Re: Valve Celebrates 20 Years of Half-Life 2 with New Documentary

TheElectroFunky

Do find it a rather hilarious turn of events to witness over the years. I remember the release of Half Life, Gary’s Mod being so popular, along with Counter Strike and so on. I switched from PC gaming after those releases, then mainly played on consoles since.

Then came my utter disappointment to read year after year, Gabe repeatedly bashing seemingly any console, well, Xbox far less but still.

Now out crops the Steam Deck, that’s even marketed in their own terms as providing a ‘console like experience’.

Yet what they could actually do is provide a full console experience with their games in modern times instead/as well.

Ah, if it weren’t for a billionaire wanting to reign over profits of his games for the sake of being angry other billionaires may also profit over his games.

To be fair years ago he also claimed the difficulty in porting various games, but even that has come full circle.

Seeing as he’s now spent considerable funds helping to emulate Windows on a Linux based platform, whilst claiming repeatedly the Unix based PlayStation platform was too much.

Admire the guy, and his achievements, and of course love their work, but boy do I remember reading old interviews of him in PC Mags of late where he bashed the very products he’s now trying to emulate.

He loves cross device play, as long as it’s a device with his walled garden, shame he had a lot of insults back in the day for the companies that gave him the very idea that made him a billionaire.

Also Half Life 3 would sell hotcakes on PlayStation and arguably even Xbox, he’s missing a trick, but then when you own shares in a company valued more than a small island, it’s probably not a needed venture.

Who am I kidding, I still love Lord Gaben and want HL 3. I’d even by a Steam Deck to make sure I get the best ‘console like experience’. 😉

Re: Japan Sales Charts: PS5 Pro Gets Stronger Start Than PS4 Pro Despite Being Twice the Price

TheElectroFunky

@Deljo Great heads up, and for those interested, John Lewis also has it for the same price as Argos in the UK. And due to bringing back their price match promise will adhere to any price drops major competitors like Argos make moving forward.

But yeah, just in case anyone is on the fence or yet to get one, and may have certain cards with store benefits etc, that’s now two UK stores knocking off PS5 Pro price to £659.99.

Re: PLAY, the Last Bastion of PlayStation Print Media, Has Reached Its Final Issue

TheElectroFunky

I’ve had so many PlayStation magazines since my childhood, many of which you listed I remember being subscribed to over the years. I do have a Play subscription too, so yeah, this hits hard as it’s sort of historic really its roots that is.

Actually really upset by this, I know that sounds pathetic, but yeah, cuts kinda deep. When I had little to no friends these mags were my best friend telling me all about the things I loved.

Well, time I grew up and read more online to satisfy to keep the opticians in business I guess.

Much respect to all the writers and hope they go on to great things.

Re: Underperforming XDefiant Pours More Misery on Embattled Publisher Ubisoft

TheElectroFunky

@FPSfan1337 Couldn’t agree more, I really love FPS multiplayer games and yet they’ve really fell to the wayside given how successful BR has been of late. I’m hoping the next Battlefield will get me back into that franchise, I still play Battlefield 4 as I can’t rip myself away from the idea and scope of people feeling like it’s a big war and you’re all playing a part and contributing.

Hopefully we get some good things happening over the coming years in that genre!

Re: Underperforming XDefiant Pours More Misery on Embattled Publisher Ubisoft

TheElectroFunky

Well, a few weeks ago if some YouTubers were to be believed it was a Call of Duty killer.

After giving it a whirl can’t say I’m surprised, it certainly didn’t kill anything I have for other tactical/arcade/online shooters.

I love that there’s competition, but I’d love it even more if there were good competition.

I think back to when I was first online with a dial up modem, I had Quake, Unreal Tournament, Counter Strike and so on. All such massive player bases and fans.

Now it’s CoD or Fortnite. With hints of Val or Apex Legends for the YouTubers trying to be edgy.

God I miss how much decent competition there was back then.

Ah well, onwards and upwards, hopefully something will crop up one day that grabs people. Enough people to be financially worth it that is.

Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?

TheElectroFunky

@Rich33 Agreed, the marketing has been horrendous, and the use of Mark Cerny was almost laughable.

I’m literally in the demographic who not only want to hear him speak in technical detail, I understand him. Yet I got nothing, other than the blog you mentioned which I found on a whim after searching for a Dualsense charger on Google, and of course the DF discussion/s.

Which I will say they use a lot more guess work than the average layman knows. They’re not always right on the mark of “this is how they did it”.

But that aside, it’s better than nothing, and Sony gave people next to nothing.

Ah well, enjoy your Pro and make the most of it, it’ll last many a person through part of the PS6 lifecycle no doubt.

Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?

TheElectroFunky

@Member_the_game Absolutely agree, I do feel the price as a console is a little high.

Though having built PC’s over time it’s not as high as it could have been. I mean there’s a company here in Staffordshire I worked for back when I was in college OCUK, they make a large portion of their money off PC users making liquid going around that’s dyed look fancy.

Obviously there’s more to it than that, but you get the sentiment.

Same with the lack of disc drive, I think one should have been included, but to then see my friend squirm when defending why he wasn’t sad to see CD’s go from PC gaming was quite interesting.

With the SSD alone I’m talking another £100 on a PS5 Digital Price, to match the 2TB etc. Then I have a 90 inch TV so I know it’s daft but even a resolution upscalled just a bit further makes a big difference.

I work with 3D assets and editing all day, then my missus is a graphic designer, so all we do is analyse pixels each day, so it’s nice to sometimes just know I’m getting the best, that PlayStation can offer.

But that’s part of my reasoning, it won’t match everyone else’s and I certainly agree it’s pricey and too much for many to consider it.

To me it’s worth it, I mean my 4090 was a stupid decision to people on the internet, yet it’s only used for my work and makes me a living that I could have only dreamt of a few years back.

So is a 4090 a stupid price to me? Absolutely, I can’t imagine anyone wishing to pay for that for a gaming GPU.

But for me who makes money off it every day, absolutely.

Everything is going up in price, even down to the metals used to make electronics, nothing is going to get cheaper. So we either need people’s wages to match prices of items, or a lot of hobbies will be out of reach for people in a few decades.

But yes, totally agree with you, that’s my issue with the insults flung on here by some. It’s not the case I don’t see their points, it’s just everyone can justify buying an item another won’t be able to justify. It doesn’t make either person wrong.

I mean some would say I’m complicit in making Nvidia think they can charge gamers whatever they wish, yet I literally just bought their highest tier card for work.

To sum up, whether it’s my work or personal time, I don’t wish to hear of someone saying I should buy a less than experience because they are happy with less than when they could have more.

If I want more, then my buying more shouldn’t make those happy with less unhappy.

Sorry for the length and happy gaming! Off to play some Call of Duty now because got to live up to the dumbo reputation that proceeds me. 😂

Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?

TheElectroFunky

@Frmknst Yes, we are the reason a load of men and a small amount of women have made decisions based on DRM, licensing, disc drives, PS Plus requirements, censorship, pricing structures, supply chain agreements, retail agreements, remasters, project cancellations and so forth.

I’ve spent a few hundred quid on equipment from a multi-billion pound company and they’ve decided to make poor decisions both prior to my purchase and following on from it.

All based on my purchase.

Sony has failed with its fans for years for many, many reasons, and it started long before the PS5 Pro, and long before the PS4 Pro.

Take it you were around for the PS3 release?

Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?

TheElectroFunky

@Medic_alert I would just appreciate not having to see people commenting on how much of a “dumbo” someone is or having more money than sense.

I’m so tired of people getting insulting over an object they either can’t afford or don’t wish to purchase.

I can’t afford a Lambo but I’m not going to insult someone who buys one.

And agreed with what you stated.

Re: Genshin Impact's Rollerblading Waifu Will Bankrupt Whales on PS5, PS4

TheElectroFunky

@Pushsquarian Very good point!

I think that’s what I’ve craved the most lately, more excitement like I used to feel about the gaming industry and then rushing off to chat and have fun talking about it.

But it’s really hard to feel positive about buying anything lately. I think it’s best I take your advice and think less about others pondering on what I’m entertained by.

Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?

TheElectroFunky

One for me then my wife slapped one on her account too. Then a few of our friends have ordered some today.

Wanted the 30th edition Portal, PS5 Pro etc, but was way behind the curve on that one.

Absolutely adore how ugly that grey was back when I had a PS1. Odd I know, I like a lot of ugly things, like comments sections for example.

Re: Genshin Impact's Rollerblading Waifu Will Bankrupt Whales on PS5, PS4

TheElectroFunky

I’m clearly showing my age that I had to look up what whale was referring to in this context. Well and look up Waifu for that matter. Haha.

The art style looks like something my daughter grew out of before she hit high school. So I’m sure it appeals to many a man.

What ever tickles someone’s pickle I guess, looks a lot like adverts I see for “games” on another site that’s popular with men too. Haha.

Needs more tails though.

And tentacles.

Re: How to Pre-Order PS5's 30th Anniversary Collection

TheElectroFunky

@flummerfelt Bloody well done! Got two Pro’s for me and the missus and was toying with the 30th Bundle before it sold out! Toyed too long, clearly! 😂

Now don’t mention how you made this purchase to anyone on this site or you’ll have a lot of accountants suddenly offering their free services in kind. 😂

Anyway, bloody well enjoy it bud! I’m just happy people who actually want this all are managing it. Not everyone of course, but I’m glad at least some are!

Re: All Eyes on Aloy (Again), as Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Comparison Does the Rounds

TheElectroFunky

On the remaster the engine is clearly resolving the hair simulation with more transform points. As can be seen by the far more natural flowing motion over the shoulder. Along with the sheer volume of hair rendered and presumably simulated as a cluster with deformation applied more liberally.

Aloy’s eyes actually look far more present in the scene and in the model of her skull too, where they seem to be bouncing light in a far more correct manner around her face and thus eyes too of course.

There’s clearly an improvement from a technical standpoint (my living is based on polygons), just not sure on the lip colour but that could be a lighting related colour saturation.

Or it could just be that Aloy put some berries on her lips that day. I don’t mind either way.

Overall it’s nice to see these changes. From an artistic and technical standpoint.

Obviously it will cause online chatter, as the first rule of perusing the internet is the opposite to that of Fight Club.

Re: Ubisoft Board Orders Internal Investigation and Review into Company's Financial Woes

TheElectroFunky

I genuinely wasn’t aware of anything woke about Ubisoft, as in directly through playing their games. If it wasn’t for my daughter explaining last month I wouldn’t even know what the term meant.

However, now I do know, and having given it some thought, I’ve just realised I haven’t played a Ubisoft title since the Original Assassin Creed game.

For a team of 19,000 they sure have made a small dent in my gaming memory. Just a bit shocking, they used to be rather favoured in the Rayman era.

Re: 'PS5 Pro Is a Really Good Investment,' Argue Tech Experts After Hands-On

TheElectroFunky

@Psofo Oh I’ve had plenty of people stating they’re jealous offline, jealously is a thing, and does exist both inside and outside of a vacuum.

There’s people I know that can’t afford their next set of groceries unless they put it on buy now pay later, I can assure you, those people are jealous of the fact I can afford this and they can’t, and they make it very, very clear.

It’s how most brands that cater towards an elitist mentality survive, from Prada to Sony, it’s all about people being jealous and FOMO.

There would be no use of a Nike tick unless it subconsciously meant something to those who don’t possess it.

Sony isn’t being aggressive with its most widely purchased product, the base PS5 is still the same price it was a few weeks ago.

So no one is suffering in the slightest, what people claim on here they are happy with (base PS5) they are using and have used and purchased at a price they were happy with, presumably or they wouldn’t have bought it.

My having a pricer car doesn’t automatically mean the budget range of the same brand or even another brand is going to be more expensive next year because it. I mean I don’t, I own an old Land Rover that’s likely about to die, but my buying that wasn’t more expensive because someone bought an all bells and whistles Jaguar.

Sony knows they have to compete on a base price model with PS6. They’re not that unaware of how to conduct their bookkeeping.

The same message could also be shared with the PS5, if most games, by and large are available on PS4, why did we all buy PS5 consoles 4 years ago?

To play better versions of games we could play on an older console.

That’s it. There’s nothing more to it. I’m buying to upgrade a graphics card in a PC, it’s just that graphics card happens to be in a Sony console that has an OS and ecosystem I prefer.

The base model PS6 will be at a price most of their consumers are happy to stump up, as shown by their internal market research. It won’t be some ludicrously expensive box because a bloke in Staffordshire bought two consoles in 2024.

The people paying more for a Pro model iPhone or MacBook don’t increase the price of the standard model next year for those who only stay on the standard models.

So this fear of price rises, though real is due to so many other factors globally, pro models of any product aren’t an issue.

Re: 'PS5 Pro Is a Really Good Investment,' Argue Tech Experts After Hands-On

TheElectroFunky

@tameshiyaku very good point, and now that we aren’t relying on completely different architecture, such as the PS3 to normal x86, and we know the PS6 is AMD based …

Then yes, I assume the Pro and the PS5 OG for that matter will have games released on them that come out for PS6 as cross platform.

I don’t see next generation being any different in that regard, every generation from here on out until quantum computing or massive gimmicks like a Switch style device are going to remain iterations of the same.

For better or worse. I wish we ditched the PS4/Xbox whatever way back when, but I guess pulling the cord on that many consumers is too high of a financial risk.

Re: 'PS5 Pro Is a Really Good Investment,' Argue Tech Experts After Hands-On

TheElectroFunky

@Pranwell Very well said! Myself, well though I don’t make a habit of mentioning it, years ago I got made redundant, lived off soup, lost a few stone, got a job that didn’t pay enough or respect me and my time enough, so kept spiralling. I relied on food banks just to literally survive.

Years later, I now don’t have a mortgage, I am a self employed business owner and have a pension, ISA blah blah.

My partner and I plan to give our base PS5 models to our local hospital, here in the midlands UK.

Yet when I say I’m buying two Pro units people assume I’m brain dead and an idiot.

I’m just so confused how my having the self made ability to afford consumer devices equals I’m an idiot.

Now if I paid for these consoles and didn’t have a pension, savings, blah blah, I’d understand, but as it stands that’s not the case.

I just don’t get how more products being available for more potential customers is a bad thing for anyone.

A few years ago I couldn’t afford a tamagotchi never mind a console. Surely I deserve to spend money I’ve earned without being judged by someone mainly out of jealously.

I didn’t look at people in town and sneer because they could afford a McDonald’s and I couldn’t even afford chewing gum.

Re: 'PS5 Pro Is a Really Good Investment,' Argue Tech Experts After Hands-On

TheElectroFunky

@Medic_alert You make some good points regarding technically this being exactly what the community has been asking for. Online of course as most of my fellow offline gamers could care less.

However, in this echo chamber you’re spot on.

Now to confuse this even more, I watched a bit of the DF video, before I got bored and realised my life isn’t long enough to justify their heads bobbing about for 60 mins.

Now in that bit I watched, the Horizon devs mention the Pro patch/update/whatever isn’t actually one mode.

They allude to there still being a Pro performance mode and then another for those that purely just want the most “pretty” I guess.

I could be wrong, but I certainly heard in the interview the aspects of “modes” still being present.

Which correct me if I’m wrong, but brings us right back to the same issues this echo chamber has with the OG PS5, just simply on a higher fidelity scale.

Anyway; thought it was of note seeing everyone discuss how this gets rid of modes. Yet it appears it may not.

Re: 'PS5 Pro Is a Really Good Investment,' Argue Tech Experts After Hands-On

TheElectroFunky

Me and the missus are getting one each, due to us seeing value in it, I mean I bought PSVR2 that costs more than a base PS5 too and that was a much worse “investment” than the Pro consoles will be.

To us, in our opinion.

I treat this just as I would any product line, like Apple IPhone 16/16 Pro. Don’t want it don’t get it, and you won’t miss it.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Will Experiment with 8K, 60fps on PS5 Pro

TheElectroFunky

@Andy22385 Exactly, I’ve asked my missus and she claims she just wants the standard Pro, not the 30th Anniversary version, so then I’m fine with two standard Pro units or one that is the Anniversary etc.

I know it’s a first world issue to many, but I just want ideally the same warranty/guarantee and same purchase etc. Plus I don’t want to give myself a Pro and then have to tell my missus she has to wait months or vice versa.

I guess we cross our fingers and wait! I don’t mind if I’m purchasing on December the 20th, just so long as it’s together.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Will Experiment with 8K, 60fps on PS5 Pro

TheElectroFunky

8K is wonderful to demonstrate to some of the Digital Foundry lot as some kind of next level game changer, but not remotely what I’m thinking of when I consider the future potential of a gaming system.

That aside, to shoehorn a question in here to anyone who may see it, do we know yet if Sony will allow me to purchase two PS5 Pro consoles in one transaction here in the UK?

No particular rush, just would like them ideally prior to Christmas but if not oh well, but just can’t for the life of me remember if when I purchased mine and my partners OG PS5 they were limited to one per person and/or household.

Anyway, sorry to go off on a tangent. I would ask Sony customer support, but it’s a Live Chat bot until you moan enough for a real person who then proceeds to know less about Sony electronics than a random bloke in a pub.

Re: Sony Appears to Leak Many Games from State of Play

TheElectroFunky

I believe a Soul Reaver remake/remaster/whatever marketing term is surveyed to push to a sale, is a good idea on the whole. Simply because my fiancé’s new to the PlayStation ecosystem and grew up with Nintendo and Xbox only. So in the case of my partner I think she would adore the news of making games available in a current generation graphically, very appealing.

As to anything announced that is from the PS4/PS5 generation being reworked… even my partner would agree it’s worthless to her at this point, as the PS4 copies are more than readily available and look okay, if not great currently.

So I would say the leaked list pictured you mention is hardly exciting from both my experience as someone who’s been with PlayStation from the beginning, and hardly so from a newcomers perspective either (that being my partner).

Of course, we are only two, of the many millions of PlayStation fans/consumers/customers out there, but I don’t see how a remaster of yet another PS4 title most who wished to play already have, would excite many of those millions.

Though I am more than happy to be proven wrong, and knowing how all this goes, I usually am proven wrong by consumers, well, consuming en masse.

In short, excited for updates and announcements from newer IP, such as updates to Astro Bot, Lego games and so forth. Yet anything remastered you can count our family largely out of that crowd.

And just for reference, we currently have two OG PS5’s and plan to this festive season treat ourselves two a Portal each, and then two PS5 Pro’s or slim line models of the standard.

So we are hardly penny pinchers, which I’m sure Sony Corporate would like to paint people who don’t consume all their remakes to be.

Anyway, I’ve ranted, I’m sorry. I just really want more original first party material and I think I’m realising that’s just my own unrealistic expectation.

To end positively, Astro Bot went down perfectly in our home, so more of that will too. Anything Lego will too. So there’s that!

Re: State of Play Confirmed for Tomorrow, 20+ PS5, PSVR2 Games Included

TheElectroFunky

Something is better than nothing, and if that something isn’t a Japanese fighting game or remaster even better! (For me personally of course). I am open to see something surprising. Fingers crossed there’s something in there for everyone!

Not expecting anything in particular, but just want to feel excited again, I remember the good old days of E3 in gaming magazines and waiting for the monthly magazine from the local newsagents with my pocket money.

I guess I want to feel something again for the hobby I’ve enjoyed all my life. No pressure Sony, no pressure! 😂

Re: ISPs Seemingly Clamping Down on Downloads of Stolen Marvel's Wolverine Build

TheElectroFunky

Bit unsure how downloading unfinished illegally distributed material makes for an engaging day, but I guess it takes all sorts.

I’ve never been that bored with my life, or the things in it, to look at everything I’ve obtained legally, or the outside away from tech and thought “you know what, stuff those films, TV, games, life, socialising I have on my list of to do’s!”

“Because instead I’m going to prioritise downloading something illegally, that isn’t mine, I didn’t contribute to, nor will I impact and nor will it show me the final intended product”

“Yes, that’ll be a good way to spend my time”

I mean seriously, I’m not even joking when I say you can really tell who has sex and who doesn’t in the comments section.

Put this much effort into making money and finding someone awesome and leaks like this will be the last thing on your mind.

Or not. Either way. Just wow.

On a related but positive note, it seems Insomniac as a whole is okay as far as staff safety and what not from all of this. So that’s something good for Christmas out of it all, for now their lives haven’t been put at risk due to the data leaks on their identities etc.

Re: Sony Has a State of Play Livestream for September, Rumours Suggest

TheElectroFunky

@4kgk2 Yep, couldn't agree more. Under a few usernames I have been here for years ... yet it's definitely gotten worse.

One username I used I actually declared my real job and helped people on here during the launch of PS5 and broke NDA agreements to do it, funny how people have a differing attitude when you're not bending over backwards to help them.

I mean I just had a guy pull me up with anger, simply because I understand inflation exists, and that I am not currently struggling to pay for Playstation products.

Apparently, we need to be more "vocal" and "loud" about how angry we are, otherwise, we are shills and so forth.

I genuinely don't know why people wish to be so angry, maybe it's the state of the world and thus it bleeds into their hobbies, but either way, I come here to get some fun news and updates on a hobby I love. I want to chat with fellow enthusiasts, instead it's just like being on Daily Mail comments section most of the time.

Anyway, like your comments buddy, always have liked how you go against the grain, keep it up.

Re: PS Plus Essential, Extra, Premium Price Increases Announced by Sony

TheElectroFunky

@KoldFire Oh please, if you think PlayStation reads comments on this website and listens, especially to someone like you who sounds like a right wing American in text, no thank you.

I’m not a shill, or an apologist, or any other trendy word that’s become ever popular because a con artist America voted for brought it back into vernacular with those of a statistically lower IQ.

We are perfectly fine and able to have differing opinions, I’m unsure why you’d think it necessary to then go about insulting someone just because they understand inflation is a part of the society we live in.

Inflation isn’t new, my parents paid far less for a home, far less for food, far less for everything than I did, by a lot. That’s going back decades, go back further and their parents paid even less, when accounting for inflationary values.

You act like it’s new, it’s not even remotely new.

As a fun fact for you, seeing as you’re clearly reactionary, here’s something to react to;

Inflation has been in existence since before the little white men went over to the land you sit on and called it their own. In fact one of the things your ancestors tried to escape is not only religious preaching but also financial control.

Now, fast forward through a few literal white washings of history up until your present day, and everyone, including new America has inflation still.

It isn’t just corporations by the way, mum (mom) and pop stores are also doing it, otherwise if their suppliers inflate prices, society as a whole inflated prices but they didn’t, they’d also crumble.

Of course, all of this is rather basic, but someone who uses the type of vernacular you do usually is in my experience you see.

I don’t like inflation, I don’t like PS Plus payment rises, obviously, I mean that’s obvious right? No one likes to pay more, even people who can pay far more want to always pay less.

So no, I’m not for inflation, I just recognise financially, it’s part of what societies go through like a rubber band.

And no, please, from someone who used to live in America, please for the love of God, or guns, whatever you worship.

The last thing anyone should be quite literally capitalising and shouting is to be “VOCAL” and “LOUD”.

Seriously, Americans may struggle at many things, like we all do, but being loud and vocal are not those things.

Now if you’re quite done getting on your high horse, I'd like to get on with my day.

And just so we are clear, I don’t do anything for likes, otherwise I would have pandered to a point of view that garnered them.

Again, rather simple really. Hope you understand.

Re: PS Plus Essential, Extra, Premium Price Increases Announced by Sony

TheElectroFunky

@Shad361 Oh absolutely, I expect a for profit companies profits to increase year on year until market saturation takes place.

If Sony as a shareholder corporation didn’t increase its profits since its creation it would be a failure to investors.

Unfortunately, just as is the case with my business, money needs to be made, and ideally more of it, year on year.

It’s just crap really, I dislike price rises yet I get it. So ultimately I just choose to fund what I find entertains me, or is necessary.

I mean electricity doubled in the UK and yet the companies made record profits, and the only reason people have stopped chatting about that is they have no choice but to pay it.

This is different, it’s a form of entertainment, if people don’t like the price, they don’t need to pay.

Like I don’t pay full price for some things yet do others.

Simple really. A for profit company wants to make more money, and as it’s not a vital to your existence company, such as water and so forth, we can as people just not pay it.

If it’s a charge I have a choice to pay, then I don’t argue about it or whine, I simply do or do not pay depending on my interests and the perceived value.

Unlike many, I don’t actually mind companies making a lot of money, that doesn’t inherently offend me or negatively impact me directly.

Now, what companies choose to do with said money is another story entirely. Both ethically and morally, even legally, there’s a lot I can pull up Sony, Microsoft and so on for …

But for wanting to make money, nah.

Re: PS Plus Essential, Extra, Premium Price Increases Announced by Sony

TheElectroFunky

I’ll continue my subscription through offers and what not, seems to offer a good service of offerings for me and my family.

If of course people choose not to subscribe that is equally fine.

Don’t really know what else there is to say. Everything is going up in price other than the price of human labour, such is the world, sadly.

I understand why people may not appreciate or like the £2 a month price increase, but it’s worth it for myself currently.

Re: PS5 Fans Divided on PlayStation Portal Handheld

TheElectroFunky

And I would like to point out, despite some stating it will be the case the Portal can connect direct to the PS5 without the need to bunny hop on home wifi, when in range, there’s no documentation on that at all.

https://www.playstation.com/en-us/accessories/playstation-portal-remote-player/#:~:text=PlayStation%20Portal™%20Remote%20Player%20can%20stream%20compatible%20games%20installed,at%20least%2015Mbps%20is%20recommended.

Everything including the small print and FAQ refers to the need of either a home WiFi or a public/private none home one.

At no point is it mentioned it will create a direct ad-hoc connection to the two devices when in range.

So if that is the case and they do indeed use that, which would be much preferred, they’ve clearly forgotten to mention it.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for September 2023 Announced

TheElectroFunky

I have wanted to try Saints Row, yet every time I see material of it, video or images, I just sort of want to vomit.

It did make me think “Oh I like GTA of years gone by, maybe I’ll like it.”

But something about it seems really off.

But to be fair, can’t all be winners and I’m so busy with games at the minute it’s actually done me a favour.

I’ll dig into it at some point!
