Re: PS5 Fans Divided on PlayStation Portal Handheld

TheElectroFunky

In our household one or two of these will actually be of a great help, so we shall be making sure to pick them up on release no doubt.

I understand the desire for it to also stream game collections from Plus etc, but that in its current form would require a PS5 to stream the game and control inputs from the cloud, then to Portal. In which case it’ll just not be a pleasant experience for many lag wise.

However, if in the future it could be adapted to stream direct from the Plus collection, that would be of benefit to many I imagine.

I did use the Vita for exactly this, streaming from my PS4 in bed, or when the main TV was being used etc. So this will be exactly what I’ve wanted.

Also my daughter has a PS5 in her bedroom, but she only stays with me at weekends, and then not every weekend.

So it means she would be able to remote in to her PS5 from her mothers home.

I know it’s not for everyone, but I feel just like PSVR2, those who feel it helps them or brings something new for them, will really latch on to it.

It’s what I’ve been wanting since the PS5 release for example. Yet to many it shall be useless. It’s basically the Marmite/Vegemite of the PlayStation ecosystem.

Plus, for those who are married it could be the first time they’ve been satisfied in bed in years.

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Could Be Close to 100GB in Size

TheElectroFunky

@Loamy I’m just really glad we’ve all had such a great mass debate on the subject of storage. It’s about time the subject was really given the solid seriousness it needed to be pumped with online.

It’s just usually all these conversations just usually turn to childish moments or insults, so it’s nice to see we’ve raised a firm bar against that. It’s good to know people who visit the site will have a firm impression of how adult we can all be.

I’ll see myself out

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Could Be Close to 100GB in Size

TheElectroFunky

@Loamy What can I say, it’s one of my many talents, talking about storage and people just drop clothes to the floor. It’s a rather niche talent, like how The Flash can travel at the speed of light without his flesh ripping off and I’m supposed to just sit there and ignore it.

Anyway, I digress, oh my gosh I just realised my mind went from storage to Flash, as in flash storage!

I should not think out loud.

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Could Be Close to 100GB in Size

TheElectroFunky

@GamingFan4Lyf You hit the nail on the head with this. People talked a lot during the pre release of PS5 about the compression technology.

However, they sort of forgot that it’s also the case consumers desire for “more” is directly competing with it. Textures, audio, longer gameplay etc. It’s all desired to be more than, not equal to last generation.

So whilst people may not realise, this may have been 150 or more GB if released without compression, potentially a lot more.

All people need to do is take a look at a crappy compression, but very common one, JPEG. When first released it seemed an amazing trade off, tiny files and still a wonderful image.

Yet now, we have much more megapixel cameras, and thus even a JPEG can reach 10 times or more the size of what the average one used to be.

It’s just nice to see someone acknowledge that for better or worse, the fact remains despite compression, we all desire more, so compressed or not … eventually it’ll increase.

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Could Be Close to 100GB in Size

TheElectroFunky

@Loamy 😂 I used to take the approach of installing all I can, but then I had the same problem I had when I had GamePass, I didn’t end up playing anything. It must be the opposite of ADHD, but when I have too much choice I do nothing. Same with Netflix, I’ve had it for years and maybe watched 5-10 things on it.

Wish I could install and play more, but I’d just look at the tiles and sigh. 😂

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Could Be Close to 100GB in Size

TheElectroFunky

Seems reasonable, sort of expected really. On our two consoles, we only tend to have 2-3 games on there at any one point, usually a single player and a multiplayer. So it should be just fine. I’m not one to hop onto loads of different games, if it doesn’t grab me enough to stay on the hard drive it goes.

I play the same way I played with the older consoles such as N64, PS1 etc, one game, at a time.

Did question getting more storage, but for the cost it seems pointless in my user case.

I understand that’s not how many others play or have too many in the household to juggle that though. So yeah, I guess each to their own.

But for me 100GB for one game is fine.

Re: Lara Croft Joins Call of Duty Next Month, 21 Savage and Mace Too

TheElectroFunky

I’ll probably pick this up, be nice to represent my long love of the Tomb Raider franchise since childhood, despite its flaws.

Same with Fortnite, I tend to pick up a few skins a year that speak to something I’ve held close gaming wise over the years.

Also can’t wait for the next CoD, me and the missus actually make a good team in Warzone, much to the surprise of both of us, it’s sort of become a weekly ritual.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PlayStation Portal?

TheElectroFunky

I’ll certainly be picking it up, useful in cases where I used to use the Vita, like when the main TV is being used or in bed etc.

Seems reasonable enough price too, so that’s fine.

Understand why it won’t work for all though. If I lived alone I wouldn’t bother.

Re: Horizon Vocalist Receives Abuse Over the Use of Her Voice

TheElectroFunky

@Kelrics90 So you don’t sympathise with someone receiving hate because they are more well known than you or I?

Since when did hate and death threats become fine if you’re good at what you do?

I mean a weatherman is pretty well known for being on TV as a weatherman, why would that then mean that there’s no sympathy to be had because they’re receiving hatred or threats?

Thankfully the law doesn’t work the way your mind does when reporting such issues.

Re: Horizon Vocalist Receives Abuse Over the Use of Her Voice

TheElectroFunky

@TechaNinja So the idea that someone in this day and age is homophobic, is that unbelievable we need proof that someone has received homophobic hatred?

I mean it doesn’t exactly benefit this voice actress to raise this for no reason at all, it doesn’t help them to gain work.

I’ve received hatred online over the years for the most benign of reasons, hatred really is everywhere when it’s just a few thumb taps away.

I mean gosh, even back in college I got told by two females of a certain religious belief I’d die early and spend my life in hell for being Bi. And that was before social media was a thing really.

So to imagine that mentality now has easier routes to insult or express hatred, it’s disheartening to say the least.

For reference the two people who pushed the hatred are now lesbians, odd how life turns out.

And for reference this is only one of three times I’ve mentioned I’m Bi online. So it’s not like I’m thrusting it anyone’s face, in fact most assume I’m straight now, as I’m married to a woman with a child.

I can tell you now, the treatment I get as an assumed straight, white and successful male is a lot different to the treatment I got trying to date men.

So yeah, to summarise it’s not hard to think that treatment I witnessed would transfer to online. It’s easy to insult someone online and leave.

Re: Don't Panic, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Won't Require a Phone Number on PS5, PS4

TheElectroFunky

@Flaming_Kaiser I’m not providing all my data, I’m providing a number that I have done for a while to them now, and seen no scam messages, no alerts, nothing. They don’t even sell my number, I know, because I used to work for a mobile company here in the UK. So I’m well aware of who you should and shouldn’t give your number to. And who are known to sell them.

But that aside, even selling my number isn’t mine as such, I can change my number freely if I so desire and has little to no impact on my life.

Companies like Meta, having your number through WhatsApp, and clearly scanning messages or you wouldn’t have recommended ads for many an item you’ve WhatsApp talked about but never searched, things like that, that’s a problem. (Hence why I don’t use WhatsApp).

But a publisher and developer who’s had my number for years since I registered for one game or another on PC, and nothing has come of it, no, not worried about that.

I’m far more concerned with the wife having an Alexa, and privacy elsewhere to concern myself with if a publisher wants to one bell me.

But it’s each to their own, I’ve just worked in a job where I now know it’s more likely the delivery company you use, the TV company you use and so on is to sell your number than a publisher worth billions and has bigger fish to fry.

For example, here in the UK it’s been found many mobile companies sell your number, or (pass it on to interested but safe parties) as they say. So even having a mobile number isn’t private. It’s already changed hands more than you know.

So I just don’t see Activision having my number a problem. I’ve never had spam from them, or Microsoft, or come to think of it any company most people fear having their number.

Just Eat, Uber Meta and so forth on the other hand, completely different story.

Like when I entered my number for a delivery of a package, and sure enough, a fake DHL knew the exact time my order was due and so forth, yet without DHL or the company I bought off selling my number, that wouldn’t have been possible.

Again, everyone is scared of something, privacy for the most part when it comes to an interchangeable number doesn’t worry me as much as it may you.

Re: Don't Panic, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Won't Require a Phone Number on PS5, PS4

TheElectroFunky

Couldn’t care less if it requires a phone number, I’m happy to provide one on PC or console if it helps prevent duplicate accounts by hackers etc.

Why on earth people mind giving them their number, yet will give it to lord knows who else is beyond me.

My ex writing my number on a bathroom stall as a teenager would do more damage to my phone privacy than Activision using it for two factor authenticity.

Anyway, just my two pence. So either way I’m happy.

Re: PSVR2 Hands-On Previews Praise Hardware and Games in Glowing Write-Ups

TheElectroFunky

@Would_you_kindly I wouldn’t worry about keeping the conversation on track buddy, that’s the admins job, not yours.

That and I’d like to add I believe questioning the price does factor into the conversation for this and all products. After all, if people can’t afford or won’t pay £70 for games, then they probably won’t want to pay X amount so a small number of games can be played on a 4K TV strapped to your head.

Oh, and, let’s not forget someone else in this thread is saying they don’t care for 4K, yet can’t wait for this VR, when one of the major selling points for this headset is the 4K image produced.

Don’t listen to the elitists who have a Capital One card credit limit more than yours, you do you mate.

VR isn’t the future, after Covid showed us how much people actually want to socialise, less socialising in the real world due to a TV on your head isn’t the future.

If it is, the future is truly depressing.

Re: What Time Is the Next State of Play Livestream?

TheElectroFunky

I’ll make sure to catch up on the news for it online through here at some point. I’m assuming the VR aspects will just be “Hi, this is a VR headset, it’s currently the best, until it’s not and another company makes an improvement, here are some games that don’t benefit the 2D rendering of your TV to show you how uninspired our marketing is”

Oh and here are some Indie titles you get on a competitors service too.

I’m intrigued about VR, but after using various iterations of it before, I’m not exactly sold on buying all this extra equipment for what is to me, not the future of gaming.

I don’t wish to be in a room on my own feeling like I’m in a basement closed off from the people on the sofa. It’s not how our family games or my friends.

So, intrigued happy to give it all a try, but so far not remotely peaked in excitement. As another way for people to strap a screen that close to their eyes and to become even more solitary doesn’t spark the interest of myself or my child and so forth.

So, I’ll pop by here later and you can provide the notes and we shall see!

Re: Reaction: Publishers Are Getting Worse at Nintendo Direct-Style Livestreams

TheElectroFunky

I used to be a huge fan of gaming culture, the magazines, the journalism, the E3 event and so forth. Yet now, being older and likely just more jaded and aware of the world and corporations … I just don’t find it remotely appealing anymore.

I don’t “stan” a particular company or console, I don’t subscribe to magazines, even if E3 were around, it is just what it always has been, a corporate enterprise holding an event for other corporate enterprises to then show (often misleading) representations of their wares.

A moment on this and all the sister sites tells me the majority I need to know about all upcoming releases and console news. I don’t need or desire to sit through over an hour on a Friday evening of trailers.

I personally find my excitement for the gaming landscape as a whole is mostly faded, the games themselves excite me now. I no longer feel it necessary to watch or read of a rep for a company discussing said game.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve just realised that to me personally what any of these presenters, company reps, or companies themselves say is of no importance.

Because no matter what they show, I’ll still play what me and my family and friends find ourselves drawn to, and no matter how big the world, how amazing the graphics, how new of an engine, it’s still just another game desperately hiring all the shills it can to get my attention and wallet.

If I don’t expose myself to that stuff, it leaves me able to more freely make choices based on logic rather than excitement and fanfare.

Re: Microsoft, Sony Signed Agreement to Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for 'Several More Years' Beyond Current Contract

TheElectroFunky

@SolaceCreed Oh I didn’t mention Microsoft buying Sony. Sorry if you’re mistaken. And I’m aware of the Japanese law, as many here don’t stop repeating sound bites they know about Japan. They never keep mentioning the cultures obsession with young school girls in skirts though. Haha.

I think the sentence that I caused confusion with is when I mentioned them taking over Sony. I meant taking over as in beating them so to speak with sales figures and install base in all markets.

Sorry for any confusion!

Re: Microsoft, Sony Signed Agreement to Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for 'Several More Years' Beyond Current Contract

TheElectroFunky

I’ll say what I did over on the Xbox sister site:

Microsoft isn’t going to say what will happen in years regarding CoD’s placement on platforms, even if they legally could (like all of us I haven’t read the paperwork on what they legally can say until the deal is completed).

The reason they won’t say what will happen in years to come, is simply they don’t know.

Because it’s either going to be:

A) Microsoft gains enough of an install base, so Xcloud, consoles, etc. to make it worthwhile losing out on micro transactions and purchases on Sony’s platform. Thus they take it from said platform and gain CoD player base with no loss.

Or

B) They struggle to keep up with the markets Sony wins them in, and they keep it multi platform, looking both consumer friendly and keeping all the profits.

Either way, by not saying what they might wish to happen, they get to say they meant it all along and look rosy either way.

Either they take over Sony and have a franchise ready to go to seal the deal, or they don’t and milk profits from their competitions install base either way.

Like how Sony will now make money off every Xbox season Pass of Destiny that’s purchased. Yet so will Xbox.

Either way Microsoft win. Just like either way with Destiny Sony wins.

Except financially, CoD is historically a lot larger of a win. Especially when including Warzone transactions.

Re: UK Government Investigating Xbox's Activision Buyout Further

TheElectroFunky

@Dr_Luigi completely agreed. Despite using them and finding them good for my personal benefit, I’m not a fan of streaming services. I am fascinated with how it shall all go, from the music industry, film to gaming. It’s all interesting to me, like right now Microsoft gives me value for money, but that’s due to my essentially evading their actual £11.99 a month.

Once I’d have to pay that a month, it suddenly competes with my wallet and time with the likes of Disney Plus, Apple TV, Netflix etc.

That’s going to be a hard sell on me personally. I need family plans like Apples for things. With everything. Well, want not need, you know what I mean haha.

Re: UK Government Investigating Xbox's Activision Buyout Further

TheElectroFunky

@Dr_Luigi The thing is though, most people don’t pay the full price for GamePass, when you keep stating that if x number of people pay monthly for the service, Microsoft make y. That isn’t the case.

For example, just the people I work with who all but one have an Xbox S as a secondary to their PlayStation, they all do what I do, go on sites like Gamvio and purchase a month of GamePass Ultimate for £1.30 or thereabouts.

Most people I see on forums who I have spoken to do the same, the four staff in my local Game Store also do similar.

So until Microsoft stop things like that being possible, their service will never make the money they wish.

As it’s £11.99 a month here in the UK, yet I haven’t met a person in the UK that pays that price a month. Not even close, like I’ve stated, I pay less than 10% of that.

Re: Train Sim World 3 Powers Up PS5, PS4 with 174 Trophies, More Attainable Platinum

TheElectroFunky

@nessisonett Excellently put! Read your comments for a couple of years on here (as another user), and always admire your eloquence.

Anyway, must shoot, I’ve got a meal being delivered by someone likely to have multiple jobs all on minimum wage. Who has to deal with scum punishing them for not wearing a suit and ***** over a million pound bonus.

At this point I’m willing to tip them my approaching council tax, energy payments and so on, as it’s apparently all being spent on polluting the sea and fancy bonuses anyway.

F-ing democracy my arse.

Anyway, food! Ta-ra for now duck!

Re: PS5 Price Increase Has Some Japanese Players Praying for PC Port of Final Fantasy 16

TheElectroFunky

So, I’m confused.

We’ve had articles of Japanese gamers being disappointed with the size of the PS5, with many stating it’s due to the large size of the unit, against their small living arrangements.

Along with a desire for portable, blah blah Japan is a unique market and completely into marrying Tamagotchis, I get it.

Then, we have another article like this claiming because of one game, one, people are going to build or buy a more expensive PC instead of getting a PS5.

I mean they do know some gaming rigs like my old one are quite a bit larger than a PS5. Then you need a desk and so on if you don’t want the sofa situation and a PC etc.

I’m just so confused! So they don’t want Switch like portability, because of Final Fantasy, what they want is a massive gaming rig and their mothers credit card.

Re: Amazon Acquisition of EA Up in the Air with Conflicting Reports

TheElectroFunky

@IonMagi I see you a lot trying to sell the benefits of Xbox.

Here, allow me to help seeing as I own both.

I just bought a key for Witch Queen Destiny 2 DLC, it’s a Turkish key and activated it on my UK Xbox account within seconds.

It cost me £6. Not the £19.99 sale price it is currently.

It’s also £19.99 on PlayStation right now, yet there’s no easy way for many people to locate and purchase these questionable keys online.

You know, like how we all know many don’t actually pay for Game Pass, they pay for a key off a infamous Saudi website and enter it instead for say £1 a month etc.

Now, just there I’ve just advertised Xbox better than I’ve seen you ever do.

Voice assistance doesn’t sell consoles en masse. There’s nothing to boast about having your data tracked even further by the worlds largest shopping company that wants to model your behaviour profile.

However, tell people having an Xbox saves them a f-ton of money, that will get you further.

But then one thing my Turkish keys won’t get me, Sony exclusives.

Well, unless I get the Steam key from a Turkish seller when they inevitably come to PC etc. but that’s a whole different story.

Anyway, enjoy your console/s of choice and try not to work too hard on selling for a company that ain’t paying your energy and grocery bill. They won’t attend your funeral, so don’t waste the years you have defending them like a relative.

Re: Rumour: Amazon to Announce Acquisition of EA Later Today

TheElectroFunky

Well, and there was I genuinely sitting firmly on the “EA couldn’t get worse if they tried” bandwagon.

Then I read this article.

I once worked for Amazon, the fact I’ll pay more before using them says all there is to say about the company really. So good luck to EA, you’re made for one another.

Re: Here's Everything Included in the PS5 DualSense Edge Controller Package

TheElectroFunky

These “pro” controllers are a wonderful idea, as in having all those options at your fingertips for various competitive games.

However, I’ll say what both myself and friends have said for a while, these controllers really should be the default in high end versions of the consoles to begin with.

This controller, thrown in with the disc PS5 for example, with its new price tag would be a lot more compelling to people like I who play a lot of FPS twitch shooters.

And of course, I’m aware it all costs more to manufacture, develop and research, but we all know they make their money from micro transactions of mainly third party games nowadays, with a sprinkling of their own single player experiences.

They aren’t making the majority, or even a considerably large enough sum from sat extra controllers purchased. Or at least one would imagine to be the case.

But hey, what the hell do I know, it’s just I’m not asking for something for nothing, its a really expensive bit of kit to play what my father used to call “kids games”. Haha.

I have a PS5, but it would have been great to see Sony really give people a reason to want one for any other reason than FOMO.

It’s just a bit odd, I think looking back I would have just gone the Green side this generation, and picked up Sony exclusives at the end of the generation with a cheap second hand unit.

I don’t know how others feel, but to be a lifelong fan of Sony, and now to look at their controller and think “Great, that’s likely the price of a discount Series S”, it’s just not really a great feeling.

Sorry to ramble, I’m just feeling a bit ***** on if I’m being honest. Like yesterday it’s price rises to get said console, next day it’s look at this new shiny thing we made in a factory with questionable staff welfare who can’t afford one themselves!

Ah well, consumerism aye!

PS: Both my daughters controller for the PS5, and my partners have both just started to get drift that seems to be getting quite bad.

So yeah, no rush to the Dualsense Edge bandwagon for our household.

PSS: Do us a favour and like Xbox, allow plenty of third party cheaper standard no frills controllers to pair with the PS5. As it’s clear they’re the most throw away aspect of the PS5.

Again, sorry to ramble.

Re: In the Crossover of the Century, Destiny 2 Is Getting Fortnite Skins

TheElectroFunky

Me and the family have loved Fortnite refreshing things a tad with the DBZ crossover, adding a different mechanic or two and giving us a break from Disney. And Destiny 2 has been a great FPS where COD has fallen a little in our household.

So yeah, looking forward to this livestream and seeing what’s next.

As for live service. Meh, I hate the concept, but then most of my content is live service. Streaming TV and film, then monthly Cable TV in the UK is live service technically.

I mean, stop paying your cable bill and you stop getting channels and broadband. So it’s no different to us in this home.

So yes, overall quite pleased with the hours of fun for basically peanuts a year. Both Destiny and Fortnite cost less than our Tv package a year. Yet I use them more. Can’t argue with that personally.

Re: God of War Ragnarok Dev Sony Santa Monica Demands Respect After Unsavoury Week

TheElectroFunky

@GagaOooLaLa Yeah, sadly people panic and use excuses when having to show ID for basic things. When it comes to voting, that’s a legal right every citizen in most democracies have, a Twitter account isn’t a legal right.

I can’t just walk into a Gap store and call the lady behind the counter a random insult, get my wang out without being arrested, asked for ID, and likely fined or jailed etc.

So we need to start tackling this behaviour head on, because so far, since the invention of the internet, saying it’s a small slice of society and ignoring it isn’t working. Children commit suicide due to what’s said online, and in some cases the people who’ve said it can’t even be traced.

I mean look at how people panicked when they knew they could be reported on a PS5 and recorded. They’re using another companies services, and servers, but don’t like playing by said companies rules.

That’s the issue, no one wants to be ruled yet portions of society keep displaying a lack of common sense and direction. So something needs to be done, because this situation isn’t getting better because Cory Barlog swears a bit and acts dramatic. It’s not like that’s going to shut the idiots up. There needs to be tangible recourse for a persons actions.

Re: God of War Ragnarok Dev Sony Santa Monica Demands Respect After Unsavoury Week

TheElectroFunky

I mean it’s all rather depressingly simple:

If you take a random selection of global society, you’ll get everyone from peaceful quiet people, to people who’ve committed unspeakable crimes and everything in between.

So, seeing as social media allows said people to join, it’s likely social media will reflect everything about society too, from the good and the bad.

The problem comes with the fact that unlike in say a physical dispute, there’s no real recourse for a lot of behaviour online.

Behaviour like this I see online is disgusting, and inexcusable, but sadly it’s also no different to what one would expect when taking millions, if not a few billion humans, giving them anonymity and a milk crate to stand on.

Maybe the British MP I heard many moons ago was correct, maybe we may have to go the route of taking ID upon registration for these services.

I’ve known a fair few people in my life that wouldn’t have said what they did online if they had their real ID linked to it, so that they can be easily traced and persecuted.

I have to show ID to do many things potentially damaged to myself or others. From driving to all sorts.

Until the human race shows it’s capable of not being irresponsible with what freedoms it’s given, then it’s probably best to not trust you when large swaths of it are given a loudspeaker and anonymity.

I don’t like the idea of a literal nanny state, but when I see people all around me acting like they need a nanny, maybe it’s one of the only quick solutions we have.

The other would be education through parenting and schools, but having a 12 year old myself, I know if it wasn’t for my child being told by us how the world really works and the dangers, the school would just concentrate on teaching how to paint an apple with the correct lighting and ignore the worlds problems.

The internet isn’t the issue, same as a parked car doesn’t pile into a pedestrian of its own accord.

But until we learn how to function as a society without wanting to hurt, injure and kill one another, it’s either cut off the platform for all or police it.

All this over a game as well, it’s not like these people are trying to make a stand on a human rights case, it’s a video game, a bunch of pixels with no real world value if it wasn’t for a sticker showing an arbitrary price.

Re: Darth Vader, Indiana Jones Vibin' in New Festival Fortnite Season

TheElectroFunky

@BReal Oh, I would say there are many things far more toxic than Fortnite or its fanbase, your comments on PushSquare are a good example.

I don't like many a game, but christ, people who don't like something don't half spend a lot of time focusing on it.

I just don't understand how putting no money into the game, having fun with my daughter on it and gaining enjoyment from it in-between a single player game, makes myself or my daughter toxic.

You realise there's plenty of young toxic people who play single player games too right? They just aren't witnessed during your game session.

Re: Darth Vader, Indiana Jones Vibin' in New Festival Fortnite Season

TheElectroFunky

Loved how the season ended, and looking forward to playing around and enjoying this season with the misses and daughter.

They really have done a great job over the years, and especially of late, ensuring it all feels fresh, yet familiar.

And of course, I also look forward to continuing many a single player game, as apparently, looking up at the comments I can’t both enjoy being social in a game and playing a serious narrative driven one an hour before or after.

Re: EVO, Sony, and Epic Working to Reduce Fighting Game Input Latency

TheElectroFunky

To be fair, my biggest latency, along with most over certain ages is a physical one, as in the human brain and nervous system. So whilst any delay that is technical that can be improved is great, there really is still going to be people who are simply slower or faster.

Depending on age, genetics and so on.

I’m guilty of it too, I do all I can to reduce input lag, but then if I don’t keep up with mental and physical exercises that month, it’s only adding a lag no one cares to think about.

It’s like if I drive a car, I’m not going to notice all of the nuisances a rally driver would. Yet to them, change even the slightest thing to cause delay with a gearbox etc, and they’d notice.

So I guess what I’m saying is, reducing input lag, and offering more stable frames and so forth is fantastic for us all, but after a certain point, many other than people training themselves to play these games every waking moment won’t notice.

Anyway, just confirming what you’ve already said in the article really, none of this will make too much difference to the layman. But positive direction to move in nevertheless.

I’d say the biggest issue I have right now is with Unreal Engine in general on PS5, as even at my age and lack of “pro” status, playing something like Fortnite on PS5, versus my daughters Xbox Series S, there’s noticeable lag on the PS5. Like almost a mouse smoothing kind of thing.

But that’s barely noticeable to anyone I’ve asked, so maybe some of that’s in my head?! Haha.

Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PS5, PS4 Game Shown at State of Play?

TheElectroFunky

The Callisto Protocol looked like Deadspace, so that was nice to reminisce over, even though it’s new haha. So I’d go with that, and Stray.

I don’t have any of this seemingly fashionable desire to adore everything Japanese. So I don’t care for Final Fantasy, which is quite the irony really considering they keep bloody releasing so many and there’s nothing final about them.

Resident Evil remaster is just that, something we’ve had.

Resident Evil in VR could be compelling, but it’s still just the same old series.

Horizon VR looked fun but janky, pretty, but still janky.

I haven’t played a fighting game for years, probably for the best due to not having a 10 year olds reaction haha. But from what I saw it seems like a prettier version of fighting games gone by.

Oh and Spider-Man on PC is lovely, but I’ve played it on the PS5, using technology that makes the most of PlayStation apparently, oh and every other generic off the shelf part available.

So yeah, that’s all I remember, and it seems good for many on here, so I’m happy with everyone getting something. As I’ll give Deadspace but not a go and then Stray I’ve been waiting for.

I really would have loved to see some FPS and more quirky games like Stray.

It’s just I’ve played and had FF and RE around, along with Street Fighter all my life, and frankly they kinda stopped being my bag when I hit adulthood. I’m just not one to get excited by the same old ideas and games essentially being in a big showcase.

But hey, I’m impressed, with the two I mentioned, and I’m glad others are so happy!

Re: Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 Closes with Collision Event on 4th June

TheElectroFunky

@BritneyfR_ee Hey!

Couldn't agree more with regards to the newly added mechanics, from No Build, right the way through to mantling and sliding.

Having played what I can only describe as an unhealthy amount of of Warzone, there were niggling things I wanted to have Epic acknowledge and implement, and so far ... they're showing they're listening and really making important changes.

Building was a big one for me and my family, as I've played Fortnite on and off since its inception, yet building is something I've just never found gels with my mind. I either want to fight, or build, not both. My daughter and partner seem to be the same.

This season, and even the UFO season at times, really have showed me what fun you can have, in a competitive game, yet somehow still come away smiling, entertained and accomplished.

Agreed on the Battle Pass too, my daughter has been loving some of the female additions, whereas myself and my partner were looking for something a little more, well ... retro I guess (like you say, older franchises that can still be well known).

As, though I like Marvel films to a degree, my family didn't even know who Wanda Vision was until the recent Disney Plus show, and my partner, well, she would rather play as someone like Freddy Krueger than say a brute from a side quest etc.

It's all horses for course though, and sure enough there's something for most people in time. Hence we never actually have any complaints, just a few wishes!

I've not once gotten to 200 level during any season but this one, and now I'm 209, so that alone has shown me it's my most loved season. Here's to another great season hopefully coming this weekend!

I’ve actually gotten a fair bit more enjoyment out of Vanguard than I thought I would, given how negative the fan base has been regarding it. Looking forward to seeing what this brings, even if it’s more of the same, if it entertains me and the friends for a few hours a week each week it’s a positive.

This and the new Warzone will be nice to dip into for a bit in between single player games.

I’m absolutely okay with Sony investing in other areas than say, their single player narrative games.

I really do offer a lot of personal praise for many of their games, all the way back to PSOne. As for me personally, I’ve never found any other gaming company to offer what Sony do for a lone gamer, or a gamer that simply wishes to be guided along in a fantastic showpiece and/narrative.

However, at 36 now, my life has changed a lot since I was growing up with my first PlayStation.

I can’t just sit in my bedroom after homework and spend hours on a single player game, sometimes children, my relationship, work, etc. it all gets priority.

So whilst I do continue to adore their single player output, I’m also happy to play many multiplayer games for short bursts. It’s how me, my family and friends relax.

Playing Destiny, CoD, Fortnite and so forth, they’ve been great stress relievers, great way to have a laugh and bond, and so on. It’s even helped me build up the courage to speak to more strangers. Which in turn helped to get rid of my stammer and now that’s hopefully long gone.

I guess for my life, and the people I know, games that fit different times of the week, or day, when more or less time is available, or less commitment is required, is refreshing to have. No less or more refreshing than going on amazing narrative in a single player game.

Doesn’t mean loot boxes are something I get excited about, doesn’t mean my daughter has grown up to accept she needs to spend huge amounts to enjoy Fortnite, it just means they offer something in a moment whereby Last of Us being watched by people on my sofa doesn’t hit.

There’s a time and place for many things that entertain me is what I’m saying haha. So a few more live service games, in addition to them continuing what they’re famous for, I’m happy with.

Just so long as like others have said, the fantastic PlayStation style games they’ve become known for don’t slide away.

And if Sony does one day fall, well then I guess as an adult I’ll learn to get over it and move on with my life shortly after hearing the news.
