path at all here) then there's way more cost to think of when trying to convert that huge PS4 base to PS5.
And that's what Sony really wants - to get the huge PS4 user base moved over. But crap like this early in the generation really doesn't help
It seems a bit tight of Sony to charge ten quid extra when you've just spend hundreds on their new console (on which they'll get a cut of every new game you buy) - it's not like a 3rd party publisher (many who are doing upgrades for free) who don't get a benefit from you now being a PS5 owner.
And the lack of upgrade path atm is a joke - trying to force people who can't get a PS5 to either wait or buy the expensive editions...
Also, the whole "why would the developers work for free?" argument - they aren't just developers, they're Sony.
That shiny £450 console should be enough to play the best versions of their games - getting stiffed for an extra tenner on every game just to play the best version (when you've already given Sony a lot of money for the PS5 itself) is why I'm holding off on PS5 for now and sticking with my PS4
They definitely need to add a PS4 to PS5 upgrade path in future, even if they do charge a bit for it.
Otherwise why would PS4 players buy a PS5 in a year or so, given they may have to re-buy this and potentially GoW and GT? That's a hefty premium on top of the new console!
I don't mind retrying a boss fight a few times to figure out how they move, what their "tells" are and what I might need to fight them - but when my brother can beat them in a few goes and I'm still failing after 20, it goes way beyond "the game is designed this way".
Yes I might be lacking in skill and it might be I didn't have a console as young as my younger siblings (who seem to have ninja reflexes) or it might be I'm on the spectrum - but I shouldn't be banned from enjoying the story and game, surely?
The developer could develop for harder difficulties and lock certain trophies to those, then tweak sliders for the lower difficulties after completing the build, or do like Ghost of Tsushima and add an accessibility option which made the timings more forgiving.
I'm not going to pay £70 for a game I can't even get past the first few levels of - and I'm sure many others feel the same.
Developers who refuse to even consider accessibility are living in the dark ages in my opinion, and players who are "I'm alright Jack" not wanting any leeway given just need to grow up and realise not everyone has the time or skill needed, but still might wish to enjoy these games...

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives Not Coming to PS Plus at Launch
Big question is whether once they do reach the service, will they stay?
As if they only join for 3 months each it then it sucks a bit as I often have a few games on the go at once...

For me anyway

Re: Rumour: Gigantic GeForce Leak Goes Nuclear, Hints at All Kinds of Unannounced Games, PS5 Titles Linked to PC
@Master_Shake Think they're reserved names so it could be years and years before a game fills the slot, or never in the case of cancelled projects.
So yes some might be ones fans somehow registered, or a publisher pre-registering names way out
Re: Rumour: Gigantic GeForce Leak Goes Nuclear, Hints at All Kinds of Unannounced Games, PS5 Titles Linked to PC
@Nepp67 It would be a placeholder name - they're updated before release.
So they may have reserved Minster Hunter say 4 to 6 then used them up with each release
